  1. You saw him more?
  2. Daboll and zen are two concepts that don’t belong together. I can see trust, however.
  3. Something with extra refried beans. Call it “Let’s Ride Refried”. I can stink up the place along with the team.
  4. Easy to lie with statistics. Easier to lie without them.
  5. My take on the lack of scheming aspect was that, if Josh looked the wrong way or even if he looked the correct way and the defense played it well, the other concept is as far away as possible (other side of the field). If they are getting two high all day, maybe that’s not the best plan? Further, there’s always a lot of “two high concept that side” “alt concept other side”. Repeat. That has a brutal efficiency to it, but certainly cannot be mistaken with creativity or even really a stressing of the defense. To me, scheming also means playing a mind game or two with specific defenders, but maybe that isn’t quite right or perhaps just asking too much? Or perhaps my layman arse just can’t appreciate those that are occurring.
  6. I always bristle at this kind of take. EPA is showing exactly what it was designed to show. This is a very efficient offense. Therefore, not garbage. I would love to see some sort of metric that aims to capture the rhythm of an offense. The Bills might be dead last in such a stat.
  7. A very nice video from Cover1. About midway through, he makes a point that really resonates with me. He tries to explain what the Bills’ players mean by ‘we just have to execute the offense’ or ‘we just have to run the plays that are called.’ The Bills are not scheming. They’re not trying to pick on specific weaknesses of the opposing defense. Instead, they are running an offense that is supposed to work against any defense. If that’s the case, then why bother scheming? We have been seeing the ramifications of that approach. The Bills’ offense is incredibly efficient because they can do well against any defensive call at just about any time. However, the lack of scheming also takes pressure off of defenses. There’s no “you’re only as strong as your weakest link” when facing the Bills because they don’t prepare to exploit your weakest link. Further, every play begins to stand alone, rather than comprise a full set of plays that is a drive. Combined with the fact that so little is planned for when the Bills have to go off script, the Bills have just taken away everything that makes Josh an alien. They aren’t prepared for big off-script plays. They, almost by design, do not find a rhythm within a drive, and they sometimes hammer their heads against a defense’s strength rather than scheming against weaknesses. So very frustrating.
  8. Sucks, but these Bills are officially pretenders. Sucks.
  9. Gonna need to force a turnover. Ugh.
  10. Choosing to enjoy the fact that the Bills are in a big game tonight rather than fretting over what will be. At least that’s what I keep telling myself to do…
  11. Yes, but for every big play in every game. I especially hate those flags that fly a few seconds after the play ends.
  12. I am a Knox fan. Love that he is a Bill. But Kincaid looked great tonight and the Bills offense looked great with him.
  13. That drive was so freaking cathartic.
  14. The pitch to Kincaid was a good call, but that shotgun snap sucked!
  15. What if we give the alien a cold?…
  16. Floating tailgates!
  17. Looking forward to watching the Bills on the Prime Vision feed.
  18. I recall the anecdote about how McD was let go in Philly. He was replacing the late great Jim Johnson as their DC. A really tough act to follow for a young coordinator. Upon letting McD go, Andy Reid had told McD something like ‘I’m doing this for you.’ That has to be playing in McD’s mind. Another young coordinator that’s replacing someone that, while not legendary, has certainly had success. Of course, McD must also be considering that Reid himself was let go not too long after.
  19. I wish Knox a full and speedy recovery.
  20. The way Kincaid prepares his body to run after the catch is very impressive. Most guys that try to look ahead end up dropping balls. I don’t know how Kincaid manages to have the hands he does while also preparing to run during the process of a catch. It’s very special. He has some very nice YAC numbers given the way he has been used so far.
  21. Knox is a really good dude. As in, sign the extra autograph for that kid over there kind of good dude. (Have seen him do that a lot.) Really wish he could put it all together. He has never been consistent.
  22. At times it does feel like there is a lifelessness that permeates this team.
  23. If anything, the Bills need to be sellers at the deadline. This team is not championship caliber. No use in being one and done in the playoffs.
