  1. Fake news. Bills have made no statement, contrary to the thread title. Just another clickbait headline.
  2. You make some great points. I was a big NASCAR fan for quite awhile, but now I only watch on night races, Bills byes, or when it's the only sport in season. My favorite drivers switched to Ford and now I just can't root for anyone. I feel like I'm cheating on the drivers rooting for someone else, and I simply cannot root for someone in a blue oval. The Winston cup, Sprint cup, Monster cup, Nationwide series, xfinity, etc... It's rediculous with no continuity. Rule changes like crazy, and as you pointed out FS2 is no mainstream channel. I do reject Jauronimo's assessment of being percieved "asinine" or "not a sport", but understand why people who don't know think that. The real intersting things and strategy in racing do not translate well to the viewer. They are about science, drafting, aerodynamics, tire/gas/pit strategy, psi, tracker bars, etc. And none of those things are particularly demonstrable, so it takes a racing educated fan to see the intracacies. This does not help NASCAR at all. Add to that there are too many ovals, they need some more road courses. NFL is hosting a clinic on how to run a massive national pastime into the ground. Teams moving, pathetic referees, rule changes, etc are killing them. There is good news for the NFL though, and it lies in precedent from the MLB. MLB managed to be the biggest fall of an American pastime, and has fallen in popularity more than any other major sport ever has. The good news is that the 17% drop in popularity of MLB over the years is still more viewers than NHL, NBA, and NASCAR have combined. The NFL will.continue to fall for awhile, but when it hits a plateau, it will still be a high one. The NFL isn't going anywhere, but the NFL as we know it is already gone.
  3. It's not even Thanksgiving yet! How many !@#$ing times can a person hear jingle bells, deck the halls, etc before going crazy? I think the walmart in my town will find out.
  4. I think it's pretty simple: if we win the next 2, we can get in. We need to have 7 wins going into the final 5. Would be nice to sweep MIA and NE but I just don't see it. We can split with them though, and I think we need 10 wins or 9 wins and beat LAC.
  5. Yeah I didn't mean all the picks, but I would imagine it takes a 1st-2nd-3rd, or 2 1st's. Maybe Tyrod and a 1st and 3rd. Given his lack of availability though, I don't see Beane rolling the dice on that one. Stakes are too high, but I guess it depends on how McD and Beane see Tyrod.
  6. They can have them all. Franchise QBs almost never change teams (when young), and it would be a bigtime trade package. Would probably include Tyrod actually. That said, I would be shocked to the core if he was a Bill. I think there's a better chance that he changes his name to "Bill".
  7. Call me crazy, but I think we break that on Sunday. Just a feeling. After a putrid outing last thursday, and 10 days of festering anger, the Bills should rebound bigtime. If they are for real, at least. They are a much different team at home, and I think they will make a concerted effort to get KB to make an impact, for morale purposes if nothing else. If our past games vs Brees are any indication, the key is getting in Brees' throwing lanes. Force him to throw without seeing the whole field, or go for batted balls and tips. If we manage to bat and tip balls, our opportunistic ball hawking secondary could capitalize. To me, it's really our only legitimate hope defensively.
  8. As much as Tyrod frustrates me sometimes, I will admit I often think we should take the "Alex Smith" approach with him and let him start for years hoping he puts it all together at some point. And sometimes the anemic 3 and outs make me want to smash something. I guess I'm a bit bipolar about Tyrod.
  9. Hmmm.. A hamburger sounds good too. Yup, definitely hungry. Not sure if I would be able to draw any better though...
  10. Haha... With the Bills logo on their shirt, those drawing more closely represented blue and red sheep or meatloaf... Or maybe I'm just hungry.
  11. Hey, That's the kind of post that'll make you friends around here. ☑️ Hates Ryan brothers ☑️ Hates Hogan ☑️ Hates Pats ☑️ Diehard of a (mostly) perrenial loser I think you may have been a Bills fan in a past life. I hope you wallow in sorrow this Sunday right around 4pm though.
  12. I don't agree at all with the spirit of this post. Firzt off, fans are not bound to anything, and can change their mind (crazy I know). Just because you think they will be bad does not mean you don't get teased and excited by a great start. We desperately want to be good, and have been shown a flash of possible playoff chances. Then we have the obligatory Bills implosion in primetime against a team on a 3 game slide, in the divison, in an extremely disgusting and ugly way. We had our hopes jettisoned to the top, thinking this could be our year, and then the typical "same old Bills" brought us right back to earth and is all too reminiscient of all those 17 drought years. We have seen this movie before, and the ending is not good for us. Could it still be our year? Of course it could, but history is an excellent predictor of the future and history is not on our side. It feels like groundhogs day, and many fans just want to jump into a tub with a toaster (metaphorically). I hope you are right, and we bounce back, but you simply cannot fault Bills fans for feeling the vice. People saying 4-12 were mostly just tempering expectations so they would not be disappointed. Wins make that fade fast, but big losses feel like a cat o' nine tails.
  13. Clearly capable of what? Not trolling, that is a serious question. Sneaking into the playoffs, or being a honest to goodness consistent real QB? I know the team has other issues, but Carolina and Jets are 2 of the worst games we have had in a long time. Offense looked mighty "drought-y" in both outings.
  14. !@#$ insight, the W from TNF counts just as much as any other. So does the L
  15. Relax, why would I relax? We have been here many times in the last 17 years. History points to bad things. This was supposed to be the end of being ”Billsy", or the "same old Bills". But here we are, still inconsistent, still can't get over the 5 win hump, still suck in primetime, and still dropping 2 of the worst games in years in CAR and NY.
  16. I agree with Ritchie, but Jets had short week too. Excuses. Just our midseason reality check, right on cue.
  17. Is a 5 win start all we are ever going to get to celebrate? Can't ever seem to get that 6th without a few more L’s in between.
  18. Right? Great piece. Still not necessarily sold Rodaks not just trying to get in the ground floor so he can say he knew all along.
  19. Yeah I think everybody would take Benjamin over Woods. Obviously it's a tough comparison though, because Woods hit FA. In this rookie wage scale world, every players gets something like a 2x multiplier on what they are actually worth in FA
  20. Well, we are making progress on Kaep threads. Only 5 pages in 2 days. In June this was a 45 page thread. Gotta celebrate the little victories. Just think, soon we won't even have Kaep threads, and we won't have to argue about this issue where literally nobody is willing to give ground.
  21. Quoted for truth Though I don't care at all about how the fanbase "looks". The ones who matter don't care, and the ones who care don't matter. Plus, we aren't the Browns, so we have that going for us...
  22. It's the flavor of the week. It's 2017, everyone's a victim, don't cha know?
  23. Didn't hear the Beane interview, but yes he and bull were dicks about the whole thing. Talked crap about Bills fans in general, shredded some folks for seemingly innocent optimism, and engaged in wholesale douchebaggery. It was the first time I ever listened to them, but I have the app from listening to Sabres unaired preseason games and wanted to hear about the Benjamin trade at work... it will also be the last time I listen to them. Pathetic way to run a show, especially in a situation like this.
