Bills Players Kneeling in End Zone

It is that kind of language I would like to have disappear. Glad you did that -
He's on the leadership council. He is an excellent blocker and good contributor on special teams. He stays.

Fitzpatrick officially named starter in Miami

I agree there is a ways to go. We'll see. Right now though it would seem Rosen may not have been the best pick. I wonder if it's his attitude or something more on the physical side. -

Rosen is 0 for 2 now as far as franchises. -

I wanted Watson the year before the Rosen/Allen draft, and I'm not sure he'll be as good as I thought now. And I really wanted Rosen over Allen. Good thing I'm not an NFL GM. Good thing most of us aren't. -
But they will move on to other forms of work and work for 50 years. I feel for the guys getting cut because for most it is the end of a dream. That has to be tough. But let's not go overboard and suggest they can't go on to productive lives in other ways.

Bills Players Kneeling in End Zone
oldmanfan replied to Bills4Ever4Life's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
while this thread has nothing to do with football and should be moved to the politics section, I have to say it is a microcosm of what the problem is with our country today. Instead of talking TO each other, we talk AT each other. Instead of being able to realize that people can have different opinions on a given topic, and that it doesn't make them evil either way, we jump on folks who dare to speak something we don't agree with. For the record, I think it's great players kneel down and pray before and after games; at the end of games I think it's great that the teams come together to do so. I am religious and like that, but if you're not and you don't like it then that is fine by me. I simply disagree. As for the anthem I always stand at games, take my hat off and face the flag as a show of respect. I do not think it's a sign of trashing our military if a player decides to kneel during the anthem as a sign of protest against what he believes in mistreatment of minorities, he has a perfect right to do that so long as his employer is OK with him using company time as it were to do so. I know some veterans whose blood boils at that, and I respect their thoughts on it, just as I know some veterans who believe they fought just so a player can choose to exercise his convictions in that manner. And I respect their thoughts on the subject as well. No one here is evil because they have a different opinion than you. They simply have a different opinion. We have to get to a point in this country where we all understand that, or we're going to fall apart. -
Jadeveon Clowney could miss regular-season games

You’d lose -
I don’t listen to Mike Schopp, I have no idea what he said or didn’t say, and thus you’re wrong again.
-
No, you’re wrong. People here are blasting McD for not taking him because he had this one great season that no one would have predicted. One season. If you tell me you thought Mahomes would have had the season he had last year in his first full season I call BS.
-
You and others need to read. If any team saw that Mahomes would have the year he had last year, they would have spent the farm to move up to # 1 to get him. No one did including Reid. And the reason they didn’t is because Mahomes had flaws coming out. Anyone who says they knew Mahomes would be the guy we saw last year pre-draft is full of it.
-
And I wanted Watson. My statement was that no one saw the kind of season Mahomes had last year before the draft. And I stand by that. If they had every team in the league would have tried to move up to the # 1 pick to grab him.
-
Tell you what. Go back through your post history and copy the one you posted before the 2017 draft saying Mahomes would be a star. Or pipe down. There were concerns about Mahomes in terms of his footwork and his coming out of an offensive scheme that had never produced an NFL quality QB. He had a great season last year, and no one would have seen it coming that early in his career before the 2017 draft. And if you say you did you’re not telling the truth, that simple. This retrospective critique stuff is fun to do. I still cringe over the Lamonica trade. But it accomplishes nothing. It lets people who have nowhere near the data teams have a reason to beeyatch.
-
Was Mahomes a can't miss pick? if so why wasn't every team maneuvering to get the # 1 pick to take him? If Reaid felt that way why didn't he?
-
No they didn’t. You want to continue to make a point that is not necessarily valid. You assume Allen will not be as good as Mahomes based on one season. And you continue to indict our guys but ignore that every other team in the league could have drafted Mahomes. Do you indict them all as well?
-
Your take is flawed. One could easily say every team in the NFL made a terrible mistake not drafting Tom Brady. They all should have traded up to the #1 spot to get him, including New England. Same with Montana. Your take also ignores what was going on with that draft. No one, I repeat, no one, thought Mahomes would have the kind of season he had last year. Coming out there were concerns with his footwork and that he was coming from a system that had never produced a decent NFL QB. Your take also shows inconsistency in judgement. You seem to dismiss Allen based on his rookie season, and at the same time you want to anoint Mahomes as savior because of one really great year. What if Allen steps up this season , and Mahomes regresses? I do a lot of research and statistical work; an N of 1 is hardly enough on which to base conclusions. McDermott and Beane have done a good job drafting talent thus far. The talent is young and will have to develop, but kids like Edmunds, Allen, Oliver, ford et al look like they should have long productive careers.
