I would agree with you 3rd, about Brown only having one game with us, but all his film and highlights show him improvising, looking for holes. He has never shown me the ability to be an every down back. As far as our oline and run blocking, i think back to the switch at QB from Edwards to Fitzpatrick. We went from the most sacked team in the league to the fewest sacked team in the league in one season. With the same players. All because Fitz would fire the ball out, or escape if he had to. The style and characteristics of the qb changed the success or failure of the oline. The same things apply to Rb's. If we had a true number 1, instead of an aging guy with slightly less then number 1 talent, then i think our oline would be much better. And our oline has new guys, in new positions, trying to learn to play together. AND-throw in a new QB in week 5, and i dont think they are nearly as bad as the "experts" or us fans think. Give them some more time together and coaching and they may be OK. Any way i look at it though, i see the bills drafting a rb early next year. One of our first two picks i think.

my opinion is that the rb's vision, or lack thereof is the biggest reason behind our lack of a run game. Fred has the best vision of all our backs. He sees the hole, sets up his blockers and gets as much as he can. CJ uses speed as his primary ability, and sometimes chooses poorly. Boobie runs straight ahead, and does not read blocks, or see holes. And Brown has the worst vision of just about any back i have seen. He sees holes that are not there, and completely misses the one right in front of him. The example Bandit just showed us is a prime example of brown's lack of vision. Just hit the damn hole in front of you instead of trying to cut back into a much smaller hole. The primary run right play design has a man on a man, all blocked, with an opening that most backs would have been able to exploit for a positive gain. Brown cuts back and gets nada... maybe that is why he has been sitting...

i like whaley, and i love the direction the team is heading. I hope we lock him up. and i am not convinced EJ is done yet either. I felt the entire time he played that he was being timid, due to coaching. And if he gets another chance, i expect him to let his game hang out there for all to see. Good or bad. Cant be much worse i'ld say. but maybe playing like his hair is on fire will be just what he needs...

i just wanted to drop back in and say that the show i saw last sat night was awesome. Volbeat didn't really fit in with the others. And Hellyeah was my favorite. Something about their music hit my rage just right. i prefer a certain tempo, fast and hard...for music i mean.... :flirt: :death:

I have been a Jaelen Strong fan since he started playing for ASU. He is the next Anquan Boldin. He is not fast, but he has the strongest hands of any receiver i have seen. He catches everything around him. Great in traffic. Great under pressure. I just dont think we need another WR. Especially since we dont have a first. We will have to address other needs first. I do think Strong will last into the second round, because he will run slow at the combine in April, but we still wont draft him...

My problem with Schwartz is his predictability with the defense. We do too much base defense. Two games stick out. San Diego, and NE. When the game is on the line, you must bring pressure. That 4th qtr drive by SD was horrible defense. And we all know that Brady may burn the Blitz, but he also throws the ball away early if being pressured, and makes mistakes. SO , I would bring pressure more often. And WHY didnt we double Gronk? He would not beat my team as easy as he does now. Let the pesky 'dola 'rola twins try and beat us.

I agree that this year feels different. It has never felt more like things were breaking our way than it does right now. I honestly think we win Sunday, and go on a little run, THIS team may be the one to finally turn the corner and bring some joy back to Buffalo....

Agreed. I don't have a problem with his scheme, or "base" defense. I just want him to throw in more Blitzes to help the front 4 and keep the other guys guessing. I love our run "d", but we must get pressure at times, and he still runs Base, no pressure...its why we didnt get off the field on 3rd down this past week....

I miss the aggressive attitude of Pettine's defense. I wish Schwartz would bring more pressure, and mix up the style of defense more. The key to winning football games(well, one of them anyway), is to kepp the other team guessing, and off-balance. If they don't know what to expect, we have an advantage. Schwartz is too predictable at this point, and that MUST change. Or teams will adapt and eat us up. Anyone remember the quick start with Bledsoe, then teams figured out how to attack him, and we didn't adjust and stop it. We lose.
