Wont the comp pick for him be better than a 6th? If hes not a good locker room guy you still should get a better comp pick than this (maybe they want to sign a bunch of UFA but still).

I did have to look it up, but remembered we had a crazy good week last year at one point. It still confuses me how we went from 6-6 and 10th to the 2 seed. Like in my head i said it could happen but wasnt really sure it truely could. After Miami blew it to the titans i did know the division was comically open. i say comically cause i had a maniacal laugh for the rest of the season.

Week 14 last year was pretty good. We were 6-6 and 10th place in conference. We got losses from number 1 miami (against titans lolololol), number 3 KC (by our hand), number 4 Jags (by the number 7 team), Number 5 Steelers (by the Pats!), Number 6 Colts, Number 8 Texans (by the Jets!). Only teams ahead of us that didnt lose were the Number 2 Ravens, Number 7 Browns (who more importantly took care of the Number 4 Jags), and Number 9 Broncos. That was a lot going our way that day. All had to probably happen to get 2 seed.

Couldn’t happen before 17 game season but since then I think it’s pretty likely anytime the 4 teams were division winners.

Not a contract year. he is signed through next year with the 5th year option. i hope we can get it done this offseason before he gets more expensive after next year. Also noted in this thread is that hes only 24, but he also has only been playing DE like 5 seasons (lost 6th season cause of COVID year). Hes putting on mass every year and getting better at using his body every year.

Terrible is cook, Torrence, Epenesa? It started rough but those three should pull it to below average. 1st rounder Oliver Kincaid Rousseau is solid (are you expecting pro bowl from every 1st rounder?). Elam being your worst 1st rounder (consider these are almost all late firsts too) is not that bad.

Agree. On the upside there was a bit of skepticism on the brown pick and I think that has worked out. Interestingly they have similar contract extensions but brown is at the more premium spot. We may consider him better value if he continues to maul people and propel this offense like Humphrey does. Imagine that line (Dawkins, anyone, Humphrey, Torrence, Brown with Kromer). I’m getting a bit more upset now that I write it like that cause those other 3 were Bills picks (beane didn’t do Dawkins obviously)

That’s insane per target and per reception numbers (how do those stack up league wide?). And people say they don’t see WR1 traits for him. This is a small sample set (so maybe not representative) and it’s limited to what he does best. But wow does he crush it. He's too much for smaller DBs. If he figures out more parts of his game (why McD is grinding him so hard, to get that work in), he could be something very special.

I thought Taron got low but since first contact by TE was with helmet on tarons back then it should’ve been a no call. Taron has nowhere to maneuver and didn’t chop the blockers knees. I think this can happen quickly as Cooper gets acclimated. I expect him to start as the lone WR in sets with 3 skills players to one side, and he wont have to time his routes off others (rubs and crosses are such a big part of Brady's offense). This type of formation has drawn middle of the field closed coverage and gets an opportunity outside the numbers (Bills WR havent really shown an ability to take advantage). I hope he can take advantage of these looks against the titans. But then as he quickly works in the offense you put him on the Trips side and then give Coleman the lone receiver role and let him get buckets, which he has shown a couple times the last two games). Agree simple routes. But to me thats lone receiver routes as described above. Ask the defense if you wanna give help coverage on him and if not let him get the ball. Simple play. But if you start to help there then we just run all over you. The "complex" routes in this offense seem to be the rubs and crosses with other receivers. He knows the routes but how to run them with the other WR could be hard so just give him all the space to eat.

Kyle Williams? Not as much of a premium position but he def played better (all pro and many pro bowls) for longer

So happy that they are looking to make a move. But its gotta be done carefully or else we just spin our wheels and get cap hit. The how do you onboard this person is interesting to me. I wonder if we would consider putting him on PS then do call ups as a real life tryout. Could even let bass come back after a few games to give him a final shot (having Bass work out is still the most favorable option that you need to give it every opportunity).

This is a reset year and we seem ahead of schedule. Is it perfect no, but there is something to the everything eats model (though concerns obviously when we NEED to pass). I expect them to continue to improve and go on one of the patented december runs (crazy our only two DEC losses since 2020 are the hurricane bowl and the almost comeback against TB the next game). Jets turned it into a hail mary on the fly. I think theres some merit to if youre rushing only 2 then why not more coverage players (Epenesa playing the flat aint doing anything for me), but that play is 100% on the players.
