  1. 1. Cuba • Chomsky has acknowledged Cuba’s healthcare and education systems, particularly their focus on universal access and high standards, as successes. • He has also praised Cuba’s solidarity in sending medical aid to other countries during crises. 2. Scandinavia (Nordic countries) • Chomsky has often cited Scandinavian countries (e.g., Norway, Sweden, Denmark) for their strong social welfare systems, emphasis on equality, and successful implementation of progressive policies. • He sees these nations as examples of functional social democracies with a focus on public welfare. 3. Costa Rica • He has highlighted Costa Rica for abolishing its military in 1948 and redirecting those resources toward education and healthcare. • Chomsky sees this as a rare example of a peaceful and forward-thinking policy decision. 4. Bolivia (under Evo Morales) • Chomsky expressed support for Bolivia’s efforts to empower indigenous populations and redistribute wealth under Evo Morales. • He saw this as an example of addressing historic inequalities and prioritizing social justice. 5. Vietnam • He has praised Vietnam for its resilience and determination during the Vietnam War, resisting overwhelming U.S. military force. • Post-war, Chomsky has mentioned Vietnam’s strides in economic recovery despite immense devastation.
  2. I actually read the article. I posted it in its entirety. I’ll settle for a snarky co-#1.
  3. You may be closer to the topic than the reporter.
  4. https://www.kcur.org/history/2024-03-22/missouri-meth-capital-america-drugs-lab-busts Missouri, the Meth Capital of America.
  5. No, and again, I’m rejecting irrefutable proof as a standard for analysis. I’m a man of limited capacity and can’t be more clear. Best wishes ….
  6. I pointed out you dismissed a view or conclusion because it lacked irrefutable evidence. I didn’t address any conclusion you made about outcomes. I rejected your standard.
  7. I am awarding the gloriously rare Spiro T. Agnew award to this post. Had you used “nattering,” I would award a Spectacular Lifetime Achievement Award.
  8. Why must we call every analysis and opinion an excuse? If you’re going to require irrefutable evidence a prerequisite to having views or drawing conclusions, you can shut down message boards. By the way, there’s no irrefutable evidence we would not have won last year. Your standard applied to your post.
  9. To the learned …. has anyone read anything about the new stadium, its design, and noise? Lungs and enthusiasm matter. So does architecture. Any design notes?
  10. I’m no coach, but I was thinking throw some intermediate route and hope for a defensive penalty. OR, Hail Mary and hope for same. I was not thinking franchise record kick from Bass.
  11. I am willing to cut Bass and let Mack Hollins kick. Or Reggie Gilliam.
  12. He seems to spike it a lot against the Dolphins, as well.
  13. We all have to forgive. “C’mon, son, I’ll teach you how to beat the crowd.” I was there, upper deck, and 20 years old.
  14. Not a bad rebuild re-tool start. Precision award.
  15. LOL at nine pages. Good thing the league improved its product with this nincompoopery. Make a call on the field and play on.
  16. I’ll be brief. Greatness is so contextual. We are fans and we go back and forth between teams and individuals. Fun, no doubt. Mahomes and Reid are individually great and paired superb. Obvious, and not terribly interesting to me, because it’s obvious. Interesting to me? Marino and Shula. We hear “among the greats of all time” about each in the role pairing most critical: coach and QB. Marino and Shula. Who failed, who carried who, and who’s not truly among the greatest? I have my view.
  17. I would have given him this award just for the inconspicuous “post” route signal to Cooper.
  18. Thank heavens we spend 7 minutes watching, and days posting, about instant replay review. Sure makes the product better. Just have the ref make the call and move on. Half of the fan base would be happy, half would be mad, just like today and the game experience would be so much better.
  19. For all of the “instant replay makes the game better” fans, I offer you that ….
  20. “Get cute, make bad decisions” In all honestly, it shows lack of concern about our offense.
  21. Looks like the Titans stole the Bills playbook at halftime.
  22. Forgive me. I’m watching in a bar / restauarant listening to the “sound” from a Lions / Vikings game. Has Cooper been benched since his drop?
  23. Brady’s playbook was upside down. Pass on first down, pass on second down, run on third play.
