  1. Logging in to say grateful for your efforts!
  2. You set your bar, I’ll set mine. You may not differentiate. I do. Allen and the Bills beating Mahomes and the Chiefs means more to me than Allen beating Wentz. That was the question in the OP asked. Context, history, myth and legend. I have grandchildren who’ve heard Marino and Elway, Bradshaw and Staubach. My grandfather goes to Starr and Unitas. Elway, Kosar. Marino, Kelly. Brady, Manning. I prefer an opportunity for romance, myth and legacy to a win over Carson Wentz. “A win is a win” is a perfectly fine way to look at competition. So is “no two wins are the same.” I don’t understand the need to challenge or contradict.
  3. Wanting your partners and your competitors to be at their best is an approach to life. It’s grounded in confidence and accountability. It’s served me well. For your consideration - there is a satisfaction level associated with winning when your opponent is at his best that’s not present when you win against the wounded. Nothing is more gratifying or humbling. To my opponents - bring it.
  4. Call me nuts. I want them at their best. Us, too, of course. No asterisks. A de-throning.
  5. Here’s my view on Miami, and I say this with insight provided by a lifelong Dolphin fan I’m close to in addition to my 60 year experience with the rivalry. The Dolphins are a poorly constructed team, on the GM. The Dolphins are an undisciplined, predictable, unadvisedly aggressive team, on the coach. Tua is a narrow, skill set limited, QB who the team will over pay until and unless he goes down tragically. Miami is a world class city and a terrible football town. I came of age during the 0-20 decade. I miss their excellence.
  6. I generally support pump the brakes posts. However, the Dolphins are less talented than almost everyone gave them credit for.
  7. Luciano Pavarotti sang at the Met because he is tenor touched by God, not because the Met needed him to sing. Allen runs because he’s a lumberjack who accelerates and changes direction, not because the Bills need him to run. Without the gifts, no need is strong enough to summon Pavarotti or Allen to their respective stages. You’re looking through the wrong end of the telescope.
  8. Another way to interpret what he said. The NFL is policing its product because its primary client, the entire nation, has its panties in a knot. In short, he’s referring not to the seller, but to the buyer, in that mutually dependent relationship. Me? I get why the NFL does it, but I lament the fact that I live in a world where it believes it has to.
  9. Outstanding typo. With a “gunner” being the common denominator.
  10. Hell … Dante’s 10th Circle for Bills fans.
  11. 1. Cuba • Chomsky has acknowledged Cuba’s healthcare and education systems, particularly their focus on universal access and high standards, as successes. • He has also praised Cuba’s solidarity in sending medical aid to other countries during crises. 2. Scandinavia (Nordic countries) • Chomsky has often cited Scandinavian countries (e.g., Norway, Sweden, Denmark) for their strong social welfare systems, emphasis on equality, and successful implementation of progressive policies. • He sees these nations as examples of functional social democracies with a focus on public welfare. 3. Costa Rica • He has highlighted Costa Rica for abolishing its military in 1948 and redirecting those resources toward education and healthcare. • Chomsky sees this as a rare example of a peaceful and forward-thinking policy decision. 4. Bolivia (under Evo Morales) • Chomsky expressed support for Bolivia’s efforts to empower indigenous populations and redistribute wealth under Evo Morales. • He saw this as an example of addressing historic inequalities and prioritizing social justice. 5. Vietnam • He has praised Vietnam for its resilience and determination during the Vietnam War, resisting overwhelming U.S. military force. • Post-war, Chomsky has mentioned Vietnam’s strides in economic recovery despite immense devastation.
  12. I actually read the article. I posted it in its entirety. I’ll settle for a snarky co-#1.
  13. You may be closer to the topic than the reporter.
  14. https://www.kcur.org/history/2024-03-22/missouri-meth-capital-america-drugs-lab-busts Missouri, the Meth Capital of America.
  15. No, and again, I’m rejecting irrefutable proof as a standard for analysis. I’m a man of limited capacity and can’t be more clear. Best wishes ….
  16. I pointed out you dismissed a view or conclusion because it lacked irrefutable evidence. I didn’t address any conclusion you made about outcomes. I rejected your standard.
  17. I am awarding the gloriously rare Spiro T. Agnew award to this post. Had you used “nattering,” I would award a Spectacular Lifetime Achievement Award.
  18. Why must we call every analysis and opinion an excuse? If you’re going to require irrefutable evidence a prerequisite to having views or drawing conclusions, you can shut down message boards. By the way, there’s no irrefutable evidence we would not have won last year. Your standard applied to your post.
  19. To the learned …. has anyone read anything about the new stadium, its design, and noise? Lungs and enthusiasm matter. So does architecture. Any design notes?
  20. I’m no coach, but I was thinking throw some intermediate route and hope for a defensive penalty. OR, Hail Mary and hope for same. I was not thinking franchise record kick from Bass.
  21. I am willing to cut Bass and let Mack Hollins kick. Or Reggie Gilliam.
  22. He seems to spike it a lot against the Dolphins, as well.
  23. We all have to forgive. “C’mon, son, I’ll teach you how to beat the crowd.” I was there, upper deck, and 20 years old.
  24. Not a bad rebuild re-tool start. Precision award.
