  1. I'm still rooting for the Pats guys. I know we all hate them, but what's best for Buffalo is the Pats winning and I Always want what's best for Buffalo, no matter what.
  2. It's a very hard offense to defend against when executed properly.
  3. Pats don't look all that great against the run so far.
  4. Just curious. What exactly would you be trying to accomplish by doing this? You'll just be passing off your fellow fans, the way I see it. Will that make you feel better about losing him? It's not like Bills decision makers read this board.
  5. Holy crap what a freaking pass by Brady. The first 5 minutes of this game confirm that nobody in the AFC east stands a chance this year and winning the division (not that we all didn't know that already). I hate the Pats, but damn do I respect what they are able to do on the field year in and year out. It's hard not to be just a little jealous of that franchise.
  6. What did you expect? He only comes here to complain.
  7. Chiefs look like crap so far. Either that or the Pats are just That good...
  8. That was a good read. Thanks for sharing. I particularly liked this quote - “We’re new, and we’re adding to the roster, and taking away from the roster,” McDermott said. “It’s a little more of a constant, constant, constant focus on the standard. Because if you don’t, that culture’s gonna grow up around you in the form of weeds. If you don’t manage the culture, develop the culture on a daily basis, it’s going to grow around you whether you like it or not"
  9. I agree. Whaley was good at scouting pro personnel, and decent (to good at times) at scouting college players. But he was poor at most other aspects of running and assembling a team. I can't remember where I read it but I also remember reading after he left that there were players on the team that questioned how truly dedicated he was. They said he would sit and play on his phone during important meetings and stuff like that. And Rex, for all his talk of "all in" was the last guy in the building in the morning and the first one to leave. I think he liked the idea of being able to say he was a head coach and all the publicity that came with it but I don't think he actually liked putting in all the meticulous work that it entailed. I think these quotes also go to show that Rex and Whaley were never working anywhere near in lockstep together like this new GM and coach are. McDermott and Beane seem to discuss every little detail. For Rex to obviously not even have been part of the discussion as to what type of tag to apply to Hogan, that tells me that they likely didn't even sit and discuss it together. Whaley just made a decision on his own is the way it appears to me. Whether that was because Rex didn't care to be involved or Whaley didn't care to involve him (or both) I don't know.
  10. Here is more from Rex on Hogan, Gillislee and Gilmore - https://www.patspulpit.com/2017/9/6/16263410/rex-ryan-bills-jets-patriots-julian-edelman-chris-hogan-mike-gillislee-stephon-gilmore-belichick RR: “Let’s just say I wasn’t real happy. You know at first, here’s what happened, this is how uninformed I was at that time. I’m thinking, okay, well we get a second round pick. So I was disappointed, but I’m like, anyway we’ll get a second round pick so that’s pretty cool. No, the tender wasn’t high enough. So that’s when I left the office, was not happy. Let’s just put it that way. Then the fact that you gotta go against the guy. That was, but that’ sit. That’s what he does. He’ll make a team worse and make his own team better.
  11. Show them the way to be a professional athlete. You need some good veteran players in the dressing room that the younger guys will actually listen to and follow their example. The NFL is a whole different world/animal compared to college. It's a league filled with the best football players in the entire world. Sometimes winning or losing a game comes down to a handful of plays or having just a slight edge over your competition. And sometimes the difference between a guy having a good good or great career comes down to the way they practice and prepare. There are so many things that good veteran players can show the younger guys. Like showing them the right way to practice on a daily basis, how to properly prepare for a game, how to handle the media, how to handle the pressure during games and in crucial moments, what they're seeing on the field during games, how to carry themselves on and off the field, the right way to work out (setting the right example in the gym etc), how to study film properly (think about what a good veteran player could add to a meeting room when reviewing film, all the things they see that a rookie doesn't). That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are tons more things a good veteran player can teach a younger guy. I'm sure they know all sorts of tips and tricks of the trade. IMO, you need that veteran leadership and guidance on the field and in the locker room. You need guys like that to bring the younger guys along right (especially the rookies and guys in their first few years). I would think it has to be a lot harder for younger guys to find their way in the NFL with a locker room void of good veteran players.
  12. I'll never forget watching a game on TV and listening to the freaking TV announcers actually calling the next play & commenting about how easy to predict it was... Speaking of which - On NFL's twitter account they post every snap certain rookie players take, and back in week 1 or 2 of preseason I watched one on Leonard Fournette (Jacksonville rookie RB). Almost every single run they called for him was right up the middle. Brought back memories... lol.
  13. Here's the exact quote - Whatever it takes to win the game. Thats how we play the game. We play to win. Whatever it takes to win the game thats what were going to do, McDermott said. If it means hes got to play every snap, thats what well do. If hes feeling good, like with every player, well look him in the eye and say, How do you feel? You feel good? Lets go. No different with LeSean. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2017/09/06/bills-jets-sean-mcdermott-lesean-mccoy-could-play-every-snap/ Here is the press conference video if you like to see it in full context (the question on McCoy starts right around the 10:00 mark) - http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Dennison_Encouraged_Everyone_Was_Out_There/56b59470-9a24-4f68-aa5b-b8e2c399a999
  14. So great to hear Kyle Okposo is better and ready to play this season. He has already become a leader and such a big part of this team.
  15. Do you have any links to these reports. I'm not saying I don't believe you or anything like that. I have just been hearing some around here say this for a while and have never seen any links to confirm it. I have tried looking myself on a few different occasions and haven't been able to find anything. I am just curious to read theses reports is all. All the reports I could find, or remember, were about him supposedly being "in love" with deshaun Watson before the draft. The only thing I could find about him and Mahomes were those reports about him not drafting Mahomes being the last straw that led to his firing (which I think is total BS).
  16. WTF? When did this start? I was just reading articles on there yesterday. Well, I guess I am done reading BN Blitz then...
  17. Only 3 republicans voted for it, and 36 against. Where as 50 democrats voted for it and only 5 against. It is true that if the Democrats would have had all 55 votes (100% support) they could have passed the bill with those 3 republican votes for. But, I'd still lay the blame for not passing it more on the party that only had 7% of its senators vote for it than the one who had 91% of its senators vote for it.
  18. I agree that Norman is overrated and isn't as good when asked to be more of a man cover CB. But he was very good in McD's zone scheme. If J Gaines is the same way, I'm perfectly happy with that. IMO, that's what good coaches do - find players that fit their schemes very well. It would be great if EJ Gaines is able to play at a similar level as Josh Norman in this scheme. Hey, who knows. It could happen. We can hope, right? After all, Norman was a 5th round pick that McD played a big role in developing. Hopefully he can do the same with EJ. He does have a pretty decent track record of developing the secondary, so I am hopeful.
  19. You could very well be right. I honestly don't know. None of us do... But it does fit Whaley's MO. If it was all McD, I think at the very least he was relying on Whaley's input. He was only here a couple months at that time and hadn't coached any of these players yet (or even met them in some cases). I would guess that Whaley was pretty confident that J. Williams could replace Gillislee, or that he could draft another 5th round RB with the pick from MG to replace him. Again, I have no clue though. I am just speculating.
  20. Here's how I see it - -they didn't want to pay their backup RB $4M this year, and devote $12M in cap space to their top 2 RBs. They took the 5th round pick and turned it into Nate Peterman. I'm good with that. Was that truly a McDermott move anyway, putting the original round tender on MG? Whaley did the same thing with Hogan the year before (original round tender) and chose not to match the offer. - McDermott doesn't need a $13M man cover CB in his zone (cover 3) scheme. Plus the Bills only had $19M in cap space at the time with 26 players to sign. Oh, and Whaley had 2 years to sign Gilmore and didn't. It was reported long before McD was hired that Whaley wasn't willing to pay more than $11.5M to Gilmore. - Sammy was injured a lot, that's true. And he said he was looking to change the pay structure of the NFL with his new contract. So they chose to move on and get assets in return. - Darby was coming off a down year, true again, and he was struggling in the zone scheme. It takes more thinking to play zone, where as in man all you do is cover your guy. A lot of times man cover CB's aren't good in zone and vise versa. I think that was the case here. - they did sign Boldin. They were trying to bolster the WR position. They had no control over him choosing to retire. Can't call that a tank move... - keeping Vlad is a bit of a head scratcher. He sucks, it he does know this scheme pretty well. As of now he is just a backup though, and we've had backup OL of his caliber before. Many teams have sucky backup OL men.
  21. They already have 10 guys, but it'd be nice if they did put him on the PS. I'd be happy to hear they did.
  22. Love Lesean McCoy. Hope he is here at least through his current contract.
  23. As I said all along, I would not freak out until Ducasse was starting week 1, and it looks like I won't have to freak out after all... lol.
  24. Looks like Miller might be the starting RG after all... Bills to keep Miller, Mills as starters on right side of line http://buffalonews.com/2017/09/04/bills-keep-miller-mills-starters-right-side-o-line/ 'John Miller and Jordan Mills each withstood challenges this summer to remain the Buffalo Bills' starters at right guard and right tackle, respectively. Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that both would be in the starting lineup for Sunday's regular-season opener against the New York Jets.'
  25. Are you talking about the 3 waiver wire pickups and the trade for Clay? If so, all of them are likely bottom of the roster players that may not be active for the first game and even if they are will likely play very limited snaps anyway.
