  1. What a fricking BS call that was! I wish you could challenge calls like that.
  2. Thanks for posting the detailed correction. It's helpful. Hard to find info on his Bills contract, as like you said spotrac and over the cap updated immediately after the trade.
  3. I don't think this is true, is it? Dareus' cap hit for the Bills this year was around $16M. The only reason it's listed at $5M for the Jags is because the Bills already paid a big chunk of it (and that stays on our cap) I don't remember the exact figure but His 2018 cap hit for the Bills would have been over $14 or $16M. By trading Dareus the Bills save $5.7M on the cap this year and they save $2M on the cap next year, so I don't see how they would have had $10M more in cap space next year by keeping him...? Edit - here's a breakdown I found from 2015. I'm not sure if it's 100% correct or not. I'll have to look around some more. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-analysis-all-22/2015/9/12/9310199/marcell-dareus-contract-details-buffalo-bills-full-breakdown
  4. The dead cap hit next season is $14M, but then he's off the books completely after that. We gain almost $6M in cap savings this year (that I am guessing is probably most likely to be rolled over into next year), and $2.3M next year.
  5. I find it is a good idea not to make new threads or post too much when I am emotional over a decision the Bills just made. Just saying is all... And IMO there is no way you can say Beane is in the top 3 worst GM's when he hasn't even made a single draft pick yet. He hired a top notch scouting and personnel staff (on paper). IMO it looks to be the best front office/scouting staff we've had in a long time. This team will be built through the draft. So until we see how they build through the draft we can't really judge. Plus as of now I really trust McDermott and he trusts Beane. We also know that McD has been trying to trade Dareus since the offseason. From what I've read there is good reason. Dareus wasn't buying in, wasn't putting in the work, had to have Kyle Williams telling him the play calls and what he's supposed to be doing. That's unacceptable at his salary level. There was obviously things going on behind the scenes that we were not privy to... IMO You need your highest paid players to be leaders on the team, because they are usually going to be looked at as leaders anyway just because of their salary.
  6. What type of bugs does it have?
  7. What is this ios11 issue? I was planning on updating my iPad Pro to ios11 today. Should I wait for more bugs to be worked out first?
  8. http://buffalonews.com/2017/10/24/pegulas-absorbing-costs-hold-funeral-keybank-center/ Wasn't sure where to put this - As the title says. Pretty classy move IMO. I'd guess it cost them a pretty penny to do this.
  9. Eagles traded up from #13 to #8 with Miami before they traded with the Browns. Just going from #8 to #2 cost the Eagles 5 picks - two 1sts, a 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Plus the 3 players traded to secure 2 of those picks. Their #1 CB (Byron Maxwell), a starting LB (Kiko Alonso) + #13 to Miami for #8, and #1 RB (Demarco Murray) to Tennessee for another pick used in the trade. They had been trying to get the #2 pick since January. They were dead set on getting one of the top 2 QBs. With the Bills sitting at #19, I'd think it would have cost us quite a bit more, and even then it may have been hard to beat out the Eagles. The Browns could have easily chose to only fall back to #8 instead of #19, or it could have turned into a bidding war that would be easier for the Eagles to win with a much higher 1st to trade back. To assume we could have had him is a guess at best. Also, wasn't there rumors that Whaley actually did try to trade to #2 or something like that? For all we know he did try and got beat out by the Eagles.
  10. I can understand wanting to trade Dareus. I mean, I'd prefer they continue to work with him and try to get him playing at an elite level again, that way at least they could maybe get a decent pick for him if they still decided he should be moved. I'm not sure if Dareus has the drive to be great anymore, after his big payday though. So I get wanting to move on. But Glenn I just don't understand. Yeah he's got a high cap hit but other than that why trade him? Even then they'd be left with a large dead cap hit for a couple years IIRC, so they wouldn't be gaining back a ton of cap space right away anyways (and his cap hit drops to $12M after 2018). I know availability is a big thing with this new regime. But Until this foot injury he has hardly ever missed a game. He has been a very reliable player, availability wise as well as his play on the field. Left Tackle's of his caliber are not exactly easy to find. If Glenn is traded, it better be for an offer too good to refuse...
  11. They didn't have one left.
  12. What in the F was that? Terrible play. What were they thinking on that play call? What was Tyrod thinking throwing it where he did? Freaking horrible. Ugh.
  13. Why does Tyrod constantly insist on going for the very low percentage home run plays on 3rd down? We needed a 1st. Plus his long ball has been terrible so far today. Why not go for a higher percentage play? Tyrod's decision making has been questionable today.
  14. https://thehockeywriters.com/eichel-leading-mcdavid-matthews/ Anyone see this article on Eichel vs McDavid & Matthews? I don't agree with everything in it (McDavid easily has as big or bigger impact for Edmonton) but it does give a good idea of the impact Eichel has for Buffalo. Yeah I would say the first 5 games he was very bad. The last 4 he has been much better IMO, and especially the last 3. I'd even say he's probably been our best player in 2 of the last 4. It's great to see him back to normal. We need him Its funny, every year ROR starts out slow and every year I complain about him and wonder what the heck happened to the ROR we knew. Then all the sudden he's back to his normal self. I think he's just a notoriously slow starter. He was like that almost every year in Colorado too. I guess I need to learn not to freak out when he inevitably starts the season out slow... lol.
  15. What a comeback win!! Not so good 1st period, but they really started playing well for parts of the 2nd and pretty much the entire 3rd. They just relentlessly attacked and kept sustained pressure. It was exciting to watch (for a change). Now THAT is what this team is capable of when everyone is giving an effort and playing within the system. They kept things more simple tonight. More dump and chase, good cycling of the puck, and actually setting up goal scoring opportunities. Guys actually getting to the front of the net. Great game. I was ready to turn it off after period 1, but I couldn't bring myself to do it (never can, it's a problem. lol). Sure glad I didn't... Oh man I hope this gives them a much needed confidence boost. They need it so badly. It's crazy what a role confidence plays in hockey. Please let this be the spark that starts our comeback. Great to see ROR back to playing well, too. We need him playing the way he has been the last few games. He's a notoriously slow starter every year, so I don't know why I'm always surprised when he starts slow... lol.
  16. He makes it look like he's playing a video game. Unreal. I hate Edmonton for stealing him from us. lol
  17. “I love this locker room. The change, just the atmosphere around here is unbelievable compared to last year and the year before. I think we’re moving in the right direction,” Groy said. Good stuff.
  18. Really good article. I love this kid. IMO it really says something about the type of person he is and how much he cares when he had to leave the locker room because he was crying after the game. He felt that bad about a few mistakes and put it on himself that the Bills lost. He seems driven as hell to get better, too. McDermott and Beane really seem to put an emphasis on finding players like this. I think it bodes well for the future. I could also see guys like Tre being the type that would want to stick around Buffalo when their rookie deal is up, because they care so much and are all about the team. I could see them wanting to commit here long term. Like Kyle Williams. I mean, I don't know if he will or not, but I think we have a lot better chance at keeping a guy like Tre than a guy with a personality like Gilmore...
  19. Haha. No sorry you have no effect on me. It's just fun pointing out how hypocritical and full of crap you are is all.
  20. Says the guy who completely dismisses the rape claims made against Trump (in court, none the less) as made up. Also, did you know about the women who came forward to Gloria Allred about sexual assault by Trump? And that she's currently representing (at least) one in a lawsuit against him? https://lawnewz.com/video/watch-live-gloria-allred-press-conference-with-woman-suing-trump-for-sexual-harassment/ https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/oct/27/gloria-allred-lawyer-donald-trump-sexual-assault https://www.metro.us/president-trump/sexual-assault-trump-subpoena-apprentice-summer-zervos https://pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/zervos-trump-memo-of-opposition-sept-19-2017-wm.pdf http://www.gloriaallred.com/Gloria-s-Videos-and-Statements/#Expando220 I'm sure Trump and his businesses being sued at least 20 times for sexual harassment and discrimination are all made up too... I just find it hilarious how you have no trouble at all immediately believing accusers of Clinton and Weinstein (which I also believe to be true), yet refuse to even consider those double digit numbers of women accusing trump of rape or sexual assault + discrimination. And you go even further as to dismiss Trump himself bragging on tape of just walking up and grabbing women by the p**** or kissing them (you know, the same thing some of these women are saying he did in their sexual assault accusations) as meaningless.
  21. What was his other option? Anthony Lynn left for LA and so did Aaron Kromer. Kromer' contract was up with the Bills. From what I've heard they did try to keep him and that both Buffalo and LA made a strong push for him but he wanted to go to LA. We know McDermott went after Mike McCoy as his 1st choice for OC. Then it was rumored that he went after Brad Childress and Greg Olsen. I don't know if he offered Olsen the job but I read Childress turned him down to stay in KC. Then he finally landed on Dennison. I am not even sure how much is Dennison's fault. Juan Castillo is the O line coach and run game coordinator. I have heard McDermott credit him with putting together the run scheme multiple times. It's not like our offense didn't need improvement. We were last in the NFL as a passing offense and we struggled to move the ball at key times during games as well as against tough opponents. Dennison doesn't have a whole lot to work with at the moment either. You can blame the front office for switching to a zone blocking scheme though. The front office staff wasn't even hired yet when this coaching staff was hired. I believe Shaley was still here at that time.
  22. I really hope they don't trade Glenn. Before this current injury he has been a very reliable, and very good, LT. I know this new regime is all about availability but IIRC Glenn hardly missed a game until this foot injury. It's just unfortunate that it continued into this season. Glad to hear thr asking price was high. I wouldn't give him up for less than a 1st (and maybe a player too, but I'm not sure how realistic that is). I'd rather just keep him though. He doesn't seem to be a problem on or off the field, or have any attitude issues etc. Beside his relatively high cap hit (which I am ok with) I don't really see any reason why they'd want to get rid of him anyway.
  23. Glad they're at least giving Henderson a chance. Hopefully he can knock the rust off quickly, earn a starting job and be an upgrade somewhere on the O line.
  24. Here is my opinion - Just because it's looking like the Sabres won't make the playoffs this year doesn't mean we need to start over again. We just started over like 4 years ago and it was on an epic scale. It's not the type of thing you just recover from in a few seasons. We are barely out of the tank years... dumping good young players only sets the timeline back even further. I didn't think ROR was garbage last year. Not at all. He wasn't as good as he was year 1 but he was still damn good and his season still qualifies as that of a #1 C. He started the year out with a back injury too, and I don't think it ever got the chance to heal, especially with Bylsma using him for every single face off. I know you said you don't want to hear about his minutes, but that is a thing. He faced some of the toughest QOC in the NHL, while playing damn near the most minutes of any forward. You trade ROR and you leave a huge hole at #1 or #2 C. As Eichel takes over the #1 C role, and ROR takes that #2 spot he will be one of the better/best #2C's in the NHL. He's a borderline #1C and a very strong #2C. We seen for YEARS with the old Sabres teams how hard it was to find top line centers. It was our biggest weakness before the tank and a huge reason why the Sabres tanked in the first place. Now we finally have some good C depth and you want to trade it away for anything you can get? No thanks. Top centers are just as hard to come by as top defenseman. When you have them you usually don't trade them, and for good reason. Also, it's not fair to compare Buffalo to Toronto. They did not do the same type of tear down rebuild we did. They did a retool. They had been rebuilding and drafting high since 2007-08 (outside of one good year IIRC) and they kept a lot of those players from previous teams who are impact players for them now. Where as Buffalo completely turned over their roster on a scale that is hardly ever seen in the NHL. Our longest tenured player is Zemgus Girgensons who's been here 4 going in 5 seasons. So Toronto has a 5 year jump on us the way I look at it. Plus they hired possibly the best coach in the NHL during their one tank year and are also gifted the 1st overall pick that one last place year (something the Sabres never got). New Jersey also did not do the same type of rebuild Buffalo did, and it's only been 5 or so games. Buffalo once went on a 10-3 run with their tank team, so let's not crown them yet. They do look exciting so far, though. It would be more accurate to compare Buffalo to the rebuilds of teams like Pittsburgh or Chicago, who struggled and rebuilt for many years before climbing out of it. Chicago had 4 losing seasons followed by 1 playoff appearance, then 5 more losing seasons before they made the conference finals in '08-'09 and won the Cup the following year. Pittsburgh had 4 straight years of #1 or #2 overall picks, where they got literally the best player in the world and another top 5 NHL player. Pittsburgh wasn't even stripped as bare as Buffalo was, either. BTW, I am not opposed to good hockey trades (player for player) that make Buffalo a better team right away. But they should absolutely not even be thinking about trading guys like ROR or Reinhart for whatever they can get, or even for draft picks. That would just set us back even further.
