  1. When McD was the DC in Carolina, they had a complete refresh of the DB’s that did not go so well. It coincided with Norman’s exit, I believe. I seem to recall McD being asked about it early on during his Bills’ tenure. He made a remark that he felt the lack of continuity of leadership in the position group hurt more than he had anticipated. With that in mind, I could see the Bills hanging onto one of Hyde or Poyer for at least one additional season. I have a hard time seeing how both will be back, however. That pairing has, unfortunately, run its course.
  2. I wasn’t clear. I have seen them line up Offside only to check with the ref and have the ref give that little hand signal. The WR is looking over to the ref for the exact reason you highlighted, but I have seen the exchange occur because of the WR’s initial mistake. It wasn’t the intent, but it happens.
  3. I seem to recall seeing on broadcasts several instances (over like 20 years) where the WR looks to the sideline and the ref gives him a subtle wave of the hand that conveys a message of “back up a step” to get the WR back onside. If Toney had just bothered to look, he likely would have received the same courtesy. It was Toney’s mistake.
  4. Are you referring to the offensive play calls on the Bills’ final drive?
  5. Yes! Especially BUF over DAL, right? …RIGHT?!
  6. Easy to be classy when one is winning. I am curious how Mahomes would handle significant adversity. I seriously think he could blow up in a very negative way. It’s just a hunch is all.
  7. You know what… you’re right! Mahomes might just end up being more annoying.
  8. This is who Mahomes is. Remember how infuriating it was to see Brady constantly complain all those years when he was on the Patriots***? That’s what we can expect from Mahomes.
  9. Toney never checked with the ref. WRs ALWAYS check with the ref on their placement. Just look at Diggs… he does it all the time. Toney is just a bonehead - that’s where Mr Mahomes anger should be placed.
  10. Yes! You described it perfectly! What a roller coaster! Feels good to be on this side of one of those.
  11. The playoffs just got more probable.
  12. Joe Brady just laid a massive turd. Didn't take a single TO from KC. Unbelievable. Diggs laid a turd too. He didn’t help us AT ALL. Catch the ball. Draw the flag. Come on, man!
  13. If AJ Brown didn’t fumble two weeks ago, that’s not a catch.
  14. Oh come on… he’s good for at least one crippling encroachment!
  15. AJ was out there, but now he’s banged up, too. I agree, but not sure where else they go at this point.
  16. Gabe’s job on that toss was to be in the middle and he drifted to the back. Had he stood his ground, he could have been a hero just now.
  17. Benford may be having his worst game of his career.
  18. I don’t think that was a defensive TO. I think that was a “let’s preserve some time for Josh TO.”
  19. I see you have no actual response. Thats because this “journalistic” piece was done all wrong. It can be boiled down to two words, “hatchet job.”
  20. Agreed. We need to bring all perspectives. Folks that have been fired and cut… that brings such a three-dimensional perspective. A host of anonymous comments about someone else’s accountability is SUCH a great service to the fan base!
  21. 25 former coaches, players, and other personnel speak anonymously about someone else’s accountability. Ha! I loathe everything about this.
  22. Classic Patriots*** call
  23. Beane had to completely sidestep the question about Araiza. I think it was from Tim Graham? There really isn’t a satisfactory answer. The Bills’ top leadership is in an unenviable position. How to balance the need to win without becoming complete hypocrites. Some folks already believe one or more of them to be hypocrites. This is the kind of situation that could eventually convince more to join that chorus. I need to look back at some of the Araiza-based press conferences. Beane today kept saying that the Bills were not investigators and that they would follow the league’s lead. That struck me as a very different process than the one highlighted during the Araiza situation, where it seemed the Bills did more of their own investigating/decision making. Maybe that perception is wrong? Maybe the Bills and/or the league have changed their process since then? I don’t know… ‘Following the league’s lead’ just rang hollow to me. I know one thing - if I were in the Bills brass’ shoes, I’d be royally pissed with Von.
