I may not know much about DT play but I've had plenty of opportunities to watch Ed play. And he's not worth this big a contract. Dareus 2.0
-
So basically we're both hitting. 333. Cool
-
Prime....if Ed balls out and leads us toward a championship with the "learning curve" issues, I will be the first one to personally apologize to you. I just see Dareus 2.0 in this whole extension. And we all remember how that worked out. Ed shows me nothing that screams 10M/yr, let alone a whopping 17 large. And I think you're extremely underestimating Sean's "Belichick-like" abilities to micro manage.
-
The only thing delusional about you Prime is your love affair with Edmunds and Oliver. Two underperforming 1st rounders.
-
I can't wait for the 5 good games he plays out of 17.
-
Sean will always value his underperforming defensive players over anything remotely offensive. It's how he's wired.
-
He's had 4 years to improve on it. Now he has another 4 years to not improve on it.
-
This is shocking, stupid and completely irresponsible. Maybe we'll pretend Gabe is a WR2 and give him 50M. That money could've gone toward a RT next year after Brown gets Josh killed. Unbelievable??
-
I agree. The ultimate key to success this season will be between Josh & Dorsey. Our offense needs an identity beyond "get open and I'll chuck it".
-
We may have Jettisoned Saffold but we're still stuck with Brown & Quessenberry. Our interior protection should be improved. It's the outside that scares me. JA taking blindside hits?
-
Just like our loveable Marv, you can't help but root for McDermott. Great man of integrity and brought this team out of 17 years of useless football. But just like Marv, Sean gets outcoached and dismantled in the playoffs. I often wonder what a more successful coach would've done with a 16-0 lead in Houston or with 13 seconds left in KC. Maybe tell Farwell to stay put as you run out on the field with your ST and tell them EXACTLY what you want them to do. Last year I'll chalk it up to "Hamlin exhaustion". But Sean is quickly running out of excuses. Farwell takes the fall in 21, Leslie in 22. Is it Dorsey's turn in 23? Josh would have to play out of his mind to cover up some of these game management warts.

I will be floored if Kincaid doesn't become the long term solution in the slot. And I think he will absolutely kill it there. I see Shakir sliding in to absorb the WR3 duties once Gabe is gone. The question remains who plays WR2?
-
Yup, outside of Josh and the 1st round pick we used on Diggs, it's been awhile. Dareus and Oliver were real disappointments. I say spend the majority of your cap money on offense and build a competent D with hungry lower tier players. Unless a sure thing DE drops in our lap it's full steam ahead surrounding JA with talent.
-
Shakir wasn't the only one who's reps were down. This team has talent. Dorsey just has to demand from Josh that he spreads the wealth and doesn't just go to Diggs all the time.

Why did Isaiah McKenzie fail as starting Slot WR?
LABILLBACKER replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup, as we experienced last season Daboll is worlds ahead of Dorsey. It just felt like no one was schemed up last year. Just a "go out and get open" gameplan. -

That week 1 drop/int. against the Rams kinda set the tone for Isaiah. He just never settled into the slot role. He was just a gadget guy who would have a rare outlier big game. No consistency. -
He didn't even try to engage his man.
-
Reason for optimism Josh Allen Reason for pessimism Sean McDermott
-
And why did he allow Frazier to run it for the last 3 years while KC & Cincy dismantled us in the playoffs. In theory McD should be more aggressive and willing to call more press coverage opportunities. But assuming it happens and actually seeing it are 2 different things. Sean has no one left to take the fall (Farwell, Frazier).

Bills signing OT Brandon Shell from miami
LABILLBACKER replied to dreadlox's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm shocked Brown isn't in the 40's. He's not long for this team if he plays like he did last year. Watch that week 3 Tua game. It's almost laughable. -

I don't know who or what is the answer for RT, but I do know both Brown or Quessenberry will get Josh hurt. Guaranteed! -
The line will be slightly improved. But if you had witnessed the week 3 abomination of Spencer Brown pretending to play RT, you'd pass out. He literally let his man beat him immediately off the snap. And if Kromer thinks he'll magically improve post ankle, he's dreaming.
-
Alot of accurate assessments. His game management has only slightly improved during the regular season. But I still have little faith in him outscoring teams during the playoffs. It's as if he relies the his players' athleticism to take over. As a distributor of process, culture and player relationships I would definitely call him great. His 4th aggressiveness is appreciated. I'm excited he's taking control of the defense. There's just this underlying fear His lack of game management (13 sec) will rear it's ugly head and cost us another playoff game.

Belichick needed Brady to win rings. And Andy needed Mahomes. Sean has had Josh for 5 full years and managed to struggle in the playoffs. You can't deny that McD is not the tactician or strategist that these 2 coaches are. Especially in high leverage playoff games. I don't want change for the sake of change. I just don't want to re-live watching Sean get outcoached like Marv. And waste the greatest qb this team is likely to ever have. Sorry but I'm not waiting around 14 years (Andy) for Sean to figure it out.

Yes, Marty Schottenheimer. He lost in the playoffs 4 straight years with Cleveland and went on to lose 7 playoff seasons with KC. Sean has 5 down, 6 to go?
