  1. Norman at 32 provided the energy our D needed after Levi went down. Good game from the DL, Frazier & Daboll. Our OL was solid. DL rebounded in 2nd half. Good game pleased with the focus and effort. Another 3rd Qtr without a score although I thought Brown had it.
  2. Right knee down bottom hand had total control on white line = TD.
  3. I was wrong but my thoughts were Allen was unable to develop accuracy. He will always have some dog in him that could lead to injury but he’s tough as nails. You can’t measure competitiveness and desire. It’s seems like yesterday he was coming off the bench to relieve Peterman.
  4. Need to see what we can do in bad elements to make this call.
  5. Allen is more talented than Darnold, Rosen & Mayfielf. Allen has a stronger arm than Jackson. Allen is not as gifted a runner as Jackson, but he does have more finishing power to grind out tough yards when you know a QB sneak is likely coming.
  6. Lamar Jackson is going to light up the Washington Football Team. Expect 5-6 TDs.
  7. Levi should be ready to make more picks. Take one back for 6.
  8. For too many teams and analysts it’s more about what can he do Year 1 than it is about what can he do by Year 3 and beyond if given time to develop and learn the mental side of the game. Allen by all measures had the raw talent, and character to succeed. The question was how would he develop mentally in processing, learning and refining his game. Allen has certainly improved but I could make the argument he would have been the next Aaron Rodgers if the Bills picked Lamar Jackson instead and he slid to the Patriots and was given two years as Brady’s understudy. There is no doubt in my mind he would be terrorizing and scaring the hell out of us if he slid to the late 1st round and the Patriots scooped him up. Belichick almost certainly was hoping for this scenario.
  9. The ability to overcome injury is the hallmark of every NFL QB. Kelly - knee, back and shoulder injuries. Montana - back injury Manning - neck injury Brady - ACL injury Brees - shoulder / elbow injury Big Ben - elbow injury surgery Elway - no left ACL blown out in the 70s in high school, torn biceps 1997 Young - concussions Aikman - concussions Favre - Iron Man & pain killers to play through countless injuries, drug abuse, alcohol abuse Rodgers - broken collarbone / clavicle Mahomes - dislocated kneecap 2019 Watson - ACL 2017 Allen - overcame a right elbow injury which could have derailed his entire career if it was more severe. Thankfully Allen is a tough competitive player.
  10. I voted yes as OJ is not worthy of the Wall of Fame. If there was a Wall of Shame put him there. No there is no doubt his name stays in the record books, but a wall dedicated to players who lived honorable lives on and off the field matters most. Your legacy doesn’t end the moment you retire or are traded away. I would apply the same standard to Jim Kelly or Thurman Thomas. It doesn’t matter who.
  11. Lamar Jackson as starting QB is still amazing. He’s young and no one expects him to not progress. If I’m the Washington Football Team next week I’m watching this film, but this is more about Mahomes than it is about Jackson. At this stage of their careers Mahomes is lightyears ahead.
  12. A big part of the Patriots success was actually in their running game & play action, and screen passes. Brady was a master at checking into the right play audible. Allen is getting there.
  13. Not an interception, but they did get the 4th & 9 call correct to make up for it.
  14. The lack of crowd noise might also have an affect. NE still is good at D, no doubt they are finding it easier listening in on the QBs calls at the line. Something to look out for.
  15. I believe that was Taron Johnson he made a break on a screen pass and hit the man, had he possibly located the ball and maneuvered to intercept it he would have found paydirt. Defensive TDs in games like that are the difference between needing a comeback winning driving and being up 35-17. I believe it was 28-17 at that point. Rams would go on to score 8, to cut the lead 25-28.
  16. To me the game boiled down to Allen having the ball last and engineering a gutsy drive. All 11 got the job done.
  17. I think his underlying injuries make him more susceptible to re-injury, hence self preservation.
  18. I’m not too worried about PFF. What I am worried about is too much scrambling backwards in the pocket without a good grasp on the ball. That said Donald should have been called for roughing the passer on one of his sacks, as he dribbled Allen’s helmet into the ground.
  19. When a team comes from behind they will throw at all targets that are open. To me White is simply playing the concept of the defense which is to keep everything in front of him.
