This has been an ongoing problem throughout McD's tenure. He's a defensive coach. He's going to emphasize defensive players every year. Is it to some degree stubborn and reckless?.... yes. This is an offensive league. Most rules favor the offense. The best qb to ever show up on our doorstep is being told...." you and Diggs do it all".....who knows if Rousseau, Basham or Epenesa ever pan out. Meanwhile Saffold, Brown and Quessenberry are giving Josh little support. If this organization doesn't figure this out, I can't help them.

We'll need Ed, Greg, Boogie and AJ to step it up to a new level. And only blitz Milano.

He continues to hold the ball out and away from his body like a cantaloupe. But I have yet to see someone knock it loose in the last couple seasons. The biggest problem are the blindside strip sacks. With a better OL these can be minimized.

I agree this will be a very difficult decision for McB. They've got 3 important players and realistically can only sign 1 or maybe 2 with some discount?

I either want Dorsey to drastically improve year 2 and insist on surrounding Josh with more offensive help (OL/WR)....or move on and go after Frank Riech. This is insanity how long we've ignored and neglected this OL.

Tough defensive decisions this offseason. Oliver, Poyer, Edmunds?? Who stays, who goes? My gut says sign Oliver then see if Poy would stay for a somewhat friendly deal? We can't afford all 3 and I think TE will be too expensive.

I will admit this has been his best season but being a contract year it's not a shocker. He basically plays like a 2nd strong safety which is fine for this defense. But if it's going to cost us upwards of 18-20M I just can't pull the trigger. He doesn't generate enough turnovers or sacks.

No, both Brown and Q are terrible. Have we forgotten how Josh injured his elbow. This organization better draft the best RT available.

Dawkins and Bates are the only guys I trust on a consistent basis. If Morse can avoid any concussions he could always give us 1 more year. Brown and Saffold cannot be allowed to start next season. I don't know what to do with Quessenberry? We've neglected OL since Josh was drafted. For nearly 5 years we've watched Josh run for his life. Our OL run blocking abilities (or lack thereof) have handicapped our run game. If we had an offensive HC, we'd see the O emphasized. Drafting 3 DE'S over 2 drafts was foolish. And signing Von just validates that. Just please draft at least a LG & RT. A feel free to grab an early round WR.

Please God can we win it all while Marv is alive.

We don't have a shutdown defense. Our strength is our offense. Score first and get up 7-0. Just make sure we possess the ball before halftime.

I kinda like Ken but don't love him as an OC. This seems a little premature on Carolina's part. If we do lose KD, I'd immediately go after Riech.

They ran very little last week. I think it's heavy intermediate routes to Chase & Higgins. I wouldn't be overly concerned with Boyd.

If he plays like Favre so be it. Just land us a couple Lombardis over the next decade.

This is 100% McDermott's defense. The philosophy, structure and gameplan. Leslie is allowed to call the occassional blitz but I'm sure Sean doesn't want him to go crazy. The rotations, coverage etc I'm sure goes through McD.

Because of no Von...no Micah...Sean's in game issues, I'll say I'm 60% confident we'll win another high scoring close game.

After watching our #1 defense get shredded with 13 seconds left, I could care less about stats & analytics. The only thing that matters to me IS the smell & eye test.

This might help a little but I'm not getting all excited from this news. Last year didn't the Titans sack Joe like 9x and he still won. The only reliable blitzer we have is Milano. Edmunds has no clue what to do with a blitz. Groot & Ed will have to carry this front 4. God we needed Von for these next couple games.....
