I don't know how much James White may have lost a step, but he strikes me as a clear #2 running in the AFCE to Josh Allen. I think Gaskin could do really well - liked him coming out in the draft. But the answer, if he can stay on the field/healthy, is:

53 Man Roster: Way Too Early

I wish I had a better grasp on where our core special teamers stand with McBeane. It would make some of those final roster decision projections a little easier/clearer. Definitely agree that we'll continue to add pieces. I would be surprised if we did not sign at least a TE3, someone to compete at DT (1T), and a veteran like Davis/Norman (but really hopefully not at all like Davis) at CB. -

I like it overall, but would be surprised if Stevenson doesn't make it. -
So, what's the plan at RB?
JohnBonhamRocks replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on whether each factor is weighed the same. -
Also voted Oliver. In addition to your reasoning of benefiting from the new edge rushers, I think he benefits in that department from Lotulelei coming back. Further, I think we could very well have 6 DEs splitting time fairly evenly, which would mean he just has more time on the field. I see Claptain America rotating the DTs less than the DEs.

I never really considered that, but Beane showed with Zay Jones he is willing to cut ties with a 2nd round pick. Do you think Ford would fetch better than a 5th round pick? Thing is, I think this would require 2 of Feliciano/Boettger/Lamp/Anderson to show they are clearly the best options as starters above him. Even then, Beane might value keeping Ford as a cheap 3rd G. -

Thanks - added Doyle and dropped Adams. Unfortunately Johnson I see on PS (if eligible) or traded/cut. -

Or that UDFA from Bowling Green. But more likely what you said. Oh dang haha that was just an oversight. Tough to release anyone, but gonna edit accordingly - thank you! -

My guess if somehow Beane makes no more moves: Allen, Trubisky Singletary, Moss, Breida Gilliam Knox, Hollister, Sweeney Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, Hodgins, Stevens Dawkins, Ford, Morse, Feliciano, Williams, Brown, Doyle, Boettger, Anderson, Lamp Hughes, Addison, Epenesa, Obada, Rousseau, Basham Oliver, Lotulelei, Butler, Phillips Edmunds, Milano, Klein, Matakevich White, Wallace, T. Johnson, Jackson, Neal, Wildgoose Hyde, Poyer, J. Johnson, Hamlin Bass Haack Ferguson Edit: Forgot Doyle (d’oh!) - swapped him in for LB Adams -
Is Jerry Hughes a future Wall of Famer?
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was too young to remember watching Hansen play, but can definitely recall Schobel being very solid consistently. It’s a shame he never got much more than Kelsay/Denny (sp?) across from him - just missed Jerry & Mario by a few years. IMO next defensive lineman on the Wall is probably Kyle Williams. The blue collar style, longevity, leadership, and fact that he symbolizes the transition to this post-Drought era, all make it a lock. -

I don't think he will unless he finishes extremely strong his last however many years here. He has been rock solid, but not exceptional. I feel he and Schobel would have similar shots at making it and I don't see either getting there even though I really like both players. Hope I'm wrong honestly. Then again Hansen is in and purely statwise (which I do not think is the end-all-be-all) I don't see him all that much higher above either. -
1. Chiefs 2. Browns 3. Bills
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I gave you a thumbs up. Not because I agree with your conclusion (I think it is still Chiefs, Bills, Browns until Mayfield shows he can play at the Mahomes/Allen level), but because it was well reasoned, and I do think you can make a strong case that, while all three teams retained their own well, KC and CLE did more to improve their rosters. Just not enough to close the overall team talent gap given the QB play and importance of that position. -

Whoever remaining has the highest RAS at the most expensive positions - welcome to Buffalo! -
That argument is flawed because McDermott’s scheme does not require a top end CB2 and other than White the DBs on our team that figure to be major contributors this year were all taken 4th round or later. We don’t know on Jackson (similarly to how we don’t know on any draft pick), but McBeane seem high on him.
-
Yeah I have not suggested and would not suggest involving anything higher than a 4th next year. That’s just if they really like a guy and see the need to move up. If we do want to move up, then I’d ideally like to involve only picks from this year.
