  1. I think what youre missing is younger in regards to our big contracts. Yes we still have the same average maybe but the cuts had bigger contracts than the people we replaced them with. Also "hope to get the best out of them" seems like a terrible plan. I (and seemingly McBeane) would rather pay a bit more to get known quantities while were competing for a championship, that little bit of extra money will likely not move the needle for a difference maker. if we were rebuilding then sure throw a UDFA out there (Levi Wallace), but now that were contending you need to not play a UDFA (if we can help it) that can be exposed. Heck our 3rd rd LB got exposed by the giants and patriots and you wanna just hope for the best with a UDFA. We'll see about the draft but I think they will prioritize the trenches.
  2. Agree with your breakdown and how they have used that package. I hope it remains obvious passing downs or that KC don’t play hurry up after a long 3rd down conversion cause Poyer in the box against a Pacheco rush is gonna be tough for us.
  3. Did that change when Bernard went out against Pitt? I dont think it did. I expect Poyer to still play in the box on obvious passing downs but on 1st downs would still expect the nickel package. Was really happy they stuck with dime in passing downs when Taron went out (Hamlin became the dime DB as Cam Lewis moved to NCB).
  4. Was today a walkthrough? Arent walk throughs projections if it was a full practice? Happy days has been on point so im gonna continue to trust.
  5. I think its very difficult to fix in season (not necessarily impossible) and thats why you saw so much trouble with it early. But we have seen pre snap motion and play action rates increase the last few weeks. I see plenty of schemed open folks and honestly think Brady is getting into his bag at just the right time. Heck Kincaid was schemed open for two TDs this past week. Isabella had one drawn up for him. Watch the all-22 with how they use Cook to uncover the middle of the field. That stuff is there.
  6. This week i think the lull was literally us trying not to make mistakes. The third down check down short of the sticks with a big lead caught my eye. As soon as they got to less than 14 points what happened. The cut it to 11; we march down the field for a FG. They cut it to 7 and we march down for a TD. I agree that their were lulls in the win streak that were concerning, but this offense looks to be picking up a lot of momentum going from Pats > Miami > Steelers.
  7. What did you need to see last week? 70% completion rate. Targets to everyone. No turnovers. Counter to you broken play comment, josh average getting the ball out in less than 2.5 seconds per Joe Marino. Guys have been schemed open a lot. Just cause you aint seeing it dont mean it aint happening. Andy Isabella had a big one schemed for him that didnt hit cause Josh missed the pass. Remember the Kincaid sail route against miami. That happens cause Brady schemes it up with Diggs coming across the formation. Heck the Kincaid shot call was per Josh Allen a game plan call (they schemed it up in the week) where they sent 3 verticals against 2 safeties cause they knew the look they would get. You present no evidence and just your feels. Sheesh.
  8. Even if Davis were back I agree it would/should be a Kincaid/shakir game. But I think he could have a role if he were healthy. The CBs they have are great partly cause they are so physical. Gabe has shown he can play that style and would be a good known quantity if shakir struggles with it. thanks for the updates btw
  9. If Martin is out for the rest of the playoffs (which feels right), would you consider IR cause we only get 2 PS callups. With LB and CB depth stretched (WR a bit too) would we wanna save the call ups for those? If martin is back after a week this doesnt matter. I hear McD has him as his emergency contact too.
  10. If a player is out of bounds they shouldnt be allowed to play the ball until they reestablish in bounds. Throw the illegal touching flag and replay the down. its not as good as a turnover but if a player goes out of bounds and then touches the ball that seems pretty clear to me (particularly for the stupid make a kickoff out of bounds call). Crucially this is different than almost all catches when a player is inbounds but doesnt stay inbounds after making first contact.
  11. Taron will have to set a new PR for getting out of CP but he has been quick before Benford is a torn meniscus. May just be pain management mcgovern went back in the game I think and seems fine? He’s out
  12. Josh left the field in the 4th quarter with a lead and less than 2 minutes in 3 of our 6 losses. Wins are a team stat period. Thats why he has less wins. The ravens have a better team; their receivers get more open, more defensive EPA. Josh has contributed more and it shows in the numbers. Jackson is great but he gets a ton of support from the team that Josh doesnt.
  13. Lol i like him as rubbery as gumby. not sure how he has escaped super serious injuries these past few games (Pats and now this) but let him be loose.
  14. can't find this replay but yeah this is what i thought happened and then josh air mailed it.
  15. lol was a joke. it was Ed but if Von sacks him theres no RTP.
  16. So do i blame Von for the RTP that happened? Cut him!
  17. Successful challenges are not held against us. Thats why we could challenge the second one, was cause the first one was correct. But you dont get a third unless your first two are successful. I do agree though, them messing calls up causing us to use challenge in the first instance still hurt us for the whole game. If they get the first fumble correct we still have challenges in the second half if we dont get the second challenge still (though it seemed like a recovery to me).
  18. QB and best player on the best team (1 seed in harder conference and pummeled the 1 seed in the other conference, both could rest week 18). All of that is team stuff to me. Lol allen being the only player with 40 TDs and being the only non winner (i need to check that) cause hes done 4 times!!!!!
  19. 100% agree its hugely important to W/L which is often why its assigned to QB. It does matter more than any other position, but it is still a team stat. So winning MVP because youre team is really good (49ers, Ravens) and youre the QB doesnt seem correct. Look at the QB specific numbers at least. Give me 4th quarter comebacks (of which josh has 8 this year, but the defense let 4 become L's) which is also a bit of a team thing but is definitely more QB focused cause it takes away defense and special teams (besides the GW FG).
  20. Be careful, steelers fans think the refs screwed them. They are pointing to "fake" Josh slide, late hit, and DPI on 4th down as their examples. I think they didnt get a TO off Josh like they all thought would happen, so they should just accept they lost.
  21. See my comment above. If you think QB W/L record is a QB stat, which implies to me that you think it defines how good a QB is playing, then you mustve thought Stafford got a so much better when he went to the Rams. Just a crazy career resurgence to go from 5-11 to 12-5 means he must have completely changed his game around (this is sarcasm he was pretty much the same player he was the previous 12 years). PFR might not give you the W/L record for every position but you can do the same exercise. Did you see that steelers were 1-11 without watt coming into this game? Its just that analysis.
  22. I dont have PFF but i believe his turnover worthy throw rate is down a good bit. hes just gotten super unlucky on tipped balls and other weird things (taking away drops he is also the most efficient which is crazy). Overall, yeah hes getting screwed by the "narrative." By this logic you think Stafford became a much better QB when we went to LAR. Cause his W/L record is so much better than when he was in Det. So as W/L is a QB stat as said he mustve really regressed just before he was traded. Or maybe hes always been good and the team around him was garbage a few of those years so QB W/L record is not a good stat.
  23. 10 attempts and 8 yards. Even von runs past him I am ok him trying to beat us with his legs
