Blue tops, white pants across the pond against the Jags
SinceThe70s replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup - I was surprised to see the Chefs in their home reds on the road against the Jets. I've come to realize that I don't like any uni combo for the Bills that doesn't include white pants. -
I would've gone with the '85 team too. That team wasn't all that different from the '86 team. Gooden was much more dominant in '85, but the '85 team didn't have Ojeda or Kevin Mitchell - on the other hand the '85 team did have Calvin Schiraldi. And @ExWNYer - if you want to lament a guy that got away, how about Kevin Mitchell? Supposedly they dumped him because he was a bad influence on Doc and Darryl.

Future complications In the strings between the cans But no prints can come from fingers If machines become our hands And then our feet become the wheels And then the wheels become the cars And then the rigs begin to drill Until the drilling goes too far Things can go bad And make you wanna run away But as we grow older Horizon begins to fade, fade, fade, fade away

And what would you do if I sang you this song? The connection is bad but that's only the phone 'Cause when my words kiss your ear I'll be right there The message is long 'cause baby this is your song I'll bet that You don't know anybody that could be so bad But if you did you'd be wonderin' where I'm at Well I'll be home when tomorrow mornin'...

Long Island Bills Backers - Where to watch London game?
SinceThe70s replied to bills_fan's topic in Off the Wall
Sorry, can't help you woth Sunday - but Is Instant Replay a Bills Bar? It's been a few years since I've been there but I grew up nearby and spent many late nights there - they sponsored our softball team for years. -
Agreed. But I also wonder if Vientos factors in similarly. I think Vientos showed as much at the plate as Baty but with less of a chance.

Is Belichick Tanking Already?
SinceThe70s replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't buy it. They were competitive against the Eagles and Dolphins and beat the Jets with Mac. One blow out doesn't make me think they're tanking. -
I also wonder about where Mauricio slots in. TBH I haven't watched much over the past month but from what I saw he looks like a legit MLB hitter - which makes me think he has a questionable glove? Pure speculation on my part with nothing to back it up other than questioning why he wasn't brought up sooner. Baty looks like a guy that's gonna have to be a big plus at the plate cuz to me he looks uninspiring in the field. I was just telling wifey that it's amazing how much a Bills win changes my mental state - especially one like today's.

Disagree that Buck was the number one culprit. The season was in jeopardy as soon as Diaz went down and things started spiraling when Max sucked, Quintana got hurt, Verlander missed his first few starts and Pedersen and Megill were abysmal. With that said I'm fine moving on from Buck - while I don't think he was the problem he also didn't appear to be part of the solution. One positive that came out of the season was Lucchesi - raise your hand if you saw that coming!

Hey 73 - I haven't noticed posts from you for 80's bands (metal/hair) before this. Wicked Sensation would have been right up my alley back in the day. Nice post.

Does humor belong in music? I think it does. Two (imo) fine examples from the same album.

#metoo wrt Big Sexy. I really wanted to go to the game and was planning to until I found out the Bills would be on local TV (I live a weird Bills fan existence where I only see locally broadcast games so when they are on locally it's a priority). WRT Pete Rose -\he was a despised player for me as well. My Rose memories are the Harrelson brawl, Rose taking out Fosse in the All Star game (slightly before my time but an iconic d-bag moment all the same) and being at the game where Rose tied Tommy Holmes NL hit streak record at Shea. The funny part about the last moment was we were on the first base side and I remember watching Pat Zachry fall into the dugout cuz he was p!ssed that he gave up the hit, he tried to kick something and ended up on the DL with a broken foot or something.

Stop your messing around; Better think of your future, Time to straighten right out, Creating problems in town. Rudy, A message to you, Rudy. A message to you.

Didn't see him play very much - but replays of some of his highlights are indelible. Only player I can remember with the short brim on his batting helmet. RIP

Joe Namath wants Jets to clean house & start over

It makes zero sense to me that the Jets haven't brought in a vet to backup (cough cough - take over for) Zach after Rodgers went down. Was texting with a close friend (Jets fan) about it last night wondering if it was on the coach or the GM. He put it on the owner and there is actually a dot or two that might connect. Zach's uncle (David Neeleman) is the founder of JetBlue and appears to have a business relationship with Woody Johnson (https://www.si.com/nfl/jets/news/predicting-new-york-jets-quarterback-room-2023-zach-wilson-aaron-rodgers) This is the type of speculation I'd usually dismiss out of hand, but I have to admit that given the current state of Jets affairs it could explain the unexplainable. Plus, I heard Saleh's post game endorsement of Zach today and it was pretty obvious he's just toeing the company line. And I can't imagine a GM not bringing in someone - anyone - to back up (cough cough - take over for) Zach. -
Jets fan can barely keep his teeth in his mouth screaming at Wilson. Good times. https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3485938/the-jets-and-zach-wilson-are-so-bad-their-fans-are-losing-teeth-over-it
