Watching Allen last night...

I still can't believe how much the WR situation has changed from last year. Beane and McD really have done a remarkable job. It's crazy how tough the cuts to 53 will be this year. I really hope Duke Williams makes it. -
Watching Allen last night...

Totally agree, Beasley really shot up my fantasy draft board last night. I'd been reading about the separation he's able to get but seeing it was awesome. Tommy Sweeney was also impressive. The kid can play. -
It should naturally decline from last year. Most of Allen's runs were not designed runs, he ran because he had to. I think they may have more designed runs for him this year in the playbook (last year they didn't know that he was so athletic when they drafted him). The threat of the run will be to keep the defense honest and have to keep a spy. With the WRs we have this year and the improved OL Allen wont have to run because he's forced to. He'll run if it's available.

Rishard Matthews and the modern NFL player

There is a difference between revenue and profit. -
Everything takes time. Coaching a player takes time. A minute spent working on a rb's maturity is a minute not spent coaching football to a guy like Singletary. This organization places a premium on character. When a 3rd round pick is shown the door because he needs to grow up then I wouldn't guess that he's high character. He may well be salvageable but I don't think we have the bandwidth considering where we are in the rebuild and the date on the calendar.

Geez if it's a serious injury the Bengals are in for a long season. That'll make securing a wildcard spot tougher for us too. Two teams will probably make it out of the AFC North if everyone in that division gets and extra 2 easy wins. -
To simplify it for you all he's saying is that it's been very long time since positive things were being said about the offense this early in TC. It's not that the D is bad but the offense is actually showing signs of life!! Relax there buddy, maybe a little less beast mode might be worth trying. Our D is being challenged this year (albeit in the first few days of TC). How long has it been since that happened??

"Note that I’m not using the phrase “but he dropped it” or “it was thrown in the wrong place” this year." Great read. Thanks for sharing. Excited for the season. -
I agree that calls are missed. I also believe that some teams or players routinely get the benefit of calls at key times in critical games. Tom Brady is one of those players. I do believe that the Patriots have only won certain games because other teams got hosed by missed or phantom calls. The Steelers is another one of those teams. Do you really think that the Patriots get the same level of wrong calls against them as they get in their favor?

Not a good analogy. If you spill the coffee on yourself that's clearly your fault. But if the cup falls apart like the umps ability to spot a blatant PI then that's different. The argument is that people invest in tickets etc. with a clear expectation that the game will be called fairly according to the published rule set. Clearly the case is not going anywhere but I applaud the Saints fans. How else can fans try and even the playing field. If the missed/wrong calls were truly random then the same few teams wouldn't be the beneficiaries every time. Based on the way the calls went I think that the NFL wanted NE & LA in the Superbowl.

In today's NFL he would not have been banished to Canada because of his height. He would have gotten a fair shake. We've had top tier defenses several times over the 17 year playoff drought and didn't make the plays on offense when we needed. Flutie was a difference maker, just look how we did with him playing versus Rob Johnson

Who is that? People who believe that the legacy of enslaving people still exists in this country? Agree with him or not he has put his principles over personal gain. I personally respect people who are willing to take a stand for their beliefs (whether I share those beliefs or not) over people who just talk. There is no way that Nathan Michael Peterman is a better QB than Kaep. There are multiple QBs albeit in backup roles who are far inferior QBs to Kaep.

I personally wouldn't describe a $50K donation by Gronk as a "Massive" donation. $50K as an image rehab investment and tax write off is probably more appropriate. Glad he gave the money but the description of the donation is a little too hyperbolic
