  1. Powder straps are a must.
  2. Damn, how'd you get back? Had a friend who dropped a pole in the back bowls and we spent awhile looking for it in the powder. He finally decided to give up, let out a curse and slammed his other pole down. Clink! Right on the 'lost' pole. Good times.
  3. Sammy Watkins
  4. The Vail back bowls are a nightmare or back bowls in general?
  5. When I do go, I'm on old equipment (and wearing old clothing). Atomic Beta Ride circa 2000. Still love them. Before that it was Salomon Force 9, I still can't believe how long and skinny those were, definitely not made for the powder as I found out. Vail was my favorite out west. Great combination of resort town, night life and the back bowls. Plus it isn't too far from Denver. But the best skiing I ever experienced was at Alta. Had a few epic powder days there.
  6. I would have been highly active in this thread 5-10 years ago. Sadly I haven't skiied much the past few years. I was never more than an upper immediate skiier and didn't start until my mid-20's. Our go-to mountain was Mt. Snow in Vermont - best combination of mountain size and distance from home for us. I've been to a number of resorts out west and there was something to like about each of them. Never made it to Taos, but that was definitely on the to-do list. Wasn't that one of the hold-outs that didn't allow snowboarders?
  7. Well, the girls are frisky in old Frisco A pretty little chick wherever you go
  8. Just saw this from the game last night. Pham gave up a chance at history so a teammate could get a WS at bat after going 4-4. I'm guessing that nobody realized that 5-5 would have been a WS first. I'd also like to know why it was imperative to give Peterson an AB in game 2, I assume he won't suit up for many games. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/38776351/tommy-pham-asked-sit-jace-peterson-appear-ws
  9. That made it even worse. But tbh the Jets with Zach should be the least of our worries.
  10. I had the great misfortune of watching most of Jets/Giants. 15 punts in the first half. I've watched better high school games.
  11. In the hypothetical, how I feel about 1-3 would depend on how we got there. A dominating win on the road in Philly would feel a whole lot different than only beating the Broncos .
  12. If we can't get one "good" win I'm not sure I can stick with "just make the playoffs and anything can happen" - which is pretty much where I'm at right now.
  13. In 1999 I borrowed a friends jersey, paired it with a set of crutches and went as Vinny Testaverde. Good times.
  14. Some songs in there that I love, some I hate, some I don't get... But one I had never heard may have inspired or been inspired by
  15. LMFAO - didn't realize Miguel Castro was a D'back until he lost the game on the first batter he faced. Unlike Shamu I never had anything against Castro - saw enough out of him to give me hope.
  16. @ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan I have to admit that seeing Shamu Sea World Sewald blow the save put a grinchy grin on my face. On a more interesting note, did anyone see the quotes from Pham about 'the drive not being there with the Mets'. Comments didn't come off as vindictive, just matter of fact. I'm curious who he was referring to. https://nypost.com/2023/10/26/sports/mets-didnt-have-dangerous-drive-like-diamondbacks-tommy-pham/
  17. I'm an Islanders fan. Went to the game last night and they won. I'm happy about that. I doubt that many others on this board GAF, much less care to discuss. Decided to post here instead of starting a new thread. Have a nice day.
  18. I live to function On my own is all I know No friends to mention No distraction, nowhere to go Shallow, shallow Give it to me, give it to me Scissors cutting out your anger
  19. They held their heads with laughs of pain They learned from men who'd just refrain From glancing at a mirror's face Seven screaming diz-busters Who lurked behind the rose Cast iron for a bloodstream And ice behind their eyes
  20. Just as I'm thinkin' about repairin' it Some little friends come along with some Two-string, one-string, no-string guitars And they plug 'em all in to the back porch And they sit around, playin' all their favorite songs They kick it back, feelin' real good, real fine Real full of the wine And everything's fine, everything's beautiful, everything's great I just feel so good y'know, I'm 70 years old And I'm sippin' everything through a straw
  21. Bad Religion tonight. Home before 11 PM? That's gotta be a first. Good show, right up my alley- punk/pop and heavier than expected. I knew nothing of the band going in and wasn't expecting: - the singer looking like a dentist -left guitar looking like he'd fit right in next to a wooden barrel on Hee-Haw - right guitar looking like Kelly Leak - bass player looking exactly like a gangly Steve Martin (couldn't get over that one all night)
  22. Dead leaves always give up motion I no longer feel the motion Where prophecy fails, the fallin' motion Don't report this, agents of fortune
  23. Wasn't questioning the story, true or not it's irrelevant to the idea that the coach who preaches accountability (don't they all?) would/should fire themself when things go south.
  24. First I ever heard of that. If true, sounds more like someone trying to get themself fired (plenty of examples of that) vs. someone firing themself.
  25. I'm just wondering if there's a precedent for someone under contract (in any profession) firing themself. There's gotta be one, I just can't come up with it.
