  1. I messed up. I was thinking 1974 and just realized they had the 1980 game. My bad!
  2. Fantastic news for WNY and all Bills fans! I was 4 years old at the first ever game in the Rockpile, made it to my seat in 1973 for the first ever game at Rich Stadium just before kickoff (which off course Mul-Key returns for a TD), and will God willing be there for the first ever game in the new stadium. My grandchildren (if I have any) will be able to maintain the tradition of being Bills fans going to the games in Buffalo!!
  3. It was the season opener after OJ's 2000 yard season. OJ held out but re-signed just before the game. The opening Monday night game of the year against the Raiders. OJ sprians his ankle and is out the second half. Fergy hits Rashad to go ahead 14-13 with just under 2 minutes to play, we hold and get the ball back, but the Jim Braxton fumbles and Art Thoms recovers and runs it back to score, so now we're down 20-14. We get the ball back, Fergy (then a second year pro who spent his entire rookie year handing off to OJ), starts throwing the ball and marches us down the field. With 26 seconds left he hits Rashad for the score to put us up 21-20, and they then take the kickoff and get Blanda set up for a long FG to win it with 6 seconds left. And he misses! Most exciting last two minutes of football I've ever seen.
  4. Best football game I've ever seen live. And I was there for Stratton's Hit.
  5. You want to be a major league sports city, it’s the price you have to pay. Not saying it makes financial sense but it’s just reality.
  6. They bring a guard or two in, you’ll switch to complaining about CBs. They solve that you’ll beeyatch about the punter or something else. Everyone gets your little act by now.
  7. Good point
  8. Just a fun off season diversion
  9. I always felt Littman was poisonous to the organization
  10. I think they like Cam Lewis. I fully anticipate a CB picked in day 1 or 2.
  11. I wonder if Tre is ahead of schedule on his ACL rehab. That might explain not going after a CB in free agency.
  12. A blind tweet from where?
  13. I have always felt that, when Ralph was getting older, it was Littman who screwed things up. He had a small percentage ownership stake so he wanted to save $$.
  14. Back in the day many criticized Overdorf when we didn’t keep guys or sign FAs. But I always believed he was just carrying out what the cheap SOB Littman wanted. But Overdorf as the cap guy (along with Beane of course) now has really done a heckuva job this offseason. Props to him.
  15. I believe I read somewhere that after they met with Josh in Wyoming they decided he was the guy they wanted.
  16. I defer to your legal expertise, but wonder if having a grand jury in Texas, where conservatism and fealty to football abound, had anything to do with the failure to find criminal liability.
  17. Such sad news. A real pro.
  18. Some didn’t get over Vick either.
  19. He’ll need the extra money to pay off his victims.
  20. I suspect they will match whatever offer. They saw how much better the line played with Bates in there and they need the backup C..
  21. Beaser was a real asset for the offense. I did not agree with his covid stance, but he was one of the best at his position and a key element of the offense. But as I've said before, as Bill Walsh used to say better to get rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late. And with Ike coming back, the $$ can probably be better spent on a CB or another interior O lineman.
  22. Still clearing the space he’d need to make a big signing, if he sees the right guy.
