  1. JJ Watt was on pace but injuries. TJ Watt is below pace but shows signs of being able to get sacks in bunches. Bosa Bros? Injuries Mack or Miller? Injuries There is no one in today’s NFL like Bruce or Reggie. Imagine if they were on the same team?
  2. A statistical breakdown of the Patriots. 1st Qtr 5-4-2 (55-44) (5.0-4.0) 2nd Qtr 6-3-2 (96-48) (8.7-4.4) 3rd Qtr 3-6-2 (44-44) (4.0-4.0) 4th Qtr 8-0-3 (105-35) (9.5-3.2) OT 0-1-0 (0-6) Since week 5 the Patriots haven’t lost a game in regulation and have outscored teams 229-107, and during their 5 game win streak 175-50. The Patriots have yet to be outscored in the 4th Qtr. They are formidable and well built after an offseason cash splurge. Like so many Belichick teams the strength is the defense and the offense making minimal mistakes. It’s boring football but a proven strategy. Rookie Baremore is dominant. The running game is solid, and the OL TE & WRs can block. Mac Jones aka Captain Checkdown is raw but he completes 70% of his passes and can hit the deep ball on occasion. The formula to beat this Patriots team is similar to what we will need to do against the Colts Sunday. Sellout to stop the run, and force the QB to out dual Allen.
  3. Allen also had the biggest balls at the 2018 combine and highest wonderlic.
  4. The weather has me thinking this…. Allen has 10-1/8” hands Wentz has 10” hands advantage Buffalo in the rain Singletary 8-1/2” hands Moss 9-1/4” hands Breida 9-5/8” hands Taylor 9-1/2” hands Hines 8-7/8” hands Advantage Buffalo if Breida & Moss get to handle the rock & Bills can force Colts to use their RB2. Bills 20 Colts 9.
  5. Bills by the tape: Record by Qtr, points for / against 1st Qtr 8-0-1 (57 to 6) 2nd Qtr 5-1-3 (80 to 50) 3rd Qtr 7-1-1 (65 to 13) 4th Qtr 3-4-2 (78 to 66) Record 23-6-7. Colts record by quarter, pts for / against 1st Qtr 5-5-0 (62 to 49). 2nd Qtr 5-2-3 (69 to 50). 3rd Qtr 7-0-3 (75 to 26). 4th Qtr 2-7-1 (62 to 96). OT 0-2-0 (0 to 9). Record 19-16-7. Analysis: Bills are facing a team very similar who has shown a stout 3rd Qtr defense and fades in the 4th & OT. The question in this game will be who finishes the 4th Quarter & OT if necessary. Protecting the lead in the 4th Qtr is something the Bills have failed to do twice (PIT & TEN), while the Bills gave up a tie vs (JAX). Last week was the only 4th Qtr the Bills were outscored that didn’t decide the game. Interesting note: since week 5 the Colts haven’t been beat in regulation losing twice in OT to Baltimore & Tennessee, blowing leads in both games, similar to the Bills.
  6. The wind is a bigger factor, also the amount of rain. Misty and low wind favors Bills. Heavy rain & strong wind favors teams with healthier lines & run game. Things are looking ominous given injury report & now weather.
  7. Take care of the Colts, then focus on the Saints. In 7 days we could be 8-3, 7-4, or 6-5, heading into what will be 1st place in the AFC East.
  8. Beasley might be in the mold of Wes Welker & Julian Edelman, but he seems thinner and as a result the hits seem to really take their toll. On a team friendly deal Beasley offers great depth at the slot. Beasley should be retained until he can no longer get separation. I see his window being age 35-36 barring catastrophic injury. All things considered he’s due for a 3-year deal at $4-6 million per season.
  9. Captain Checkdown. Shutdown the run, watch for WR screen on early downs, and RB screen on 3rd and long. Get a lead, then pummel that Alabama boy.
  10. Even if the Titans finish with the #1 seed I can see them getting beat in the divisional. With that scenario here is how I see things turning out. #1 Titans 14-3 #2 Bills 13-4 #3 Ravens 12-5 #4 Chiefs 12-5 #5 Patriots 12-5 #6 Colts 11-6 #7 Steelers/Bengals/Raiders/Chargers 10-7 Wild Card #2 Bills vs #7 (***Steelers***). Bills win Big Ben’s final game, and for 2nd year in a row send a HOF QB from Class of 2004 into retirement. #3 Ravens vs #6 Colts. Ravens find a way to win. #4 Chiefs vs #5 Patriots. Mac Jones & Belichick can’t find Brady magic. Tuck rule saves Chiefs late. Divisional #1 Titans vs #4 Chiefs. Mahomes & Co win going away shutting down the aging RB & WRs of Tennessee. #2 Bills vs #3 Ravens. Buffalo’s D does it again & shuts down Lamar & Co. AFC Championship #2 Bills vs #4 Chiefs. Lake Effect Snow, Bills Mafia & Dominant Defense stop the Chiefs passing attack. Bills run for over 250 yards and Allen runs for 2 scores.
  11. 17 points and could had a 3 or 7 more points. Better luck 1/9/22.
  12. Ward lost his in a bicycle accident from childhood from what I’ve read. Thurman Thomas lost his in a college pickup basketball game.
  13. The Patriots don’t make many errors. You have to beat them you can’t turn the ball.
  14. You don’t even need your ACL. 3-6 weeks of strengthening supporting muscles, then go out there in the DonJoy brace. Many of players have played without their ACL.
  15. Still trying to figure out how we can use tempo, motion and our WR speedsters to tear up zone defenses. I liked the little flash we saw from our rookie WR Stevenson. McKenzie is always open.
  16. Trump is my favorite populist socialist President. Trump gave me a bigger stimulus check than Biden did. Biden lied - said $2,000 only got $1,400. Trump also instituted free healthcare during covid. And free jabs. Biden would have never done that, Trump forced his hand. Trump also gave millions of business owners checks to the tune of $4 trillion. This was the largest upwards transfer of wealth in US history. A rising tide lifts all boats, remember? Meanwhile we are waiting for the trickle up. The ensuing inflation is necessary to justify and prevent failing prices so we don’t see baby boom wealth deflate. Do we really want McMansions falling in value? Don’t your kids deserve to inherit a $1 million house and not a $250k house? So what if a few FED presidents, Pelosi & and GOP members made a few hundred million front running stock trades? Corruption is a part of the economy. Greed is good. As Biden privately promised donor class “nothing will fundamentally change.” Except no more Trump socialism.
  17. All blue would be ok, but this blue pant thing is more ominous to game outcome than an appearance on The Manning MNF Show.
  18. What kills me is our RPO play, where we fake a handoff to the RB and wait till the last second while the pocket is collapsing there’s chaos all around and by then Allen has .1 seconds to throw.
