Questions Surrounding a New Stadium in OP .
That's No Moon replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
The old stadium has serious structural issues. Particularly in the upper decks. The only way to even consider keeping it would be to take those down and leave the lower bowl. Even with that there is no need to keep it and continue maintaining it just to practice and host high school games. The Bills have their own practice facilities already, high schools have their own stadiums already and if they want a venue for the section VI playoffs they'd ask for the new stadium anyway. They will strip out everything that can be sold or recycled, I'd imagine a lot of the concrete will end up as fill for the hole where the stadium is. -

They don't throw it away. They won't bring it to the new building, they will sell everything that is still usable. -
I think it's fair to say that SOME people do that. There are plenty of people who don't and will hold that spreadsheet until the day they die. The overall problem with analytics like this is, no matter what, they are in the aggregate. As Pees was pointing out they don't and can't account for all of the minutia that actually goes into real life. Each trial of something is basically treated as equal; all 4th and 2s are the same and lots of other relevant things are screened out. People love to use analytics as a cudgel now and when you do something that is against what the spreadsheet says and it doesn't work you will get called to the carpet for it even if you shouldn't because in the actual real world it was the right thing to do for that one discrete event. I'll use baseball as an example for a moment. Most SABREmetrics people believe that you should not steal bases nor should you sacrifice bunt. Ever. In the aggregate, the numbers bear that out. The problem is, situationally, that doesn't work the same way. In the 9th inning of a tie game when you only need one run and you have the bottom of the order up, getting a runner to second base with less than two outs is an EXTREMELY valuable thing to be able to do and it increases the number of ways you can then score the 1 run necessary to win that specific game. The fact that there are also plenty of people who are more than happy to dismiss what Pees said as an old man talking nonsense about a world that no longer exists are way too quick to dismiss the part he was mentioning about connecting with human beings. That is as skill that a lot of the current generation definitely lacks. Getting people to buy in and pull in the same direction is a skill unto itself and isn't reflected in the spreadsheets either. You hear it in Buffalo when McDermott talks about "culture" and "process". That's what they are talking about. And back in my day coaches didn't diss the guys with the spreadsheets because they just didn't hire them in the first place. They have a place. The data has a place. That place might not at the front of the organization depending on the person in question. There are tons of amazing analysts that would be terrible CEOs or Department VPs. There are a smaller number who are good at both things. If you have someone who is good at both, by all means, put them in charge. On the flip side if they are only great with the players and not good at the X and Os or data analysis piece they shouldn't be in charge either. They have a place in your organization, but it's not at the top.

Was that the David White interception game? First line of the Buffalo News story about that game. "One-dimensional football teams have a nasty habit of losing playoff games, and it happened again Saturday at Rich Stadium." Take heed... https://buffalonews.com/news/dolphins-came-to-pass-and-it-was-their-ticket-home/article_2cf42c71-00fd-5b81-8e51-4cebb9832235.html

I'm going to be in the car either way so whatever. Means I can stop at TreeHouse and not feel like I need to rush. -

That is interesting assuming he can pass block at all. He's on a 1 year 3 million dollar deal and will be a UFA after the season.

Luckily nobody got hurt. I remember that happening at the Vet a long time ago and people got hurt.

Really? He works very hard, he plays through pain, he's dependable and reliable, by all accounts he's an amazing teammate. So the fanbase that drinks shots out of bowling balls, douses a grown man in condiments, and jumps through flaming tables is going to condemn Rob Gronkowski for going to clubs and dating porn stars in the off season. Ok. If he was just Rob from Williamsville getting lit up pregame and accidentally setting himself on fire on Sunday then getting up in Monday and putting in a shift at the engine plant he'd look exactly the same. I know dozens of WNYers with the exact same meat to head ratio. The only thing not WNY about Gronkowski is that he wins in the end. If Gronkowski played in Buffalo he'd be the biggest cult hero possible. Let's also slow down with this stolen valor stuff. There are plenty of people who are eligible to get insurance from USAA, a private company mind you, that have never come close to serving. It's open to veterans and their families and if your parents joined you can also join so long as that chain stays unbroken your family can keep joining. So if Gronks grandfather served, and then his father joined USAA and never served, Rob could still join and so could his kids and their kids. It's not like he's wearing a uniform or claiming a rank. He's playing an idiot. He's making fun of himself and the company itself hired him to do it. But yeah, totally the same thing as stolen valor. Let's cheapen that concept to include making fun of oneself for the purposes of selling insurance. 🙄 -

It's a movie reference. Dazed and Confused. Affleck didn't break the paddle there though. That happened later after the freshmen dumped paint on him. -

Eric Washington is on the staff now and has some experience at DC. John Butler has done a nice job with the DBs but does not have DC experience. McDermott has history with Mike Caldwell who is currently with the Buccaneers. If they went outside the current organization I'd guess Caldwell but I will bet they stay in-house and go with Butler or Washington. -

It makes me giggle every time Sanchez even casually mentions fumbles or ball security. -

None. I went cold turkey on a vacation a couple years ago and never went back. I sleep so much better and I don't get random tachycardia anymore. The vacation was a week at a beach house and I only drank beer and water for the whole week. The beer dealt with the withdrawal headaches and the water dealt with the beer. It was a solid strategy IMHO and it worked. Now that I'm off it I have no desire to get back on nor any cravings for it like I'd have before. Going on four years now I think. -
The very north of PA would love to have you. Nobody lives there and the population is shrinking all the time. All of Potter County has less than 17k people and has a population density of 16 people per square mile. Erie County, NY is over 900/square mile I live in SEPA now and I generally like it. It's far enough north that it doesn't get blazing hot and it's far enough south and close enough to the ocean that it doesn't get super cold either. I'm in Southern Chester County about 45 miles from Philly and if you go a little further out towards Maryland it gets cheaper. There are lots of retirees in this part of PA and the tax structure is favorable for retirees. Southern Delaware is pretty cheap and is fairly close to the beach. It's very rural, lots and lots of farms and not a lot else but if that's what you are looking for then the weather is generally pretty good and the overall DE tax situation is generally more favorable than NY. But it's worse for retirees than PA and the state income tax is the highest in the country. Property taxes are low. I guess it depends on what you want and why you are leaving NY. I wouldn't live in Florida for free and the parts of GA and NC I'd want to live in aren't cheap. My wife's company is based in Toombs County, GA and it's also super rural. Houses I'd want to live in if we moved there aren't a whole lot cheaper than the houses in my current area. Taxes are considerably less but there is also a distinct difference in what you get from the area. Where we live now is moderately rural but there are enough people with enough money around that there are quite a lot of good restaurants to eat at and a lot of things to do. In that part of GA, the restaurant situation is bleak and there isn't even a decent grocery store, just the Wal-Mart. For quality of life that would be important to me. I like to have a good meal at a good restaurant or be able to cook a good meal at my house with good ingredients. I like to be able to choose from multiple kinds of food. I like to have the option to do a multitude of things in a relatively short drive from my house. From Toombs County, to get a decent meal, you need to drive to Savannah which is 90 minutes away. Where I live now I have all of that at my fingertips and I don't have to deal with a city unless I want to. For me, that's perfect. It's dark and quiet where I live, my kids go to a good school, my property taxes are tolerable, I can have a peaceful day every day if I want to or I can be anywhere from NY to Washington, I can be at the beach in either NJ, DE or MD, or I can be in the mountains all under 2.5 hours depending on which direction I choose to drive. We've talked about relocating several times and lord knows the company would like us to move to GA. While the taxes would be less, we'd have to pay for private school because those cheaper taxes very much come at the expense of the local school district and there are a host of other lifestyle and quality of life issues that would crop up if we moved there. All added together it's not worth it so we stay where we are and my wife works remotely and flies down there 5 or 6 weeks a year. I guess what I'm saying is the places in this country that are cheap are cheap for a reason. Find out what that reason is and make sure you can tolerate it before you commit yourself to living there.

Add this is how to defend rpo. Just whack the QB until they stop doing it. It won't take long.
