@ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan Are you fellas paying any attention to the post season? By and large I'm not, but I tuned in a little today. Braves/Phillies is a death or boola-boola scenario for me. If you don't know the joke, death sounds better than boola-boola until you find out that it's death by boola-boola. There's an outside chance we'll get a Scherzer/Verlander matchup next series. I'll refer back to death or boola-boola. With nothing left to cheer for I turned on D'Bags/Dodgers. I'm rooting for the D'Bags. In the 3rd inning the Bags go yard 3 times. Another D'bag hits one but it gets over-turned on replay (foul) - and on the next pitch he hits it out! #LFGBags!!!

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
SinceThe70s replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's amazing to me how much time and energy today's society - myself included - devotes to parsing everything someone says and pontificating on what it meant, why they said it, what they should have said, how it affected the person they said it to or about, yadda yadda yadda.... What a colossal waste of time! And yet, here I am. -
What was the first R Rated movie you saw?
SinceThe70s replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
My first attempt was Blazing Saddles. Me and a friend made it into the theater and the movie started when we got a tap on the shoulder and were informed we'd have to depart the premises. Not too long after that a cop informed us we'd have to depart from where we were about to light one up. Don't remember where we went next except it wasn't home. Good times. Pretty sure the first R rated movie I actually saw was Animal House. -

Wasps (thanks for correction) are out of control this year
SinceThe70s replied to WotAGuy's topic in Off the Wall
I went through a few cans of spray too. Then I tried covering it - which really p!ssed them off, but they were persistent and made their way back in. I also hung up a bee trap which caught a lot of them, but the nest was still active until the critter dug up the nest. -

I had one this summer by the foundation of the house that I battled unsuccessfully with for weeks - until one night a critter (raccoon?) took care of it for me. -

So we shouldn't expect him to play until he says he can't go? Solid.

You might be on to something with this cult stuff. I have to admit that when they mentioned the 'golden pickle' I checked to see if the doors to the court were locked from the outside.

Funny timing for this thread. I played for the first time yesterday - my company rented a place with an instructor for a few hours. It was a lot of fun except that most of the people who went were not very athletic. Crazy thing to me is how expensive the paddles can get. Instructor said his was $250.

@ExWNYer @Another Fan @Gugny So Eppler walks away unexpectedly today. It seemed fishy when I first heard it and now it's come out that Mets are under investigation by MLB for improper use of the injured list. The other tidbit that came out was a rift between Buck and Eppler over the use of Vogelbach - with Buck questioning why he was still on the team after the trade deadline. This makes me happy that Eppler is gone - it also might partially explain why Vientos didn't get more playing time. BTW, completely agree with comments about Boras. And while I can't stand the long term deals either, Pete is the type of player that I'd give one to. If we let him go I'm gonna start hating on Stearns.

2023 Yankees thread.........Domingo German pitches perfect game
SinceThe70s replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in Off the Wall
<rant> Cuz I'm a Mets fan and live amongst Yanks fans and the NYC media. Sucks to be second fiddle. For the record some of my best friends are Yankee fans - so my 'hatred' is all in good fun. With that said (and as a Bills fan), the comparison between Yankee fans and Patriots/Brady fans is fascinating to me. They both exhibit similar behavior - as if their teams failure/success is a reflection of themself. I'm looking forward to the day that I'm that guy based on the Bills (or Mets) success. </rant> -

JMO - but it feels like Yankee fans only post here when there's something good to post. When things go bad this thread goes silent. Not much critical thinking as far as I can tell. -
2023 Yankees thread.........Domingo German pitches perfect game
SinceThe70s replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in Off the Wall
Why do I think you're triggered? "Because of pinstripes or ?????" comes off as triggered to me ( just one example) For the record I probably hate the Yankees more than you and I do appreciate your insights. But your incessant Yankee hatred hyberbola is off-putting. -

Why does talk of the Yankees trigger you so much? -

Blue tops, white pants across the pond against the Jags
SinceThe70s replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup - I was surprised to see the Chefs in their home reds on the road against the Jets. I've come to realize that I don't like any uni combo for the Bills that doesn't include white pants. -
I would've gone with the '85 team too. That team wasn't all that different from the '86 team. Gooden was much more dominant in '85, but the '85 team didn't have Ojeda or Kevin Mitchell - on the other hand the '85 team did have Calvin Schiraldi. And @ExWNYer - if you want to lament a guy that got away, how about Kevin Mitchell? Supposedly they dumped him because he was a bad influence on Doc and Darryl.

Future complications In the strings between the cans But no prints can come from fingers If machines become our hands And then our feet become the wheels And then the wheels become the cars And then the rigs begin to drill Until the drilling goes too far Things can go bad And make you wanna run away But as we grow older Horizon begins to fade, fade, fade, fade away

And what would you do if I sang you this song? The connection is bad but that's only the phone 'Cause when my words kiss your ear I'll be right there The message is long 'cause baby this is your song I'll bet that You don't know anybody that could be so bad But if you did you'd be wonderin' where I'm at Well I'll be home when tomorrow mornin'...

Long Island Bills Backers - Where to watch London game?
SinceThe70s replied to bills_fan's topic in Off the Wall
Sorry, can't help you woth Sunday - but Is Instant Replay a Bills Bar? It's been a few years since I've been there but I grew up nearby and spent many late nights there - they sponsored our softball team for years.
