Josh looked really defeated in his press conference.
LABILLBACKER replied to bostonadguy's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's officially time for Frank and a new DC. Dorsey & Frazier are done in my eyes. Poor adjustments, nothing clever. Same stubborn scheme. -
Trock are you drunk...🤪

We had the exact bend don't break crap during our 90's run. This is like de ja vu all over again with a better qb. In our last 4 playoff exits our defense was embarrassing. Stubborn coaches sticking with their worthless zone scheme. Including today, how many dozens of times we saw 3rd & long converted. This craziness has to stop.
-
Least disappointed...wow your bar isn't set very high. I wish you were my boss.

Josh on the Niners would be multiple Lombardis. I would love for Reich to take over for Dorsey and we need a new dynamic DC willing to use man coverage more. But like the word purgatory, nothing will change.
-
When you spend nearly 70% of you FA / Draft assets on a failed playoff defense that's the result. Let's sign some mediocre Jags on the OL and ask Josh to be superhuman. What could possibly go wrong. For nearly 5 years Sean was selfish and put his defensive needs ahead of protecting QB1. Shame on you Sean.

ATTENTION HOMERS: You can still love this team and be critical
LABILLBACKER replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall
With each failed defensive exit, Sean the pied piper will lose supporters. It will take some longer than others to realize this. Losing a 16-0 lead in Houston pissed me off. Then 13 seconds should've gotten someone on defense fired. Today the whole team (especially the D) was flat and unprepared. Maybe having Damar in the locker room was a bad idea? There's alot to like about McDermott away from a football field. But when kickoff starts, he terrifies me. -
McBeane's investment in the D Line last five seasons
LABILLBACKER replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane & McDermott have defensively failed this team at the expense of protecting Josh with a better OL. -
I just know the talking heads will be ball washing Mahomes & Burrow from here on out. My biggest fear moving forward is Josh becomes Dan Marino or God forbid Warren Moon.
-
Well newsflash, he's going to have to be if you want to wait around for McD to create a SB defense.
-
Cool.....in 20 years Josh will be 46.

Let's not kid ourselves. Sean McDermott is the Marty Schottenheimer version of this era. Great wonderful likeable guy dripping in culture, process and team bonding. But as a defensive HC, he has now failed in his last 4 playoff exits. He runs a soft zone which requires a monster pass rush that he does not have. He knew he failed on the 3 DE's when he went after Von. Meanwhile Josh's OL gets worse every year. Pure stupidity.

I’m over this defensive scheme. Bring in a new DC.
LABILLBACKER replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well maybe because our last 4 playoff exits were all defensive failures. Our defense is soft and small. We had 270lb DE's today pretending to play DT. I felt the season was probably lost when Micah & Von went down. The air just came out of the balloon. -
Diggs vs. Josh: Sideline Disagreement?
LABILLBACKER replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe Diggs would like to take a crack at LT. Everyone is frustrated. Sean failed this team years ago by putting his own selfish defensive needs (failed DE's) over the good of protecting your #1 asset. -
Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed
LABILLBACKER replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh hasn't regressed. Dorsey is a rookie OC who struggled this year. The trenches on both sides is abysmal. That's 100% on Sean. He determines what kind of player Beane selects. Josh simply realizes he has to do even more than ever before (hero ball) to offset the other deficiencies. -
Who are you rooting for next week? Cincy or KC?
LABILLBACKER replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
SF's winning it all. Now that's a defense Sean. -
Nobody wants an aging failed DC who sucks in the playoffs. Frazier got punched in the mouth today with that worthless zone. And McD won't fire him because of some blind loyalty. It will be the same soft zone defense next year (aside from Milano).....
-
It wouldn't be if they had identified this 5 years ago. Josh has had a garbage OL forever. We've been begging for drafting better Olineman around Josh. Instead McD insists on drafting failed DE's. If you're all content with Marty Schottenheimer, guess what you got him.
-
Hire a DC who's willing to be aggressive and play press man more often. Just hire Riech to replace Dorsey. Josh didn't look comfortable all year. And as far as McD apparently according to the masses we're stuck with him forever. Yay
-
Our playoff defense in the 90's sucked and so far McD's playoff defense looks just as embarrassing. I'll pick out the casket.

Cool....Schottenheimer for the next 5 years.
