  1. I love the way his stepdad refers to him throughout the video as his son. That is a man who did the right thing with another persons child. I give him a ton of respect for that alone. Add in the way they both chose the path of honest knowledge and guidance to a young person, showing them the consequences of choices, makes me believe in Sammy even more. He made his choices, and here we are. I hope the very best for him and his family. I hope Sammy is able to get them out of the neighborhood, and up to Buffalo before Sept....
  2. I wouldn't mind seeing McCarron here. We need a backup
  3. Every time I watch Manziel play, I think of Jake Plummer. I think Johnny football will be better than Plummer ever was. Whomever drafts him will get a player. I believe JM will succeed and have a great career. But i thought Losman would too, when we drafted him, and that didn't turn out so well...So take it with a grain of salt.
  4. I knew a family named Rhodes. They named their children, Rocky, Stony, and Pebbles. My wife's best friend was a teacher, and she says her favorite name she ever had in class was Clamydia...as in the STD...
  5. agree on the US part, and the $5 part. I want one...
  6. I wouldn't mind if we drafted Lewan. And I also wouldn't mind if he was charged with assault after the Patriots game every year.
  7. I got to fire a .308 AR 10 then one time at the local range. A guy had one in there and he let me shoot about 6-8 rounds through it. Awesome weapon. Love to pick one up....
  8. I will admit to being a fan of NDT. I have seen some of his lectures on the net, and he is awesome. It takes a special skill to convey complex ideas without sounding condescending or arrogant. If He was one of my Profs in college, i might have changed my major.... This show won't let him be himself though, just a narrator. Kind of a let down. I do love the reboot of the original. I hope upcoming episodes deliver more content though...
  9. Who says people don't use an AR-15 to hunt? I want the baby back ribs please....
  10. but i need a twenty. sorry i couldn't resist
  11. I think the down acts as fabulous insulation. Down jackets and comforters are quite warm. so down feathers under flight feathers probably keep little guys warm...
  12. Payers sent from Arizona. Now be with her and comfort her.
  13. Thank You. I love Kiko. Should have been ROY.
  14. Ok, I live in phoenix, and I am old, so could someone please tell me who the future HOF'er is?
  15. A very happy Congratulations to Andre Reed!!! He was a key Cog to the K-gun Wheel. We couldn't have done it without him. Many a big win due to his ability to RAC....
  16. Yes! the Soggy Bottom Boys are Country..... Good movie. lots of good quotes, like "I nicked the census man"
  17. That, IMO, is the single saddest song ever written. I can't listen to it without thinking of how horrible it would be, and yet how inevitable it is for us all.(at least those with kids) . They grow up into their own, and they may or may not give a shiite about us. My boy is a Packer fan for crying out loud...
  18. ^^^^^^ I agree with this. Stay away from pictures. Pictures are good, but i bet she has received that one already. This woman has gone out of her way to show you that she thinks of you as family, and you need to give her the same treatment. I like your idea of antiques, or antique jewelry. Something that she treasured from her past, that she cant find. An old first edition book. An Antique brooch, or necklace. A nice painting. look around, ask around with other family members, what was she in to. what does she miss the most? show her that you appreciate what she has given you, by giving the same courtesy of thoughtfulness. take your time, and get it right
  19. Wow. Nice trip down memory lane. I was a regular back in the D&C days, and a more frequent poster before Flutie v RJ. And mostly a lurker since. The entire boards feel and behavior has morphed SOOO many times over the 15 or so years i have been around. I miss the discussion, hate the attacks and snide comments. IMO-it coincides with society overall as we live in a more demeaning and aggressive, self satisfying world. I guess that means I am just getting old. (FYI-48 is not old, its seasoned). Personally, I miss Aussie, Lori, JSP, The Dean, Ice, and all the other old timers who have gradually slipped away over time. Why come hear and be abused? ESPECIALLY if you live near Buffalo and get your news in a more traditional manor. As I live in Phoenix, I love the connection to my old home that I am able to get here. Thanks again Scott, and all the others for providing a place to meet and discuss about the Bills. Back to Lurking now.
  20. i expect to see a Qb who has spent more time preparing to start, and a guy who has a better grasp of what to expect when he does. I expect to see a guy who looks more like the guy who got it done in the preseason worthless games. Tuel goes 21of 31 for 245 with 2 td's and 1 int. Bills win 23-21 on a carpenter winner at the end. I am afraid we will see the other tuel to start and flynn in the 2nd quarter after an "injury" to tuel. with bills losing 31-7....
  21. i think it goes without saying that for the Bills to have any chance at all, the defense must play the best game of the season to date. We cannot allow the Bungals to control the ball on offense. We will not be able to score alot of points, so our Defense MUST limit them 10 or less to have a shot...
  22. i know they are saying that Mario set a team record with 4.5 sacks today, but I thought Biscuit had 5 sacks in a game back in like 89? does anybody else remember this?
  23. thats funny! I was raised in WNY--so Bills fan. Lived in KC for a year, saw my first few games there in 77-78, so i am a Royals fan. At least KC won a WS!
  24. I have 3 racks of baby-backs going on the smoker at 6 am for lunch, followed after with 2 tri-tip roasts for dinner. To wash it down, i have a 15 yr old Glenfiddich. I am on MTN time, so kick-off at 10 am, lunch by 1130. hopefully pull steaks off between afternoon and night game.
  25. Hey Nervous, Sorry to hear about your family struggles. You have shown courage by sharing with us. I will pray for your son, and you, and your family. I think by confronting this issue as a family, you will have a better chance at overcoming the addiction. My family was touched by a Heroin tragedy, although secondhand. I wont post it here, but I want you to know that you are not alone. There are people who care about you who will help! please allow your friends and family to help you get through this. Hang in there! Again, i will send my well wishes towards you and yours.... fight on!
