  1. Andre Reed and Eric Moulds say “hold my beer”. After that, Diggs is in the argument.
  2. You’re missing a market. It would be a subsidy if the Bills couldn’t move. “You’re not allowed to go anywhere, but we’ll subsidize you with tax payer money.” It is a market because the Bills are able to move. “We’ll give you tax payer money to stay, knowing you don’t have to.” Municipalities without franchises are together part of the market. There are more than 32 cities that would like an NFL franchise. The “municipality” of NY State and Erie County “bought” thirty years of affiliation with NFL football in return for a construction and maintenance contribution. They paid fair market value. The Buffalo Bills most certainly are playing in a free market economy. They’re playing in one of the best of all. There is one thing that’s interesting to me in this supply / demand, hero / villain, tome. It’s the business strategy. By leaking section by section, highest to lowest, both valuation AND game theory come into play. This is a reverse auction disguised as a sale. Start with the highest price and bidders pass at their peril. Passers know they’re out of the current round but don’t know the offering (availability/location/cost) in the next round. ”Thank you for inviting me. I am unwilling to pay $100 thousand for my two seats as mapped into the new stadium. Can you tell me what will be available to me next, and at what price?” ”No, but thank you for coming, today. We’ll put you into a pool with others, not telling you how many, and offer you something later, not telling you what, for a price, not telling you how much.” I can assure you the sales team was briefed, trained and scripted on strategy and tactics. This, of course, happens everywhere and isn’t at all nefarious. The stakes are simply very high for passionate buyers.
  3. Josh could be better. Anyone could be better. The media talking about a top five guy getting better in Buffalo is missing a more important conversation. Twenty one other starters and a coaching staff improving even marginally could make Allen among the best of all time. It’s like Da Vinci being told Mona could’ve smiled a little bit while he’s sitting next to me in my middle school art class.
  4. I always went with the first, as well. I heard the second on a video last weekend. Thank you for your service .
  5. Eloi, Eloi, Lama “Sa BACH tah ni”, or; Eloi, Eloi, Lama “Sabacht - ahni”? I hear both.
  6. We’d need more server space. We generate 48 pages of commentary after reading Tweets.
  7. My heart sings. My ignorance of injuries, value, and risk didn’t allow me to anticipate this. What great fortune … the doctor, the relationship, the team, the assessment, the commitment. Tre! Well done and best wishes. Were only they all like you.
  8. Can you imagine if Rodgers got hurt in a game against a quality team in a national spotlight game and he had to come off the bench and win it ?! Wait, strike that.
  9. Soon, the NFL will have few stadiums, like destination amusement parks, casinos and resorts, where all teams play. You and I will watch on 105 inch high def televisions in our home. It makes little sense to have 32 $2 billion stadiums for 8 games a year. it’s coming. This stadium won’t be relevant for thirty years. Nothing is, anymore.
  10. I was worried about QB. I’m glad we’re better than 16th /17th best. I look forward to the Allen / Trubisky camp competition. Maybe Trubisky pushes Allen to top quartile.
  11. More importantly, I hope most realize the two topics are mutually exclusive and not things you can compare one against the other on some same scale. I think the criticism of Diggs is that he’s a pain in the a** teammate with gaps in production at important times during the season. The production decline is no longer a cloak for the pain in the a** status. The criticism of Tyreek, a top producer well regarded by teammates, relates to bad behavior, character and accusations of domestic violence. If you want to say one is worse than the other, I”ll strongly agree with you assuming you pick the right one. If you want to say they’re comparable, and one conversation should inform the other, I’ll disagree.
  12. I was an occasional lurker in 2014. Anybody else remember the 17 month debate over whether or not we traded one or two first round picks for Watkins? ”We traded two first round picks!” ”Wrong, we traded one and switched the other one!” ”No, we sent this year’s first AND next year’s, that’s two.” ”But we only gave up one!” ”No, TWO. Link!!” ”
  13. How about the food they serve? Should the NFL consider empty calories and fat? Oh, and parking and carbon footprints. BOOZE. The NFL should consider booze. CONCRETE stairways on RAINY DAYS! NFL should consider rain. I have another approach. We’re all adults and can make our own decisions. If we’re functioning adults, we HAVE to make our own decisions. I am aware of no NFL Office of Weather Related Injuries that brings expertise to the conversation unique to them. IF they have some unique information, unknown to mankind in general, I’m with you. NFL should share that. Otherwise, I’m good with the 67,493 decisions I have to make all by myself everyday.
  14. Tre is the type of player I gravitate to. Great player. Good guy. Effective (football is business) and fun (football is entertainment). My favorite Tre moment …
  15. I don’t want to join a chorus criticizing the timeliness of the original post, but man this is funny. Especially so to an older dude like me.
  16. I will never begrudge an NFL HC or GM for earning the big bucks. Assembling 80 +/- of these personalities and backgrounds and distilling them down to a cohesive 53 that plays at the world’s highest level as one team …. man, that’s some Big Voodoo right there. My job is part HC, part GM for high level team in sales and service. It’s brutal, in my mind. I manage half that number of people with significantly less diverse backgrounds and at a level that while high, isn’t NFL stand alone top of the world class. In short, hats off to the people who create common ground among such uncommon people.
  17. I believe he said, with remarkable clarity, that he’s not siding with any party while some facts are unknown. You may have missed it twice.
  18. Old Fashioned and a shrimp cocktail. Next night, Harry and Izzy’s.
  19. I have mine. It’s used, and therefore more valuable to me than any other sports memorabilia I own. I stayed to the end, too. Magical. I used my boss’s tickets!
  20. PS: We may have gone to school together if you saw the post title and had the following come to mind.
  21. There are times when the pressure to write something is greater than the anything that becomes the topic.
