  1. I disagree with your "take" about the Sabres. It is true they really do play piss poor hockey now but Adams/Granato went into this season knowing they had a porous defense (Dahlin is a give away machine-that's mainly because he's on my fantasy hockey team) and the worst goal tending in the league. IMHO they are trying to get their players to play up tempo hockey (anti-Krueger) so when they fix the goaltender situation and get Owen Power in the lineup at D they will make a semi-quantum leap (basically they won't be a bottom five team next year and will flirt around the edges at a playoff spot). There are a number of really good RD in the upcoming draft and the Sabres will take one with one of their three picks in the first round; it will take a year or two before that player gets to the "bigs." They won't make the playoffs next year but if they get some goalie luck they'll challenge for one in 2023-24.
  2. This is the one game where not having Tre White is really going to hurt. Either Evans is going to have a field day or their tight ends if they double Evans. Plus Fournette and their running game will force the Bills to stay honest in terms of their LB deployment (i.e. can't count on them back in the pass lanes). I do agree with a few of the previous commenters that if the Bills can get up early with a few Bucs turn-overs the Bills can win this game but that's counting on a lot of serendipity. I am both optimistic and pessimistic (typical Bills fan schizophrenia). if they win this game I can see them taking the next 4 but I also think if they lose this game they'll likely win only one or two more of the remaining games. Regardless, next season they have to do something about the O line and the way they defense the run next year or its back to hinterlands for Bills fans.
  3. This thread brings up some conjecture/questions on my part Would a switch back to a 4-3-4 (more traditional) D alignment help with the run game. Of course I am assuming they can get a better MLB and move Edmunds and Milano to the OLB positions. is the reason the Bills use a 4-2-5 because they are concerned about their defensive backfield and want some help back there. Milano and Edmunds are pretty good in pass coverage (IMHO-which isn't worth much admittedly). One of the reasons for asking is in next year's draft maybe using that first round pick on a really good MLB would solve a myriad of problems for the Bills D.
  4. I liked Hyde saying "We'll remember that." maybe Jerry should go into witness protection
  5. Its almost chicken and egg. They need a running back and they need an O line for any running back to succeed, I am in the camp you fix the O line before using a 1st or 2nd round pick on a running back. If you use a pick on an RB he needs to be at least as good or better than a player like Najee Harris. Plus having the O line fixed makes Allen's life that much easier in the pass game.
  6. That FG WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR 65 yds
  7. what do you mean getting?
  8. Grew old together (since 1960) and she's a bit dry so lots of KY needed to consummate the relationship
  9. I normally pick two alternative scores with a possible outcome of winning for either team. I can't see the Bills losing: Bills 34 Aints 17
  10. The Bills lose twice to the Pats and at least one more game (possibly two). So does 10-7 get a wild card? I can't imagine a 9-8 getting in but stranger things have happened.
  11. even though your reply was facetious (it was wasn't it?) I think one thing that could cause multiple upsets in the playoffs is COVID. Lets say the Bills make the playoffs as the bottom wild card seed and obviously draw the #2 team (the #1 would get a bye - right?) and that week someone on #2 is COVID positive - that could really screw up the team's game plan and the Bills given how they are either are on fire or stink light them up. Then the same thing happens again the following week with the Bills lucking out once again. The point being is COVID certainly is a factor never having to be considered in the run to the championship. The Bills could be the first team to take advantage of a biological agent to win a championship.
  12. wonderful and elegant. I always liked the paper crown metaphor but the Bills really do lack talent where it is most needed - the middle of the D line and the entire O line. Not sure whether any inspiration (perhaps digging up Seabiscuit and keeping him around the locker room and on the sidelines on gameday could help-or was he made into dogfood?) will transform the D and O lines into anything other than mediocre. IMHO, and I am really hoping I am wrong but am worried that Josh Allen is going to mirror Jeff George's style and career.. Wonderful physical tools but no head for the game. If I am right then the Bills are now trapped in a lose-lose situation for the remainder of his contract. We shall see what these last seven games show as to the true nature of the Bills' QB - I really hope the last several games were an "Allen Aberration" and he reverts to 2020 form.
  13. Allen is very Jeff Georgeesque today
  14. My best guess is Turk is an RPI grad and we all know grads of the Tute are way smarter than everyone else
  15. If Taylor controls the game then its the Colts in a low scoring (well relatively low scoring) squeaker 20-16. On the other hand if the Bills D can contain Taylor and the Colt's TEs then its the Bills in a modest 31-10 win. I'm picking the latter but really concerned about the loss of Feliciano and Brown for this game.
  16. wow this Steelers Lions game is farcical
  17. I bet the Bills could now trade tyler bass for all of the Lions next yer's picks
  18. basically this team is self destructive at the worst possible moments..at least the worse case is 10-7 at half and the Bills get the ball back to start the 2nd half. As they look right now they are not beating the Patriots..Belicheat is going to eat this team's lunch, dinner and breakfast
  19. one of two outcomes...if the O line is not fixed by Sunday I think the jets have a good chance of pulling an upset. IF they even get the O line to mediocre territory its a Bills rout Bills 42 Jets 10 (I am favoring this as the likely result) Jets 17 Bills 14 (only if the O line sh***ts the bed)
  20. They are either going to blow the jets off the face of the earth (maybe even launch them into orbit) or get beat in a squeaker with the game being similar to the Jacksonville game (low scoring). Can't wait until they get Feliciano and Brown back; that right side of the line was dreadful-oh wait the whole line was dreadful.
  21. wow this officiating is the worst..dubt the Bills can overcome these calls
  22. unfortunately its going to take next year's draft and some clever FA pick-ups to fix this line
  23. Early on not much pressure by the D line on Lawrence and the Bills O line basically sucks..hopefully they can straighten some of this out at half time
  24. but, but, but will we finally get some comp picks or will they all still go to the Pats?
