  1. Would be so happy with legette at 28. Such a good fit for what we need. Love how variable his assessment is
  2. Don't want us spending a pick even. Wow. you know we have 10 picks right? You think there are 10 more pressing needs than a room that ONLY has 2 players in it (both with similar skill sets). Theres snaps to be had at this position. I expect a pick, UDFA, and probably a FA signing as well. Need bodies.
  3. I dont think so. Draft charts I'm looking at have #17 as 950 and our #28 as 660. Our highest fourth this year #128 is worth 44. Rule of thumb is subtract around for future picks so the best next years second could be valued at is 265. Thats just enough to get it done but pick 91 (what wouldve been our third) is only worth 135 which would be well short of whats needed. I suspect Jax would value our 2nd more like pick 91 though maybe vikings 2nd we have now could get it done. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=buf
  4. Would you be ok with him round 4? I think no. I would be happy with him there but round 3 does feel a bit much.
  5. Yeah realized that a bit late. Point still stands about why not include the 4th round for this discussion. I think its more likely we pick one in the 4th than 6th or 7th.
  6. Agreed they have found talent but those were players were werent really expecting to play. This year feels more like the year we drafted Moss. We needed a RB that year similar to how we need one this year. I'm sorta expecting us (hard to expect anything in the draft) to pick one in the 4th. It feels like a position that has snaps available versus possible upgrades or depth (CB, S, LG, DE, DT). As you mentioned a vet FA could do that but i think a draft pick makes more sense for our cap situation.
  7. Why limit the convo to day 3? Considering we have a huge need at RB (only 2 on the team right now) we will be drafting one. I dont think the value is there in the first two rounds but would definitely be happy to have a reliable short yardage and pass pro RB in the 4th. Do you think all our other needs are greater than RB that we shouldnt consider RB in the 4th?
  8. I guess a min deal for those players would be good but i like the idea of upside that you could get with a rookie. Considering we only have two RBs on the team right now(!) I think its gonna be both draft and a free agent signing. We need bodies for camp and the season. I would hope the rookie would be the plan to play with the vet setting the floor of play for the position (especially around pass pro). If thats the plan I think you dont wait til the 5th for a player that you expect to play (not that you cant find good talent just seems crazy to expect them to play right away).
  9. Surprised at how little talk there has been about RB. There are carries to be had in this offense and snaps to play as a pass blocker. I think we are taking one with a 4th and that player will get a fair bit of run (assuming they are more physical than Cook and Johnson).
  10. So it makes sense to trade someone in the first year of their extension and take a cap hit thats really hard to eat. Im still confused how this happens with the cap. who are we cutting?
  11. Agree on importance of coaching being directly correlated with number of players. But would also posit that coaching importance is also directly correlated with number of stoppages in the sport. Football has a lot which allows lots of opportunity for direction. If you can give better direction you will have an advantage.
  12. I think its 4th or 5th rounds. Trade back to get a 3rd seems more likely than ever. Then bundle picks to maximize number of picks in the top 100. we could get good talent at multiple positions that could use an investment (WR, T, iOL, DT, DE, CB, S). DE is really the tricky one cause it sorta needs a first round pick to have a good shot at providing impact. Commanders 40 and 78 for 28 and 144 seems pretty good for me. Then we could have 40, 60, 78 with 128 and 133 as opportunities to move up if you bundle late picks.
  13. Could be a good way to better understand the system and thus what is asked of Troy Franklin?
  14. I think what youre missing is younger in regards to our big contracts. Yes we still have the same average maybe but the cuts had bigger contracts than the people we replaced them with. Also "hope to get the best out of them" seems like a terrible plan. I (and seemingly McBeane) would rather pay a bit more to get known quantities while were competing for a championship, that little bit of extra money will likely not move the needle for a difference maker. if we were rebuilding then sure throw a UDFA out there (Levi Wallace), but now that were contending you need to not play a UDFA (if we can help it) that can be exposed. Heck our 3rd rd LB got exposed by the giants and patriots and you wanna just hope for the best with a UDFA. We'll see about the draft but I think they will prioritize the trenches.
  15. Agree with your breakdown and how they have used that package. I hope it remains obvious passing downs or that KC don’t play hurry up after a long 3rd down conversion cause Poyer in the box against a Pacheco rush is gonna be tough for us.
  16. Did that change when Bernard went out against Pitt? I dont think it did. I expect Poyer to still play in the box on obvious passing downs but on 1st downs would still expect the nickel package. Was really happy they stuck with dime in passing downs when Taron went out (Hamlin became the dime DB as Cam Lewis moved to NCB).
  17. Was today a walkthrough? Arent walk throughs projections if it was a full practice? Happy days has been on point so im gonna continue to trust.
  18. I think its very difficult to fix in season (not necessarily impossible) and thats why you saw so much trouble with it early. But we have seen pre snap motion and play action rates increase the last few weeks. I see plenty of schemed open folks and honestly think Brady is getting into his bag at just the right time. Heck Kincaid was schemed open for two TDs this past week. Isabella had one drawn up for him. Watch the all-22 with how they use Cook to uncover the middle of the field. That stuff is there.
  19. This week i think the lull was literally us trying not to make mistakes. The third down check down short of the sticks with a big lead caught my eye. As soon as they got to less than 14 points what happened. The cut it to 11; we march down the field for a FG. They cut it to 7 and we march down for a TD. I agree that their were lulls in the win streak that were concerning, but this offense looks to be picking up a lot of momentum going from Pats > Miami > Steelers.
  20. What did you need to see last week? 70% completion rate. Targets to everyone. No turnovers. Counter to you broken play comment, josh average getting the ball out in less than 2.5 seconds per Joe Marino. Guys have been schemed open a lot. Just cause you aint seeing it dont mean it aint happening. Andy Isabella had a big one schemed for him that didnt hit cause Josh missed the pass. Remember the Kincaid sail route against miami. That happens cause Brady schemes it up with Diggs coming across the formation. Heck the Kincaid shot call was per Josh Allen a game plan call (they schemed it up in the week) where they sent 3 verticals against 2 safeties cause they knew the look they would get. You present no evidence and just your feels. Sheesh.
  21. Even if Davis were back I agree it would/should be a Kincaid/shakir game. But I think he could have a role if he were healthy. The CBs they have are great partly cause they are so physical. Gabe has shown he can play that style and would be a good known quantity if shakir struggles with it. thanks for the updates btw
  22. If Martin is out for the rest of the playoffs (which feels right), would you consider IR cause we only get 2 PS callups. With LB and CB depth stretched (WR a bit too) would we wanna save the call ups for those? If martin is back after a week this doesnt matter. I hear McD has him as his emergency contact too.
  23. If a player is out of bounds they shouldnt be allowed to play the ball until they reestablish in bounds. Throw the illegal touching flag and replay the down. its not as good as a turnover but if a player goes out of bounds and then touches the ball that seems pretty clear to me (particularly for the stupid make a kickoff out of bounds call). Crucially this is different than almost all catches when a player is inbounds but doesnt stay inbounds after making first contact.
  24. Taron will have to set a new PR for getting out of CP but he has been quick before Benford is a torn meniscus. May just be pain management mcgovern went back in the game I think and seems fine? He’s out
  25. Josh left the field in the 4th quarter with a lead and less than 2 minutes in 3 of our 6 losses. Wins are a team stat period. Thats why he has less wins. The ravens have a better team; their receivers get more open, more defensive EPA. Josh has contributed more and it shows in the numbers. Jackson is great but he gets a ton of support from the team that Josh doesnt.
