If the Rams bring blitz like I think they will and keep Pats' RBs in to block they can limit the damage. Stopping Michel and forcing Patriots into passing is going to be key in that; can they slow down run game enough to allow themselves to bring pressure against Brady when he's passing.

They match up terrifically imo. They're going to play a ton of man on the outside with Talib and Peters (which is the right call against a pretty weak NE wideout group) and send pressure on blitz with Suh and Donald playing a little wider to create lanes. Fowler and Barron are the perfect combo of LBs to both bring pressure against run/pass and match up w/ Gronkowski in coverage on 3rd downs. Rams on offense just need to let Gurley do his thing and have Goff limit mistakes. Maybe hit a big play or two, convert some third-and-longs but overall they should be seeing enough of the ball due to their defense that they'll score enough to win.

Yep. This imo has been a miracle run for the Pats primarily because they managed to avoid the team they would have been beaten by (Baltimore) and instead drew two uber-talented but flawed playoff contenders in San Diego and KC- Anthony Lynn and his staff got schooled, and then Belichick turned around and punched a hole through Reid/Sutton who apparently didn't learn anything from watching the previous game. Newflash to Rams- this Patriots team is NOT THAT TALENTED. They are superbly well coached and well managed on both sides of the ball, but they don't stack up man for man against any of these teams they keep beating because their execution and gameplan (on offense- establish the run. WHAT. A. CONCEPT) keep trumping inexperienced talent. The most frustrating thing in the world is watching the Pats get going on the ground early because DCs are so concerned about a 41-year old QB and a tight end held together with elbow braces and HGH.

I’m not saying people don’t believe momentum in sports exists. Clearly they do. I’m saying it’s not a real phenomenon.
