LMFAO - didn't realize Miguel Castro was a D'back until he lost the game on the first batter he faced. Unlike Shamu I never had anything against Castro - saw enough out of him to give me hope.

@ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan I have to admit that seeing Shamu Sea World Sewald blow the save put a grinchy grin on my face. On a more interesting note, did anyone see the quotes from Pham about 'the drive not being there with the Mets'. Comments didn't come off as vindictive, just matter of fact. I'm curious who he was referring to. https://nypost.com/2023/10/26/sports/mets-didnt-have-dangerous-drive-like-diamondbacks-tommy-pham/

I'm an Islanders fan. Went to the game last night and they won. I'm happy about that. I doubt that many others on this board GAF, much less care to discuss. Decided to post here instead of starting a new thread. Have a nice day.

I live to function On my own is all I know No friends to mention No distraction, nowhere to go Shallow, shallow Give it to me, give it to me Scissors cutting out your anger

They held their heads with laughs of pain They learned from men who'd just refrain From glancing at a mirror's face Seven screaming diz-busters Who lurked behind the rose Cast iron for a bloodstream And ice behind their eyes

Just as I'm thinkin' about repairin' it Some little friends come along with some Two-string, one-string, no-string guitars And they plug 'em all in to the back porch And they sit around, playin' all their favorite songs They kick it back, feelin' real good, real fine Real full of the wine And everything's fine, everything's beautiful, everything's great I just feel so good y'know, I'm 70 years old And I'm sippin' everything through a straw

Bad Religion tonight. Home before 11 PM? That's gotta be a first. Good show, right up my alley- punk/pop and heavier than expected. I knew nothing of the band going in and wasn't expecting: - the singer looking like a dentist -left guitar looking like he'd fit right in next to a wooden barrel on Hee-Haw - right guitar looking like Kelly Leak - bass player looking exactly like a gangly Steve Martin (couldn't get over that one all night)

RELAX! This may be a good thing for the Bills.
SinceThe70s replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wasn't questioning the story, true or not it's irrelevant to the idea that the coach who preaches accountability (don't they all?) would/should fire themself when things go south. -

First I ever heard of that. If true, sounds more like someone trying to get themself fired (plenty of examples of that) vs. someone firing themself. -

I'm just wondering if there's a precedent for someone under contract (in any profession) firing themself. There's gotta be one, I just can't come up with it. -
I agree, if he said something like that I'd feel much better too. Personally I can't get enough coach speak.

Is there a precedent for a 4-3 team with a high end QB being a seller?

I don't understood this line of reasoning. I get that you want him gone - and I'm not here to defend him - but do you expect him to fire himself? -
The weekend at the college didn't turn out like you planned

Sharing an uplifting postscript. The kids holding the S T R O N G placards are all still recovering from injuries.

Ima try a different tactic and put down 10 that I love and if the thread takes off I'll reserve the right to amend. In no particular order: Quadrophenia Yessongs The Wall Waiting For Columbus Physical Graffiti UFO: Strangers In The Night Joes Garage Acts 2 and 3 Michael Schenker Group: Live At Budokan Rush: All The Worlds A Stage Lynyrd Skynrd: One More For The Road Blue Oyster Cult: On Your Feet Or On Your Knees Frampton Comes Alive -

Fair enough - wasn't my intention to throw cold water on a fun thread - just the first thing that came to my mind when I tried to rank. I'd probably put Yessongs amongst my faves - but that's a triple album so maybe I don't play nicely in the sandbox. -

I'd have to distinguish a recorded double album from a live one. For example, unfair to compare The Wall to Waiting For Columbus, imo. EDIT: with that said Quadrophenia would make my top 10 either way -
Bad Religion next week. TBH I can't name one song of theirs but I think I had an album back in the day. A friend I don't see often enough asked if I was interested - why not, it'll be a good night out.

I'm at the point where unless it's the D'Backs I'll be unhappy with whoever wins the WS. My pecking order is: 1) D'backs 2) Rangers (but I want to see Max get lit up every time he takes the mound) 3) Astros 4) !@#$ the Phillies
-
Oh I'm so glad I found you I want my arms around you I love to hear you call my name

@ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan Turned on the game tonight in the hopes of seeing Max get lit up. Top 3rd and he's given up 4 runs so far. Good times.
