Just an example of how consistently explosive Franklin was on top of his huge yardage. He had a 30+ yard reception in 12 of 13 games. That 13th game he was hurt in the second quarter and gutted out the rest of that Pac12 championship game. Nabers and Odunze were tied for second at 10 games a piece. He also had 7 games with a 40+ yard receptions which was more than Nabers and tied with Odunze in 2 less games. Aka he’s a beast

supposedly sick at or just before, I’ll take his great season over the combine performance

Troy Franklin (WR4 imo) has a private workout with the Bills, per Tony Pauline: https://www.sportskeeda.com/nfl/news-insider-notes-2024-ucla-wisconsin-oregon-pro-day-braelon-allen-missing-troy-franklin-shines

I really wanted to add him in 2021 before he signed with Washington. He really balled out his last season in Carolina, leading the league in reception percentage that year and being a beast on third down. I’m excited they gave Joe Brady someone he had a lot of success with who will be good on those quick screens. My fear is that the Bills will see this as being good enough at the WR position and forego it early in the draft. We are one of two teams - the other being the Bucs who had Mike Evans and Godwin - who have not drafted a WR in the first three rounds in the past 5 years. I still really hope we draft a WR at 28. Whether the rook is WR2 and Samuel is WR 3 or 4 or vice versa this year, our WR room as a whole will be much more talented and prepared for next year when Diggs will likely be gone. So in short, love we got Josh this weapon and let’s keep it going in the draft Beane!!!!

Goes by Bub so that’s a positive right there. From the very little amount I can find of him on YouTube…day 3 X receiver. Not quick in the short and intermediate but once he picks up speed he can outrace corners deep so his forty time and below average 10 yard split makes sense on tape. Was not done many favors by his QB this year. See him as a player that if you miss out on the first two tiers of X receivers early, you can target late as someone who has the measurables to develop into that role for you.

Yea as a person who rostered Davante Adam’s on my fantasy team in 2022, I hated the sniper Mack Hollins lol he had a good year
-
According to DCOranges spreadsheet Anthony Gould actually has the highest YPRR vs man in this years draft class. But Legette is second and weighs almost 50 pounds more than Gould. He was very good this year, had a nice pro day today too from reports.

Yea I haven’t been that excited about bringing DQ back either, but we do just need players under contract at the position this year. Not sure anyone in our price range would be a difference maker more than DQ. Who we select in the draft at the position will be the more crucial to advancing the talent level of the DLine

Nice, he was playing well up until he injured his ribs late last year. 6.5 sacks, 2 picks, and 8 passes defended is pretty good for a guy who only played 36% of defensive snaps

Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY
LEBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
lol Dion knows we all on edge -
From 2022-2024, each year only 2 third round comp picks have been awarded based on free agent salary. All other third round picks in that timeframe have been awarded for minority HC/Executive hirings. Kind of looks like rather than third round comp picks being awarded to the top 5% of FA contracts like we were used to, they now cap it at the top 2 with the remainder being filled by the coaching comp picks. This is just a guess, maybe it will be different next year but it’s the third year in a row.

looks like we are about $4 mill over not counting the Rapp, Mitch, and Haack signings. Josh will be restructured, maybe Ed too which should get us below the cap with some space. A cut or extension of Taron, or an extension of Dawkins may be on the table as the major moves left if we want to do more spending

Nah he only earned one all pro, bust! /s

yes, Tre is a likely the next cut as doing it before 3/18 saves us an additional 1.5 million (6 million total toward the cap instead of 4.5 after 3/18) others to watch out for are Taron who if cut would save 7.5 million (though maybe they extend him instead). Gilliam would save about $1.9 million and Sam Martin about $1.3 million. Good thing we have all those draft picks this year!
-
Agreed but I think the Bills will want to keep him around rather than release him for the $7+ million cap savings. He did play better the second half of the year so it’s one of there better options if they need more space.
-
These were the easy decisions. Tre and his 6 million savings will be next, Harty and his 4.1 million savings too, maybe Morse and his 8.5 million worth of savings or a Taron and/or Dion extension too
-
This is right. The USC guys especially Rice because Caleb Williams went off script soooo often.
-
500k deadcap, 4.66 mil savings. No brainer.

Baker is so interesting. Metrics wise he is good against man and zone coverage. His jump ball ability is really good as he can jump well off both the left or right foot - Brad Steven used to tell a story he knew Gordon Hayward could be a good basketball player because he could jump will with both his left and right foot leading and Baker have that same awesome jumping ability. But a 10+% drop rate in back to back seasons is tough (thank you for your spreadsheet with that data btw)

https://atozsports.com/nashville/alabama-wr-jermaine-burton-with-female-fan-end-of-tennessee/ And Jerry and Brenden don’t have a great relationship so don’t know if that would happen lol
-
Averaged over 20 ypc and had 0 drops this year too. He would be rated much higher if Alabama had better QB play imo. He had three touchdowns against Texas but two got called back due to away from the play penalties. He and Brenden Rice are my top second day WRs for the Bills talent wise though who knows how Burtons character will check out.
