NFL Week #15 - Fish at Buffalo - Post Game Thread
somnus00 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I won't pretend to know what's going on in his head. But seems to me he gets fired up when the offense is stagnating. Because he believes he can pull them out. So far this year, it's Diggs and Allen as the only consistent playmakers. I don't see him getting pissed about touches when the offense is humming along. I didn't see him upset when they were up 21 - 13 with TDs going to tight ends and RBs. He was the first one sliding into Bass after the game winner. He's very much a team guy by all accounts. That's such a good point. -

I think it's clear that Diggs just wants to win. He's not mad about touches or stats. I love his fight.- 923 replies

Then you're going to love sucktification. As in: The sucktification of the o-line was exacerbated by the addition of Cody Ford.

Bills re-sign Brandin Bryant to active roster

Sounds like Philips may be out for a few weeks. I'd love for him to rest up and be healthy for the playoffs. -
Orlovsky: Bills aren't as talented offensively as we thought

It's a good point you make. I'm not placing all of the offense's woes on Dorsey. Allen missed on some throws as well. But I do see some playcalls that I consider questionable (admittedly I'm not an NFL offensive coordinator). -

Dorsey seems to be on tilt. The offense is struggling to find a rhythm, and instead of taking the easy first downs, he calls a 5 step drop on 3rd and 2 yesterday. 7 step drops on 3rd and 9. Let's get into a rhythm first before taking those shots. Earlier in the season, Dorsey seemed to have a better feel for the game and how to set up plays. These last few weeks he seems like he's pulling plays out of a hat. -
I'll admit, I was very iffy on the pick. Clearly he was a physical freak, and his one year at DE looked impressive. But there were so many unknowns for a first round pick.

Agreed. I'm happy with a win, no matter how it comes. But sloppy play won't get it done in the playoffs. Winning this way doesn't seem a sustainable formula. The offense is leaving too many points on the field.

I can't validate any of these, but I don't understand why people are making jokes. NFL teams have talked about looking for tells for decades. I remember a story about Dan Fouts standing with his right heel up before hiking on passing downs. There have been times during the season when I feel like the opponents know what's coming. I think this is a fascinating topic. Thank you.

Expecting a return to form for Allen this week.

The Jets have a good CB2 and slot guy as well. This defense is pretty stacked. -
Khalil Shakir's Place in the Offense Going Forward

And he's doing a great job. He has potential, and a good work ethic. But he was a 5th rounder for a reason. It's up to him to polish his game and become the gem that many people in the league see in him. -
Josh Allen helping folks get out of debt.

I don't believe in karma, but this has to be looked upon favorably by the football gods, no? -
I've been a little critical of the coaching staff during this mid-season slump. But I consider it constructive and I'm glad we have this staff. McDermott clearly self-evaluates and keeps the team evolving during and between seasons. This is the best Bills team in 30 years, and currently one of the best 3 or 4 teams in the league.

I always thought an insurance company could play with Allen's arm strength. Like he lightly, underhand tosses keys to someone and the keys fly across the room through the wall. Nationwide used to do some funny stuff with Manning.

Quinnen Williams & Richard Sherman hardest QB to tackle

Very intelligent (he's a Stanford guy), and he knows football. -
And whether the draft picks, from a few months prior, are busts or not.

I've made up my mind. I ain't wasting no more time.

Bills went from 3rd place in the division, to first place in the conference, in 1 week. Speaks to how fragile this lead is and how competitive the AFC is. They'll need to fight hard to keep it. Go Bills!

Do the Bills have the personnel to copy cincy's defense against the chiefs? 3rd win in a row against the chefs. Including the playoffs. -
The Bills are in charge of their season the rest of the way. Continue stacking wins. And hopefully heal up in the process.

I wasn't critical of the run game per se. I was critical of the, seeming, aversion to it even when it was working well, or when situational football called for it. Saying that, I was happy to see Dorsey use it last night to take pressure off of Allen. We saw a more balanced attack last night, and we'll need more of that in January.

Criticism of McD and coaching has reached insanity level…
somnus00 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is correct. I don't understand the eye roll emoji. Something does seem off. It's not all on coaching, but some of it is. Dorsey and Frazier have some adjustments to make. It's okay to say that, and it doesn't mean I want them fired. I'm actually a big fan of McDermott precisely because he's willing to learn and adapt his game. I'm confident he'll get the coachable issues straightened out.
