  1. So now Overdorf is not in the meetings but Mrs. Pegula is. New coach will report directly to the Pegulas. Whaley is heading what now exactly? The coffee & donut committee? Turning into a circus by the hour.
  2. The old guard absolutely has a sense of entitlement and why wouldn't they? Overdorf & Brandon are in charge of finding yet another head coach now. Whaley gets to sit in again. Pegula has done nothing but pay for the team and tried to bring in Polian, that failed and he gives the old guard all their power back. I agree, a complete house cleaning from top down was in order and completely necessary but it's just not happening. It will happen in another two years when they do nothing but fail again.
  3. How does everyone feel about Jim Overdorf? He's helping Whaley and Brandon with the head coach search. That's all very, very disturbing. Pegula's Plan A was Polian. That failed and Plan B was to let the same old cast of characters continue on. Go ahead and rationalize it all day long. Apparently, very little has changed at the top and that's not good.
  4. I'll add all of the "old guard" needs to be fired immediately. Your Berchtolds, Overdorffs, Littmans and such. They are the problem and have been part of the problem for well over a decade. Pegula needs to clean out the upper front office.
  5. Dream: Rex Ryan. Would never be dull and he hates NE as much as we do. Eh: Jim Schwartz- One winning season in Detroit. Great DC. Lousy HC. Hell No: Adam Gase- Another "young offensive genius". I would be too if Peyton Manning were my QB.
  6. Whaley with advisement from......Russ Brandon. Good luck with that. Hope Whaley does better with the coaching search than he has with the draft. Then he can find a QB. Though Pegula learned his lesson from the Sabres disaster when he took over. Guess not. People call Whaley a genius and a rising star. Based on what exactly? Then they make excuses for him and blame Buddy Nix. Everyone is going to be disappointed with the new coach and the mediocrity will continue for the rest of the decade.
  7. I think the only two games Lou Holtz won in the NFL were against the Bills. Get him.
  8. Bills haven't had a good TE since Metzelaars. I'll gladly take Julius Thomas and pay him Jimmy Graham numbers . For some reason the Bills treat the TE position like a disease. All the great offenses have great TE's these days.
  9. Sabres are not in a shambles. It's called rebuilding. Finally doing it the right way. There are no quick fixes and it takes time. Sabres are not trying to suck, they just do because of the lack of overall talent at the NHL level. Once Pegula fired Regier, that ship was righted. Has to do the same thing with the Bills, completely clean house, find and put the right people in the organization. The BILLS have been a dysfunctional, cheap, loser for 15 years. About time that changed.
  10. It is 100% total BS. Go read the feature story in the Buffalo News sports. From Polian's own mouth as told to Vic Carucci. I'll 100% believe that over anything else. Simply had to do with Polian not wanting to make a 5 year commitment to the Bills at his age. Had nothing to do with Marrone bad mouthing the Bills, had zero to do with money. Polian thought it was going to be an advisory role and it turned into a total overhaul. he didn't want to do it so that's that.
  11. Charlie Weis. He was allegedly an offensive genius once. He hates Belichick. He is only getting paid by three different colleges, he needs another payday.
  12. Why is it too soon for Reich to be a head coach? He played for 14 years and has been an assistant for 8 years. Worked his way up from QB coach of the Colts to the OC of the Chargers. Is there a magic number of years it takes? Has there been anyone that was just named a head coach without being an assistant? Everyone was given a chance at some point. Reich is a year older than Rex Ryan. Ryan was an assistant for 22 years. Same amount of experience. Jim Harbaugh was QB coach with the Raiders and then was hired as the Chargers head coach. Never even a coordinator. Marrone was the Saints OC for 3 years. What happened? Was he good or did he have Drew Brees in his prime? I'd say he had Brees. Point is, if the Bills decide that Reich is the guy, then hire him. Can't turn out any worse than the last 15 years.
  13. Whaley is a terrible GM. Drafting EJ and trading to draft Watkins should be reason enough to be fired. Any GM can do a few good things. How many make mistakes that big and keep their jobs? If Polian is named President then everyone under him should go. They have to somehow break out of this never ending cycle of mediocrity. Build from the top down. All new everything and yes Ralph WAS cheap when it came to coaches/management. That is no longer the case. Stop hanging on to the dream that Whaley is a football genius. Brandon can go too. The fact he had any say in football decisions is laughable.
  14. Can't handle the Buffalo media....one, you are in the wrong profession....two, have fun in NY City.
  15. Bills won 9 games in spite of Marrone, not because of him. They were never going to do any better if he had stayed. Never. If Polian is in fact the new President, everyone below him will be gone. We will see some familiar faces and some new ones. I know this, I'd bet we will win more than we lose. We will get a QB. We will have a 1st round draft pick in 2015 and spending MONEY is no longer an issue whether it's on coaches or players, it will be spent.
  16. I'd trade Dareus for a top 15 first round pick in a second if there was a sure thing available at QB. Not Winston though. All that other added stuff is seriously messed up. I would bet Winston ends up in prison before playing in a NFL playoff game. What NFL team has the local police on the payroll like Florida State does with the Tallahassee police?
  17. With future pro bowler Cyrus Kouandijo protecting his blindside. Get lost. If EJ had any potential even as a marginal starter, they would have left him in after a 2-2 start. At the least, he would have played a half at NE. There's a long list of good college QB's that just couldn't make it in the NFL. EJ is on that list.
  18. 2nd round pick, starting LT at Alabama and he was so bad that they moved him to guard and then he was inactive for every single game. Did not even trust him to back up for one meaningless game on what most people think is a below average OL. They had 5th and 7th round picks at OL starting most of the year. If he would have been a 4th round pick they would have just straight up cut him. Just can't miss that badly on a 2nd round pick.
  19. They probably go buy a bunch of draft preview magazines the week before the draft and see if anyone jumps off the page. Bunch of clowns.
  20. Massive hole at QB and the wrong guy looking for one. Don't need the best OL, Pittsburgh has an average at best OL and they put up huge numbers. Obviously, defense doesn't win championships anymore either. I don't care how good everyone else is, in today's NFL, if you do not have a good QB, you are not going anywhere.
  21. Really going from 6-10 to 9-7 should be cause for optimism and hope that they can go to 11-5 and the playoffs next year but it's not. They will never be any better than this year with these guys in charge. Plenty of reasons why but the biggest simply is QB. We do not have a good one, no good ones are out there and even if there were, I don't trust Whaley to find one. As long as they spin the wheels at the QB position it won't matter what they do. Doesn't matter who the head coach, OC, WR's, RB's, TE's and OL are, doesn't matter if the D is the best in the league, none of it it matters if you don't have a good QB. I don't care what nonsense Punt Marrone and Whaley were babbling about for 35 minutes, it was pointless. Evaluate, analytics and on and on. I want to hear from the new owner. What's the plan? Better not be the same thing as when he took over the Sabres, I hope really hope he learned his lesson after the Regier/Ruff fiasco.
  22. Had one of the top defenses in the NFL for 2 straight years. Failed to make the playoffs. All the things listed are nothing more than excuses (and they won the game in Detroit). I firmly believe that Marrone has reached his ceiling. They will never do any better than they did this year with him as the coach. They could not win when it counted. Who else got a third year? Gailey, Jauron, Williams. Mularkey quit afer two. All mediocre bottom third of the league coaches, same as Marrone.
  23. 1 yard, a cloud of field turf and punt. That's Marrone. Problem is I think 9-7 and just short of a wild card is the ceiling for Marrone & Co. That's as good as it will ever get. They won 9 games with the best defense in the NFL. That should be a huge disappointment to everyone. Playoffs or bust, right? They busted. Who cares if they had 6 or 7 or 9 wins? 9 was still not good enough. No way they can possibly fix all the problems with the offense in one off season especially with no 1st round pick. I believe they also do not have a 4th round pick. Current management and coaching staff will say anything to keep their high paying jobs. Who wouldn't? Big question is do the Pegula's want to stick with mediocrity or actually build a championship caliber organization? Stick with mediocrity and we'll be here next year at this time saying the same things with the same questions just like we have had for the past 15 years
  24. No Gronk, Gray, Blunt or Edelman for the Pats. No Dareus, Gilmore for the Bills. Nobody knows how much Brady plays. Pats 37 Bills 20.
  25. Now come the denials and conflicting reports. Polian himself allegedly said as far from truth as can be. Another "news" outlet says Bills standing pat. If that's the case, just come back next year at this time when everyone does get fired after they miss the playoffs again and pick up from here.
