I did see a blatant hold by KC late on a running play. Hands on the outside of the shoulder pads. The CIN defender flailed his arms a bit to no avail. I had no issues with the way the Bills game was called though. Maybe saw one PI that they missed.

They did it all last season ( 2020) and scoring was up across the board. Rating were too. This year they started with Offensive holding and taunting as “ points of emphasis”. Flag fests resulted. For these playoffs they seem to have reverted to the old playoffs. Flag happy Refs like Boger were cut off from playoff games. Result= more enjoyable product on the field.

He’s a WCO guy, and I just don’t think Josh is a WCO type QB. New system = step back in Championship mode.

Bills coaches were awful for 13 seconds, otherwise that games a win. Would it be nice to beat em by 20 again? Sure, but Tre White May have changed some of their ideas. Bengals got to OT and made a play. The Bills game should have ended in regulation with even a decent strategy and execution.

Goes back many years , really to the 90’s Cowboys era. Those Cowboys teams were stacked on the DL, so their line kept fresh was overwhelming. Gotta have the quality for it to matter.

It is and it happens sometimes. Seems like Burrow was sacked every 3rd dropback laat week. Teams get hot and go on a run though. Not the first time or the last.

Their D continued a hot streak with takeaways. Looks like they got Mahomes a few times. No magic bullets here. No mythical secret strategy. Guys just have to step up and make plays. The Bills D didn’t do that. The Bengals gave up the tying points ( thought they didn’t only have to defend for 13 measly seconds)and lost the toss in OT. They took the ball away , kick , Super Bowl.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love for the Bills to GET a bye. But it’s tougher than it used to be and I think it’s possible with the AFC QBs that the Bills only manage to get it or once / twice or even never throughout Allen’s career. Can’t be a requirement in order to reach a Super Bowl or host an AFCC game. They were the 3 and absolutely should have hosted AFCC today. Have to fight and get there regardless of seeding.

Was it exceptional coaching when the Bills went 5-1 in one score games last season? Or did the players execute a little better and maybe benefit from some good fortune? The coaching was terrible in the now infamous 13 seconds, but the Bills went 0-6 in close games and still lost just 3 more than last season weeks 1-17

I’m obviously biased, but I my eyes tell me that Allen at his best is just a bit better than the others. Some of it is freak physicality and some of it is will to win.

It’s the goal, but it’s not an excuse if you don’t reach the AFCC game. Only one team gets the bye and for the second straight year at least one of those teams will not make the Super Bowl. Overrated.

Don’t need a leader, just an elite guy in the front 7 that makes big plays. Preferably the front 4.

I agree. If you can have a successful formula for a road playoff win it would probably include a. Withstand the initial onslaught by the home team b. Score TDs in the red zone c. Make 2 or 3 game big plays on defense . The Bills failed to make any big impact plays on defense. They may have escaped the OT and tactical blunders if they made one in OT . The Bengals did and they moved on. Same scenario ( tie game, lost toss) and they stepped up.

Good for the Bengals. Definitely makes the Bills loss easier ( a little bit) to take. I still think the Bills would have bea the Bengals in OP because Josh is just better and his rushing / passing would be too much for them. Can’t comment on their defense too much as I didn’t see any of the game except the final few minutes. All 22 will tell the story. Good news is maybe there won’t be so much Mahomes GOAT talk now. Chiefs fans needed some misery.

Yep. I’d pass on him after the fiasco with Indy, but I think his work has been impressive. More so than any of the previous NE staff hires. I also thought Flores did a good job, but clearly had some issues with ownership. He shouldn’t have been fired imo.

The model is you bring in staff from successful teams in the league. The results of that model have more to do with the individual than anything else. Some do well and some don’t. It’s not as if a potential HC is destined to fail because of who they worked under previously.

If you win a lot you will lose staff to other teams. Not any different than what’s happening to the Bills now. McDaniels has had a couple long stints in NE. I’ve always thought his offensive schemes were pretty impressive. I believe our STs were ranked in the top five again by the Dallas Morning News this season. Pretty much the last word on NFL STs rankings fwiw

Getting the # 1 seed might not happen with the QBs in the AFC. Fact is, the Bills had as good a look at a SB title as they may see. 13 seconds from the de facto #1 seed as they’d be hosting the AFCC game. Rodgers and Brady were knocked out of it in the NFC. Makes the collapse even more painful.
