  1. Expanding a bit hes picked it apart in 3 of the last 4 with the 4th being the wind game. Now I understand why Daryl Johnson was traded.
  2. It’s the secret sauce to the picks don’t matter. Early picks don’t matter if you can nail the middle of the draft.
  3. Thanks for explaining the rule of 51. Let’s do the math with links below. Pick 25 has a cap hit of 2.6 million and that bumps the 700k contract of tim Harris. Total 1.9 million pick 57 has a cap hit of 1.17 million and that bumps the 825k contract of nick mccloud. Total 2.25 million pick 89 has a cap hit of 960k and that bumps mike loves 830k contract. Total 2.38 million pick 130 has a cap hit of 900k and that bumps tanner gentry’s 830k contract. Total 2.45 million. the remaining picks do not count against the 51 as you mention. so more than 2 million but not much more. This is why you don’t really hear there being much problem in signing draft classes because of cap space. Bills contracts https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ cap hits for draft picks https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/draft/ @ganesh @klos63
  4. 2 mill should be fine for the rooks. Though as you may have been trying to say it might not be enough considering the unknown contracts
  5. I was actually very high on him. One of the few threads I’ve started on here was post draft about him being a potential steal.
  6. You’re saying with your last sentence that you don’t see Milano making plays around him? Mentioned on cover 1 was that edmunds is a good compliment to Milano. Edmunds can clean up plays from Milano aggressiveness.
  7. Thanks. Didn’t know all the details from his camp. Would probably want the contract to have incentives about snaps played. This could be a way to reduce the cap hit now though the check for that comes later. I’m just happy to pay if he’s healthy as you say later.
  8. For hunter I agree. This is a player you go after as he’s proven and on a good contract. Need to continue to be calculating. The invoices will come due at some point but if you have done well you won a lot without hindering yourself too much. We agree that this is the player to do it for (again very similar to diggs).
  9. He’s already under contract for the next few seasons which is part of the value (like diggs funny enough) to me. NO is gonna go through some dark times for next few seasons cause of that manipulation. They should get several good shots at drafting a replacement for Brees.
  10. It’s a chandler jones thread. I’m tired of hearing edmunds talk in every thread. This isn’t even a released LB thread. Usually this starts with a post saying edmunds should be gone (see page 1 of this thread).
  11. McD has given more snaps to players that are good. Check his line numbers from Carolina. There were guys there over 70% of the snaps. He needs to be able to trust there won’t be a drop off. I think Ed gets this treatment next year.
  12. I think he mentioned that cut after the draft to have some more money going into the season.
  13. Edmunds did fine the first game against the chiefs (with out Milano). No tre is the difference between the first and second games. I think we play much better defense with tre on the field.
  14. With regards to his contract I think Klein was insurance against at least Milano signing a new contract. He was brought in for Mika is contract year and beane usually doesn’t guarantee money beyond the first year. Now that Milano is re-signed this was an inevitability as many have said.
  15. Really long post but here are cover 1s thoughts from a bit ago. Didn’t see it posted here. Haven’t seen a ton of discussion on the topic either. OMG I didn’t watch it all. Gonna finish it now.
  16. below is him saying his conditioning in the SEC title game was a problem. That seems to be a motivation problem. He’s in shape now. Great. That’s sorta like playing well in a contract year. Why was conditioning a problem at the end of the season? Up tempo is clearly something that he will see in the NFL. https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2022/01/georgias-340-pound-dl-jordan-davis-admits-conditioning-was-off-against-alabama.html?outputType=amp
  17. I think we’re in similar spots. I stated why I think he doesn’t seem disciplined. I’ll agree his ceiling is as high as anyones but I have said why I don’t think he’s disciplined. Thus as you say hes not what you want out of a first round pick. what if he’s very lazy and has been getting by based off his athleticism? to provide more evidence to my previous post. Others have mentioned joe Marino is down on him because of his discipline. This past season he said he wanted to win a championship (good for him getting it) and control his weight (he didn’t do that). He also said after the first bama game (sorry no link but again Marino show) that we wasn’t conditioned enough. So yeah the stats are not the end all be all but I didn’t say that. he had one of the worst pressure rates of all FBS DT, and I was trying to say his apparent lack of discipline PLUS the stats are why I’m a pass. If we draft I’ll root for him. If he turns into an all pro then I’ll eat crow.
  18. Heard he has had trouble with his weight and that he has a sweet tooth. Doesn’t sound very disciplined. Along with his near atrocious pass rushing he is a pass at 25 for me.
  19. Gabe Davis against jets? That was a bit short and after a deflection Davis caught it (there was also DPI)
  20. Clearly they said “get that picture of josh Allen leaping over someone”. The intern didn’t realize Josh is a QB that hurdles defenders regularly.
  21. Agree with your later post that said all pro is a super high bar. I think he has a ton of upside considering this is only his SECOND full year at the position. I thought he would be a liability in the run game but he was good. He needs to do more as a pass rusher. I think beane also mentioned he hit a rookie wall which makes sense considering he didn’t play the pandemic year and training was probably less rigorous. So in conclusion he came on better than I expected and I think he has a ton of upside (this was label for josh after one year). ps I didn’t like the other posts in responses to your question. Hope this is more rationale.
  22. So I think this is what did last years team miss to get us to the promised land of Lombardi. It’s easy then. Tre white. We win everything if we have him and have an argument that we could have won with out him. Anyone talking paper tigers or other needs for last year team is not grounded in what can realistically be done. Going forward is a big question. I think they have LB locked up (barring a surprising edmunds trade). Safeties is obviously a silly value for both their contracts. We need some help at CB while Tre is out but are pretty good when he’s back (Tre, Johnson, Dane, Neal, Lewis is a good set). that leaves us with replacing what we might lose this off-season on DL. Need someone to replace Jerry’s pressures. asking for more pressures from a UFA will cost a bit but I think we can get more out of Groot. And at DT we got a couple holes to fill. 13 seconds was awful but we were and are still really close.
  23. Sure but we also lack serious depth at DT. We at least have our starting 5 and all contributors returning (assuming they tendor Bates) except Boettger who probably doesn’t have a big market. Morse isn’t 30 and played a full season so talk of retirement is def just speculation. We can rework Williams deal and I thought the line played well with Bates so am ok if he’s the floor. at DT we got like nothing. FA could change this but at moment we have Ed, star, Ankou. Even if that position group performed well last year (about even with OL imo) we would need to restock. With the state of OL and the Kroger hiring I think a day 3 pick to develop would be fine for iOL.
  24. I get why people are going OL but it seems like one of our more complete position groups. Considering how many DL we use, how few we have under contract, and our history I won’t be surprised if we go that way again. Not that I’m super excited about how well we’ve done with that position group.
