Silly maybe... But has been a decision maker for a team during the worst stretch of futility in our history. He is a marketer and has probably succeeded at that, but in the world of football ops he has been terrible by every metric. We keep being told he has no influence until it is proven he did, and he keeps getting promoted. Has been a (very bad) GM, has made (very bad) personnel decisions as well as having major influence on all GM and HC hires for more than a decade. I would argue it's silly to go to bat for someone who has been terrible for that many years. Curse or not, the fact that he still works here, especially in a high position, is absolutely rediculous. Psychologists? Lol Displacement maybe if he had no fault. He is directly responsible for many problems, and involved in many others.

I'm with dunkrk... We should draft one. RBs are better when young anyways, and I don't know how long Dennison will be around, at least not enough to get a guy because he knows him.

I generally agree with the OP on moet points. Like I posted in other threads, if we are going to let Mcd and Beane go this far and gut the roster, now we have to let them implement they're vision. Otherwise we just let them tear down, let's see if they can rebuild.

I have been calling for Russ to be fired since I was a teenager... And I'm 31 now. I am convinced that Russ is the curse. Keeping/promoting him was a bigtime mistake every time it has happened. Any drought people should be burned at the stake. That said, absolutely no the Pegs should not sell. They should give McD and Beane 4 or more years and see how it goes. We have never been successful, and now that all the talent is gone, we are at the "low point" in they're tenure. G9tta let them follow through if we let them go this far. Obviosly they didn't want to spend a high pick, and there are plaenty of later round qb's playing productive (or downright elite), so I just don't see merit in your premise. If NP lit it up last week you wouod not question it. It's the same reason every team drafts a qb, they don't believe TT is the answer and are trying to win on a scratch off.

I wasn't particularly broken hearted when Marrone left, he has the best season record of any coach we have had in awhile. You really can't argue with results, besides yes of course Schwartz had the D showing out.

Schwartz would have been great, but Marrone reportedly would have stayed if they gave him a guarantee. If that's true, then not paying Marrone and giving him assurances was their biggest mistake in my opinion.

I agree with everyth8ng in the OP, except I think the Dareus trade may end up like the Peters trade where he's elite for a decade and we got a 6th that will be cut before next season. I also realize he did not want to be here and we had no choice, but it still sucks.
