  1. I don't get it. Are you saying you don’t want to hear anything, regardless of whether or not it’s true? For example, Von really is coming off of a major injury. What is so wrong about stating that fact? ”Lie to me, Brandon!” ~Some Bills Fans I will never understand getting upset at what is said during press conferences. Believe nothing of what you hear and half of what you see.
  2. I second this motion. All in favor?
  3. I would like to see the record broken out not by one score games, but games in which the team had a two score lead at any point in the second half.
  4. Zone can work, just not the way the Bills play it in the clutch moments.
  5. I was completely OK with how Jordan Phillips played it. The Eagles’ success rate is so high on that play that trying to jump the snap makes sense. Failing to time it just right, make the infraction count. That might be the only way to change the Eagles’ math.
  6. Not sure I agree about AJ. Thought he had some nice moments yesterday. Thought he should have been on the field instead of Von at the end.
  7. Eh… this is just coach speak. What McD says there doesn’t really matter. Consistent failures of the defense in clutch moments does matter. It matters significantly.
  8. The Bills’ HC position might not be as appealing as we believe it to be - for the simple fact that we believe it to be so appealing. Anyone that steps into the job will be expected to win the Super Bowl during their first season. There would be no honeymoon.
  9. McD has spent years studying the OT coin flip. Ever since 13 seconds, actually. That’s why it made more sense to kneel and go to the flip. They nailed it, too! I just wish they had also studied playing defense in overtime as well…
  10. Even if the Bills do somehow end up in the playoffs, one can easily envision their exit being similar to today’s outcome. It may actually be the most likely outcome of all possibilities.
  11. All out blitz with a gassed, struggling defense. Wrong call again (thinking about the Broncos game). Time to replace the DC. Maybe a new play caller can do what Brady did for the offense?
  12. Legitimate to ask if these refs are on the take. This is really, really bad.
  13. This is the most lopsided reffing job yet this season.
  14. This roster is about to change in big ways. The Bills will still have Josh Allen… maybe that’s enough?
  15. I loathe the word “accountability”. It is one of those words that people use and assume that others know what they mean. Except they don’t. In fact, I think very few people have the same definition of “accountability”. Anytime I hear it, it is like nails on the chalkboard. Regardless of who says it - McD, a TBD poster, or my mother.
  16. How good is the Jests’ kicker? Is he like… make it within two tries good? Cause if so, I’m not very optimistic.
  17. You saw him more?
  18. Daboll and zen are two concepts that don’t belong together. I can see trust, however.
  19. Something with extra refried beans. Call it “Let’s Ride Refried”. I can stink up the place along with the team.
  20. Easy to lie with statistics. Easier to lie without them.
  21. My take on the lack of scheming aspect was that, if Josh looked the wrong way or even if he looked the correct way and the defense played it well, the other concept is as far away as possible (other side of the field). If they are getting two high all day, maybe that’s not the best plan? Further, there’s always a lot of “two high concept that side” “alt concept other side”. Repeat. That has a brutal efficiency to it, but certainly cannot be mistaken with creativity or even really a stressing of the defense. To me, scheming also means playing a mind game or two with specific defenders, but maybe that isn’t quite right or perhaps just asking too much? Or perhaps my layman arse just can’t appreciate those that are occurring.
  22. I always bristle at this kind of take. EPA is showing exactly what it was designed to show. This is a very efficient offense. Therefore, not garbage. I would love to see some sort of metric that aims to capture the rhythm of an offense. The Bills might be dead last in such a stat.
  23. A very nice video from Cover1. About midway through, he makes a point that really resonates with me. He tries to explain what the Bills’ players mean by ‘we just have to execute the offense’ or ‘we just have to run the plays that are called.’ The Bills are not scheming. They’re not trying to pick on specific weaknesses of the opposing defense. Instead, they are running an offense that is supposed to work against any defense. If that’s the case, then why bother scheming? We have been seeing the ramifications of that approach. The Bills’ offense is incredibly efficient because they can do well against any defensive call at just about any time. However, the lack of scheming also takes pressure off of defenses. There’s no “you’re only as strong as your weakest link” when facing the Bills because they don’t prepare to exploit your weakest link. Further, every play begins to stand alone, rather than comprise a full set of plays that is a drive. Combined with the fact that so little is planned for when the Bills have to go off script, the Bills have just taken away everything that makes Josh an alien. They aren’t prepared for big off-script plays. They, almost by design, do not find a rhythm within a drive, and they sometimes hammer their heads against a defense’s strength rather than scheming against weaknesses. So very frustrating.
  24. Sucks, but these Bills are officially pretenders. Sucks.
