JW AP Article: Terry Pegula on Why He Likes McDermott
boater replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it was a good hire. I also think the Bills are better lead and managed than comes across. Here is the problem: Very bad communications and PR. The team comes across as a dumpster fire because their communications with fans and the press suck***. Someone should know TP soundbites sound great to other PhD's, but not to the general public. The comms department needs to prepare canned soundbites for Terry. Someone needs to get Whaley out there praising the hire, and sounding like he had skin in the game, even if not true Whaley should have been comms coached before his disastrous end of season presser McDermott needs a brief on Bills recent comms pitfalls, and what mistakes not to make Where I once worked, if you were scheduled for an important briefing, you did an internal "murder board" first where you briefed with internal staff playing the role of outsiders. They picked you apart over and over until your brief was bullet proof. Obviously, the Bills don't do this... think Whaley presser. Also if a major announcement came up a "strategic comms plan" was executed. Here's what the owner will say, here is the press release, we'll compliment with this leak etc. etc. Obviously the Bills don't do this... think Rex firing. *** also, TBN is in the tank against this team. Low information fans (ticket buyers) follow TBN lead. The Bills need to fix their relationship with the prima donnas at TBN. -

Jerrah said: "Word is..." and "According to reports..." Move along. Nothing to see here. By today's pathetic fake news standards Word Is ... could be a Stadium Wall post. According to reports could be an article written based on a Word Is. Code words for good sources: sources high in the organization, or sources close to the Bills .... you don't see that in this article. -
[closed]Tyrod will NOT improve unless he gets better coaching
boater replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod won't be here, so better coaching is a moot point. ...and a 6th year QB should already have basic skills down. Such as not staring down your primary receiver, and in pocket footwork. -
Coach search has come (again) who is the best fit?
boater replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't know Dabo well earlier. But I just saw this ESPN video, he'd be a great Bills coach. -
Normally.. Coach making the decision is correct. However... when 27 million is on the line for one potential Tyrod slip up/injury; it is perfectly understandable for the Owners to over-rule. People make it sound so easy to when it's Other Peoples Money (OPM). But if it were your money--you'd do the same thing Pegs did. Pegs was pretty open to the fiscal loss associated with firing Rex. I can certainly empathize with him not wanting to take the red ink as a habit. He didn't get rich by being an idiot with his money. And we wouldn't have the Bills without his business acumen. This. You'd figure after 50+ years in business, the Bills would have pretty tight boiler plate contracts. Deep Throat at the Noco told me: the dude who wrote Tyrod's contract also wrote the Affordable Care Act.

I vote no to any of the prodigals. New blood, younger than 50 is needed. Though, if I was water boarded to make a choice: Wade. The Particle Sun thing reminds me of story a nurse told me: The young Mom just delivered her baby. She overheard the Doctors talking about the presence of meconium. She was so overblown by the sound of that, she named the baby Meconium.** ** at the click thru: meconium is fecal matter

Russ will NOT be involved in HC hiring process

Russ will NOT be involved in HC hiring process
boater replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RE Russ Brandon haters... do you realize, of the Bills fan base as a whole (not just TBD), prolly only 1 in 10 people know who RB is **. Leading to... Pegs isn't thinking one iota about fan reaction to Russ Brandon in his decision making. ** It's like only 3 in 10 Americans know what a US President's cabinet is. -

Leak source - It must be Brandon
boater replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ahhhh.... that's exactly what they want you to think. LOL Graham executing a Disinformation Campaign, to plant plausible deniability of RB as leak. RB is Deep Throat, wearing a trench coat, meeting Graham in Hammer's Lot. -
Leak source - It must be Brandon
boater replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OP is likely correct. Though many commenters, as usual, over estimate the football operations influence of Brandon. He has nil influence on football. But I guess everyone has their scapegoat. But the key to a good scapegoat---it has to be plausible. For those wishing RB the door, cry in your beer, he ain't going nowheres. There guy who is.... President of the Buffalo Bills President of the Buffalo Sabres (and managing partner) President of the Rochester Americans President of Pegula Sports and Entertainment ...is not the resume of guy who gets fired for a bad football streak, for which in a limited distant time, he had partial responsibility for. He is the leak. -
The fix is in-- Lynn will be the new head coach

Just curious, from an intellectual point of view. I'm not suggesting it be done, nor ruling it out. Obstacles: Rex probably signed a Head Coach contract, not a more flexible personal services, or generic coach contract Egos of all involved: Rex, The Pegs, Whaley etc. would interfere Rex contract may allow him to double-dip incomes, ex: get his Bills HC pay, while appearing at NBC or whomever... and Rex may want to do this Possible enablers: Rex might like the idea. He always seemed outside his comfort zone and enjoyment level as HC. Many many fired HCs have reappeared as very successful DC or OC. He would earn HC money as a DC Rex appears to be the kind of guy who could set aside his ego and work hard to makes this work. At the end of the day, he seems like X and O's devotee. Demote Rex, Promote Lynn, Hire new OC. Have Coughlin provide consulting services. Please be easy on the replies guys. I'm asking a theoretical--because I've never seen this done. I'm not in Mom's basement with an NFL Stratego Board, Cheetohs and Red Bull.

PFW: Tom Coughlin the favorite to replace Rex Ryan

No to Coughlin---his style won't work with millenials. Note: he was a coach at RIT and had a very good reputation. -
Doug Whaley - The Tim Graham Feature Story
boater replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
edited... paragraphs are your friend. Use a new one when your thought flow changes slightly Reading Tim Graham article made me sick to my stomach to be a bill fan. What is worst, is the fans that believe that rubbish. How quickly we forgot the state of the Bills when Buddy Nix took over. The organization was in such shambles no one wanted to coach this team .Granted the main reason for this was the health of Ralph Wilson. More importantly the roster was not talented. Looking back the only major talent on the team was Marshawn Lynch and all of buffalo wanted him out of town. Where the roster was then, compared to now, is remarkable. Graham's article talked about the amount of draft picks still on the current roster during the term Whaley and Nix has presided over the team. He compare the Bills roster to the lowly Browns who kept their entire draft class about 15 deep. Then on the other hand compared the bills to the Steeler, Packers and Bengals who have had the same head coach / GM combination forever. In the last six years the bills has move from Jauron to Gailey,to Marone and now Rayan. We all know how the NFL works, new coaches bring new schemes, idea and players. Under Chan Gaily we were going to play a 3/4 defense with George Edwards. then we switch to a 4/3 with Dave Wannstead. Then Marone came with Petine and switch back to a 3/4. Petine leaves, we go back to 4/3 wide nine with Swartz. Then Rex comes and we over hall everything to move back to a 3/4. There is no way we can look at personal move in such a vacuum without considering the coaching staff. The biggest problem for Whaley is that he has never been given the ability to freely select his own head coach. Does anyone think he choose Marone or Rex. This team is far more talented on both sides of the ball than anytime within the last 5 years. Fans and the Bills management always want to fire the person that has actually done his job. It's time Whaley demand to the owners that he be allowed to do his job and get the coach he is comfortable with developing the talent that is clearly on this team. It doesn't matter how he acquires talent, draft , free agency... who cares. Tim graham is a unprofessional loser, that why he is back at the buffalo news instead of major national outlet writing crappy articles with a clear agenda. Every true Bills fan should know that article was not worth paper it was written on when Graham said Doug Marone wanted Fitz to be his quarterback...Really.. wake up BILLS FAN -

We Should Pick Up the Option on Tyrod No Matter What

Inspired by the Buffalo News headline "Should he stay or should he go: The Tyrod Debate " Now, sing in tune to the Clash classic "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" Darlin' you got to let me know Should I stay or should I go? If you say that you are mine I'll be here 'til the end of time So you got to let me know Should I stay or should I go? It's always tease tease tease You're happy when I'm on my knees One day is fine and next is black So if you want me off your back Well come on an' let me know Should I Stay or should I go? Should I stay or should I go now? Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble An' if I stay it will be double So come on and let me know The bold text says to me: let Tyrod go. -
