  1. NFL will eventually implode due to its greed. TV money will be $25 billion a year in a decade. It's $9 billion now. They will take games off network TV and put them on PPV. They need a way to pay for rights fees and advertising alone won't cut it. Will ticket prices ever go down? Nope. They will go up and up and up as will everything else. Buffalo gets a new stadium? Ticket prices will double. It's barely affordable for a lot of people now. Why do we need a billion plus dollar stadium? Go look at what Baylor built for $265 million. Why do you need more than that? You don't. The NFL (owners) need to make more and more and more money, that's all there is to it. Eventually the majority of people will not be able to afford to go to any games or watch them on TV, franchises will fold or move and that will eventually be the end of the NFL.
  2. Best: Terry Pegula is named new owner, learned his lesson in not cleaning house when he took over the Sabres as the Bills finish 8-8 and everyone is fired on 12/29. Worst: MLSE is named new owner as the Bills finish 3-13 and Cleveland gets the 1st overall pick in 2014. Most Likely: Kyle Orton leads the Bills to a 9-7 record, just missing a wild card berth in a season ending loss at New England. Pegula gives everyone another year.
  3. They didn't give Orton $5 million to stand on the sideline and operate the tablet. That should speak for itself. Marrone, Hackett, Whaley- their jobs are all on the line as there is a new owner on the way. They have to win this season. They can't give EJ another year to develop. If he does not win games early he will sit. They did it to themselves. I don't feel sorry for any of them.
  4. They said he was very smart and a great mentor and was going to be great for EJ and his development.,,,,,,,Guess not.
  5. Then he also said he told the coaches not to put too much in the game plan for the Bears. Waiting to unleash it all in the playoffs.
  6. Maroon said they are not at all comfortable with Tuel as the number 2. Will be looking for someone better to bring in. Kind of odd that if the don't like him, they didn't play him tonight. Figure Tuel Time has been cancelled.
  7. Worst preseason I have ever seen. That's 3.5 decades worth of preseasons. Offense is just totally lost and the 1st round pick has a bad rib. Don't care if they win in preseason. Score some points, show some improvement. Zero improvement over 5 games. Looked worse in the two home games. The big excuse I hear is how they run nothing but basic offense. Well, they suck at that too. Other teams score in preseason. Defense looks decent but if they can't score, they won't win.
  8. 82 players responded. There are 1,696 active players in the NFL. Uh.......that's just a totally useless poll.
  9. Bears are going to cut Palmer. Trentative Edwards is the 4th QB on the Raiders roster. Signing someone retired/unemployed doesn't really improve anything. They did that last year. There will be some guys cut by Tuesday and then more on Aug 30th. Maybe someone better than what we have will be available. Just have to wait and see
  10. Junction Boys II? Nothing brings a team together like a long "tough" training camp, fights and the coach being a complete maniac. Think anyone in this league today could have played for guys like Vince Lombardi or Bear Bryant?
  11. Black is one of their colors. They wore black jerseys & pants last season more than once. Just adding a black helmet this year.
  12. I don't believe there are 8 bidders. MS was getting reamed for their handling of the sale and it magically goes from 3 to 8 overnight? I believe there are 5 bidders. First off, the Bills are not moving in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, regardless of who buys the team. They won't be sold to anyone who intends to move them- ever. Period. End of story. Here's who I believe the bidders are and ranked in terms of ultimately having the winning bid. 1. The Pegulas. 80% 2. Tom Golisano 10% 3. Gundlach/Kelly 5% 4. Donald Trump 3% 5. Bon Jovi/Toronto 1% 6-8. Unknown Phantom Bidders 1%
  13. What really bothers me is Morgan Stanley letting the JBJ/TO group resubmit their initial bid. It has to be higher with more assurance the team stays. We do not know if they actually have to sell to the highest bidder. Could just be whom they feel is the best. Best for who? The Bills or the NFL? When the Boston Red Sox were for sale, they did not go to the highest bidder. Also bothers me that they broke the NDA all over the place yet it's not a big deal. MS promised an awful lot and they haven't delivered. It's turned into a circus. They are still looking for more bidders? Unless Rockefeller or Howard Hughes comes back from the dead and is a big football fan then I don't think there are any other bidders out there. Point is what if JBJ/TO comes up to $1.2 billion or a little higher? That sufficient enough to make them the best bid even though Pegula's bid is higher? Something is just not sitting right with me. Until JBJ/TO officially declares they are out, I won't be convinced they (MS/NFL) are doing everything possible to make JBJ/Toronto the owners.
  14. Resumbmitting an initial bid. That's garbage. Break the NDA all over the place and it's no big deal. That's garbage. Why does JBJ and Toronto bother when they don't have enough money and are just very unwelcome to begin with? The whole thing is really all just speculation but it sounds like there is one and only one serious, legitimate bid for the team and they meet all of the conditions and that's the Pegula bid. They have the money. They have kept quiet. They will pay all in cash upfront. Will their bid be the highest at the end of the day? Absolutely. Who is trying to drive up the price and why? To pretend there was more interest than there is? Who cares? Why are they bending over backwards and kissing Bon Jovi's and Toronto's ass all through the process when they can't win? Makes zero sense. The whole process has been a big clusterface. Continuing to drag out this charade is just pointless and it's aggravating to Bills fans. If it were me, I'd fire Morgan Stanley. I'd have an auction Friday. Highest bid, pay in cash and the team is yours. Minimum bid is $1.25 billion.
  15. Bills-Giants game had a 26.2 rating on Ch. 2. Far and away highest in the country. Close to a low rated regular season game here. Bills usually hit mid 30's. Nationally it beat the Red Sox-Yankees game. Bills were 11th in the NFL in TV ratings last year. Not bad for a small market. Just imagine how high ratings are when they are good.
  16. EJ Manuel has to play better. Period. I don't care if it's "only" training camp, "only" the first preseason game, only the fifth preseason game or whatever. He has to show progress. He has not done that at all. If anything he looked worse. He just locked on his target. 3 batted balls on 7 attempts? That's all first week OTA rookie garbage. Bills have serious talent at WR and RB, they finally have depth on the OL. D looks like it will be good. It's all there to make a playoff run but ultimately it all rests on the QB. Now we will hear all the excuses. He's rusty. It's only the first preseason game. It's the OL's fault. It's the WR's fault. The tablets didn't work. Could write a book on how it's everyone else's fault except the QB. I hope the rust is off, the tablets work and the OL and WR's stop making mistakes by Friday.
  17. Maybe Bon Jovi can bring an Arena League team back to Buffalo. He had the business acumen for that apparently. Buffalo Bon Jovis vs the LA Kiss. That will draw a few hundred fans. Unless someone just gives him half a billion dollars in the next few weeks (which probably still won't be enough), it looks like the Toronto group is all but finished. Oh and someone tell Trump that his billion dollar bid was half a billion short. He's mad they didn't just give him the team. Ha.
  18. Gary Marangi. Supposed to replace Joe Ferguson in 1976. Got his chance early in the regular season and just royally sucked. Gary Anderson. That's right. He Lost training camp battle to Mike-Mayer in 82. Norwood beat out 9 other kickers in 85 camp. Darrick Brownlow. Plan B in 1992. LB looked great in preseason. Cut.
  19. Bills fan for almost 40 years, I always expect the rug to get pulled out from under us. Not impatient. If 5pm on the 30th was a soft deadline, why did they not just say that? I believe there is a ton of speculation, misinformation and flat out guessing going on at this point. Nobody really knows what any of the facts are. We don't actually even know what the original bids were or even if Toronto bid or not. All we know for sure is that Trump and Pegula placed bids. That's it at this point.
  20. Sounds to me like Morgan Stanley is moving the goal posts to try and make more money or :censored: Bon Jovi didn't bid and they are giving them more time. If the absolute deadline was July 30th at 5pm, why do they come back at 10pm the NEXT day and say it's still open for an indefinite time period? Only 3 bids out of 60 whatever the heck they called it that were sent out, MS was out combing Wall Street all Summer looking for billionaires to bid. It's all BS. Pegula's the high bid. Trump won't match. This could have been over and done with by tomorrow even though they had been saying it would take until October. Here we go again with endless speculation, anonymous sources that know nothing and all sorts of other garbage. :wallbash:
  21. One: It's PEGULA. Don't misspell it on a jersey. Two: Texas A&M would sue the jersey right off your back.
  22. I do not believe at all the Bon Jovi/Toronto group will be the winning bidder but if for some reason they are, just sign a new lease to go along with the new stadium by 2019 that states the Bills can't leave Buffalo/WNY for any reason whatsoever and they can't play in Canada at all for the next 35 years . I don't see how someone who has a net worth of $300 million can be the lead owner of a franchise that costs a billion dollars. He has to put down 30%. He is going to be selling his guitars and gold records at the flea market? Rogers is the one with the money. MLSE should stick to their crap hockey franchise. I believe this is just a publicity stunt by Bon Jovi which will lead to his being part owner of a Los Angeles expansion franchise someday.
  23. Usually a timed 300 yard shuttle run, Couple of interesting old Bills items in here, http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/An-inside-look-at-the-NFL-conditioning-tests.html
  24. Which AFC team will take a significant step backward? DENVER Which NFC team will take a significant step backward? CAROLINA Which AFC team will take a significant step forward? 25. So if he failed the conditioning test....that means he showed up to camp....out of shape. What else did he have to do for the last month besides consult with his lawyers about his two upcoming trials? This guy is as unprofessional as it gets. Should have showed up in the best shape of his life with something to prove.
