it was worse than that. Those three didn’t play but we were also without Dane Jackson who was CB1 at that point of the season, Ed Oliver, and Mitch Morse. We did have Von at that point tho.

Stat to ponder: Josh Allen: 3 rushes for 7 yards.

They played a lot of zone to protect against the QB scramble, also we crushed them and everything else was working great 👍 -
I remember Rex taking him out to dinner after he was cleared….then he signed with the cowboys

Yea RT trying to get ahead of Hutchinson but no call

I think all are viable. The LAC vs Miami game has the second highest o/u of the week but Everett is probably option number 4 behind Allen, Williams and Ekeler. Kmet had a nice game against GB at the end of last season and is probably option 2 on the offense Kincaid is too unknown for me at this point. If you are in PPR I would go Kmet, if standard I would probably still lean Kmet but the chance for a TD with Everett (or Knox) is enticing.

Fun to watch so much of Kirksey recent play with the Texans I think it’s going to be a Bernard/Kirksey rotation at MLB this year. Nice addition this late in the offseason.

If I had to guess, I think he was checking whether it had been announced he was being put on IR yet. That’s why he said “not yet? ok”

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?

whatever Jason Whitlock says, the truth is the opposite -
Some team with a higher priority than the Bills will pick him up. He had a great Senior Bowl. Surprised to see a rebuilding team like the Colts cut a fifth round pick.
-
I think he is very good at the cap side of it, I think he leans on other people for the talent evaluation side of it and the actual draft pick results are not amazing.
-
Yea, basically Boogie was going to be cut. He would have been claimed by some team. Doing the late round pick swap is basically just a way to route Boogie to the preferred destination.

Wow, maybe the worst pick of Beane’s tenure. It was during the COVID draft and lots of teams made lots of mistakes without the normal scouting procedure so there is that. But drafting DE in Rd 1 and 2 was silly. Excited for Kingsley Jonathan bc I think this is a move they made to clear a spot on the roster for him.

Benford - Was he being showcased? (Opinion, not a rumor)

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3

Shavers let the block punt happen. Shorter got a little too aggressive and lost contain on his lane for the long return. The block he took on got in the way and wound up wiping out most of the backside pursuit. -

Kincaid despite getting blown up on his block on the Harty swing pass, also drew a holding in the Endzone and had the long pass interference. Doesn’t show up on the stat sheet but both were huge plays that you see veterans make. It is pretty obvious, and maybe does not need to be mentioned, but Diggs was phenomenal. And interestingly, he got a lot of slot snaps with Harty playing outside. And he dominated. If people were not sure whether to draft him in the first round of your fantasy draft, do it. I think we are in for the best season of his career. I also don’t feel Shorter has done much to earn a roster spot, this was the second time he lost contain on the outside which set up a huge returns. He and Rapp were the culprits last week too. Unfortunately, Shavers allowed the punt block too and Isabella fumbled his return (though I do see him out there on kick coverage trying his best). So no potential WR6 stepped up on that side of the ball so I think it default will go to Shorter. -
The Big Sweaties Report, Preseason Week 2 vs Steelers 8/19/23
LEBills replied to Ralonzo's topic in The Stadium Wall
I appreciate your post, I went back and watched the series where Josh was in and came out of it with the same conclusion…the line wasn’t that bad. Our interior looks better than it has in a long time. And Torrence is the first piece now in place of building a really good line in the future, he looked very good. Dawkins will be ok, Brown is the weakest link (and hopefully gets upgraded next year) but I don’t think that is going to be a big problem for the offense. It was an ugly game overall, but when you break it down into individual plays, things were not that bad. -
I think you are right. The thing with rookie tight ends is that few have a mix of talent and situation to succeed right away. If you look at the history of first round tight ends it is littered with them going to mediocre teams or teams with mediocre QBs. Landing with the Bills and Josh Allen gives Kincaid a real chance to be productive quickly.

Game Day Thread? Bills @ Steelers 8/19
LEBills replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I missed the first half originally but just finished rewatching the starters. After watching I don’t think this is a big deal. Dodson is not a good MLB. On the TD run, the Dline did not keep him clean but he should have had that gap imo. Also doesn’t seem to know what to do while dropping in coverage. I think Bernard is the starter once he is healthy enough. We all gripe about the resources the Bills put into ST, but that long return was a result of Shorter and Rapp not keeping their lanes. Shorter got pushed way outside as the gunner and Rapp cut inside for some reason leaving a huge hole for Austin. I am no Spencer Brown fan, but the holding penalty play is the one bad play he had. He got called for the illegal block on the screen to Harty, and maybe it was, but I didn’t think it was an egregious play. But all together they did kill that drive. Dawkins got beat a few times, but I didn’t think he was awful either. Thought the rest of the line was pretty solid against a good Steelers front. Also, maybe I just didn’t see him out there but it felt like Knox did not play tonight. Some of the stuffs that Cook had was because of Gabe getting blown up by Minkah Fitzpatrick and Quentin Morris getting beat inside. Kincaid I thought did ok as a blocker in the few snaps. Having him and Knox may help things. I do think the McGovern, Torrence (found him to be very good tonight!), and Kincaid are going to be very good for us this year. I know it stinks to lose, even in preseason, but I didn’t really see anything that makes me think this team won’t be very good. I think this offense is going to be great if everyone (looking at you Gabe) can stay healthy and I think the MLB and ST issues will get less glaring the more the team plays together. -

Isabella shows moves, will he make the roster?
LEBills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It certainly will be interesting. We lost Kumerow, Taiwan Jones and Jaquan Johnson and Dodson or Bernard will not be able to be special teamers if they are the starting MLB. To backfill those teams snap, it will likely be Dorian Williams, Damar, Sherfield some (tho his offensive role may be too great), and then WR6. So I think you are right that Isabella is basically competing for the WR5 (non-gunner) spot with Shakir. He would need to be the best PR on the roster to unseat Shakir in that instance. I think it is the PS for Isabella as insurance for any Harty injury assuming he isn’t picked up elsewhere. -

LEBills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just going off who Isabella was as a college prospect, I had him head and shoulders over his main roster spot competition Shorter (honestly Shorter was an UDFA level player for me). I don’t think the Bills will keep a street FA over Shorter this year though - it’s just not their style. The only way it happens is if Isabella proves himself amazing at PR to make it more valuable than keeping a gunner like Shorter or even Shavers. As silly as it may seem sometimes, WR6 has to be worth it on special teams for this organization. Hopefully we can keep both Isabella and Shavers on the PS if they go this route. But def rooting for him to show enough to make the team.
