Dodson not perfect but he's much better than Bernard. -
Terrel Bernard was absolutely abused yesterday
LABILLBACKER replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
We basically played without a LB yesterday. Bernard did get abused and is not ready. I don't think Dodson or Spector played. Tremaine is a SS. Milano hurt. -
I rewatched that throw again and take back everything I said yesterday about it being underthrown. I was a remarkable throw with an injury arm.

I think it's time to adjust a few philosophies. 1. Come out of the nickel when the opponents gameplan is clearly run it down your throat. 2. Start using top 3 picks on OL. Establish a better run game once and for all.

Coaching Staff has to take a huge blame for yesterday
LABILLBACKER replied to BillyBilliams's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did you see Saleh jumping up and down after the game like he's going to Disneyland. Listen these coaches failed Josh by not improving the OL / run game 3 years ago. After Dion we have squat. Cowherd this morning is right. We're still an amazing team but we have no nuance. It's either chuck it deep or nothing. It's either knockout or nothing. The Bills staff is incredibly stubborn. Even when they know to move out of the nickel some, they don't. Even when they know improving the OL will help diversify the team, they don't. Remember how long it took them to realize Peterman sucked. -
Yes it's very odd seeing Gabe & Ed so uninspired?

Who has been the biggest disappointment?
LABILLBACKER replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pretty much every pass catcher except Diggs. Gabe, Knox & Isaiah have led the charge of disappointment. And yes Dorsey start using Shakir and stop dicking around. OL is always underwhelming. 5-6 defensive injuries have really hurt us. Along with Frazier's stubborn unwillingness to occassionally move out of the nickel (when appropriate). Josh will reset and fix the head scratcher int's. -
I think this little game and a half lull is a product of 6 defensive injuries more than anything else. We're not getting Micah back, but one by one the others starting with Milano have to return. We have to let Josh reset. We need to light a fire under Gabe and this OL. Hines will help as will OBJ when we acquire him. Frazier & McD have to be less stubborn and willing to adjust their base nickel from time to time. A 12-13 win season is still very attainable.

He can run routes till he's blue in the face. But he's either not getting open or Josh isn't seeing him.

Josh Allen's waning confidence and mental yips

We've been literally begging for a viable run game for over 3 years. Draft some godamn Olineman mensa's. -
Bills are Now Out of the Spotlight
LABILLBACKER replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. Minus Micah, we need our full compliment of defensive players back and healthy. And it all starts with Milano, Tre & Poyer. The inability to stop the run is because our coaches refuse to adjust out of the nickel. -
Some of my observations include: We don't have a safety valve slot guy like Beasley. I see this as McKenzie's last year. Why we don't trust Shakir more in routes is an anomaly? Why Knox is basically just a blocker is ridiculous. Davis has been way too inconsistent for a WR2 looking for a 2nd contract. So that leaves us with Josh going to Diggs 50+% of the time or dumpoffs. With our mediocre OL this is not sustainable. Maybe Hines & OBJ can swoop in and save the day?
-
All I know is he's not near as productive anymore. He's averaging 2 catches & 26 yards per game. I know our OL sucks but 53M is alot to pay a blocker.

Bills are Now Out of the Spotlight
LABILLBACKER replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Injuries on defense have really turned things upside down. -
I don't mind us using this base nickel, but if you have a team like (GB- no wrs) or NYJ ( mediocre qb) you gotta adjust out of this nickel. They're going to run the damn ball. As will Dalvin Cook next weekend. This incessant stubborn strategy to stay in the nickel forever is just foolish. Good teams should be making adjustments weekly.
-
Gabe is a complete inconsistent mess right now. Knox, McKenzie & Shakir have been non factors. It's basically Diggs or nothing. Josh's confidence is suffering right now. Yes we somehow scratched out a win v GB but that 2nd half was like rookie Josh yet worse. Hopefully he clears his head and rests that elbow. If we don't stop losing defensive players, it won't matter what condition the offense is in.

Is There So Little Love for Tremaine Edmunds?
LABILLBACKER replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Take all the money we would waste on Edmunds and go out and get some real olineman. -
Why oh why are we not establishing a running game ?
LABILLBACKER replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
Barry Sanders couldn't run behind this OL. End of question. -
Because we have only 1 true LB. Tremaine is a glorified SS.

The blueprint is in, Buffalo has been figured out
LABILLBACKER replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can't run and other teams can run on us. Sound familiar.
