Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason
LABILLBACKER replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
No one is asking Josh to stop the go routes. Just be smart enough to take the shorter routes, if for no other reason than to keep the defense honest. -
Can we just eliminate both these teams now.

We've managed to win our last 2 games against division rivals in a somewhat sloppy & sluggish manner. Obviously we didn't play our perfect game and I'd argue we haven't had one all year. This game with Cincy will have to be clean with few mistakes. The turnovers have to end. Ball security is paramount. Routes must be precise and correct. Wrs have to fight for the ball. And when we do run we have to explode to the hole. Our trenches are weak on both sides so we have to take advantage of the opportunities when they arise. Dorsey must be willing to open up the entire playbook. Not just chuck it deep every other play. Take everything that the Bengals are willing to give you. And if Damar leads the charge play for each other.

I mean AJE would be deadly if every qb had a 10 step drop.

Actually WEO the defense only gave up 1 long scoring drive. Every other point scored by Miami was based on an offensive or ST mistake. Our offense is so dynamic they're capable of generating points for both teams. And they did that yesterday. Our defense still terrifies me but yesterday was not on them.

Well no one bothered telling me?

I don't know if Tremaine gets paid 18-20 but Matt Milano is playing like he deserves that same amount. Tremaine has definitely earned a substantial raise but I have to bump up / extend Milano according. With 49 basically playing the strong safety position, if he gets the new contract love then Milano better get some too.

The time they saved on no measurements go directly to more commercials. Yeah his choreographed drama shtick is getting old.

34°, 10-12 wind, mostly cloudy, perfect!

Neither Shaq, AJE or Boogie have dynamic pass rush moves. Von alot of times would push pressure into these 3 guys. I just don't see Rousseau having that ability. Our front 4 pass rush terrifies me. Half our sacks yesterday were on Milano blitzes. Blitzing Edmunds is a complete waste. Our trenches are suspect. If I has to pick one it would be Lawson.

Have to admit it. He flipped the switch again yesterday. Great to see and very encouraging.

Difference in O-Line Year over Year
LABILLBACKER replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have the 27th ranked overall OL this season. Our OL has been neglected for years. Guys like Saffold, Brown and Quessenberry need immediate upgrading. Josh's pocket is still collapsing way too quickly. Can one April we just ease up on defense and go heavy OL/ WR2. -
Yeah these route trees by Dorsey that puts 2 wrs too close to each other is a problem.

Why didn't Bass just have someone hold the damn ball. He kept trying to compress it and it wouldn't stay on the tee.

Playoff Mindset...the Enemy is...us

Before the season many pundits said the only team that can beat the Bills were the Bills themselves. And as this season has panned out this remains true. -
Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
LABILLBACKER replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Daboll was 100% the calming influence that encouraged Josh the value of the checkdown (years 3 & 4), to go with the occassional bomb. Now sugar Josh & Dorsey are all in on fly route city. Never saw Brady, Montana or Manning rely on this strategy. It's super fun and exciting to watch but in order to win a SB and minimize turnovers, it's not sustainable. -
Rules question: Illegal block to the back
LABILLBACKER replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm seeing less and less clips called on offensive plays. The only time I see them is on ST. -
You can make an argument that both interceptions were not his fault. The Diggs reversal was the right call. His left foot didn't stay on the ground long enough for securing possession. Shakir has gotta make that long catch but he did redeem himself later. The JA fumble and td was all on Josh. He saw the blitz but couldn't secure the ball properly. The Bills have been winning sloppy games all year. Maybe that's our destiny. I don't think we're ever having that perfect game in all 3 phases. We're going to need to grind out sloppy performances into a W. As simple as that.
