  1. Either Bills win by greater than two TDs or a close (<3 pt) loss to the fins. Going with Bills 31 - Fins 13
  2. My takes First a big caveat..its an opening season game and those week one games always seem to end with some wonky results so it won't be for another several games to determine whether the deficiencies are a one-off or the Achilles heel of the Bills 1. The Steelers game plan and coaching was simply superior. they did a lot of "feeling out" in the first half to see what worked and what didn't. The Bills seemed like they were running with a "sand-lot" football approach. 2. The Bills D line is still a problem. They faced an O line with 2 rookies and 4 of the 5 linemen were new to the lineup. Yet they were just bad at getting to Pitts QB on critical plays and couldn't stop Harris when it counted. 3. The O line was bad - the only excuse I see here is the Steelers D line and linebackers are pretty good so they make any O line look mediocre. 4. The "homer" in me questioned a lot of the penalties. The O line hold calls on the Bills were all mostly legit. What I couldn't understand is the same calls were not being made against the Steeler's O-line. If they end 1-3 (can't even contemplate 0-4) after the first four games I think we'll see the same sort of issues rear their ugly heads in those games and just trying to get a wild card birth will be difficult.. 3-1 or 2-2 they probably have a legitimate shot at the division title. I think the latter records are more probable but the again this is the Bills.
  3. I agree with QB and receivers least in need of an upgrade now as to the greatest need its definitely the Mascot-Billy Buffalo has to go either that or the fans. The Bills didn't play their best (they were still good and eked out two wins) in the playoffs but that combo of Billy and the fans seemed to hurt the Bills morale. if you look at those 20 non-playoff years the one constant was Billy. I thought about maybe some miscegenation by combining Billy and SabreTooth but we would likely end up with the worst of both worlds with an offense that can't score and a defense that's always out of position. So put me down for replacing the Mascot as the first step in securing a super bowl in 2020.
  4. I second the linebacker part-I thought the Buc's linebackers were superb. They are much faster than the current Bills' group, can really hit, and actually make a tackle every time. Unfortunately with the cap issues, where they draft and the need for so many pieces it will take a Beane Miracle to actually cobble together a group that could win a SB against a group like the Bucs. One piece of "luck" for the Bucs was being able to add Fournette to the roster - while he probably is an A-hole he is a really top notch running back that fell into their laps due Marone's idiocy.
  5. I have to disagree slightly. I played fly-half for eight years on a team in Groton CT and field vision is everything in the rugby game. Not only do you have to have awareness of where the tacklers will be but you also need to be aware of teammates left and right to pass to plus take advantage when the opportunity arises to pooch kick the ball forward. i would agree that the line play is totally different but that vision and quick feet aspect is the same in both games. I've only seen Wade in one game and in that one his foot speed in pads was pretty remarkable; I did not however get to see much in terms of running through the holes and making that quick left or right step. So for those of you who have seen more of him you probably have a better take than mine.
  6. Feliciano and Williams..we'll miss the rest but keeping most of the O line is paramount....need a much better center but darn depending on a rookie would be really taking a chance..thats the only reason to keep Morse
  7. Need a stud D line guy and a real running back
  8. you guys are all pigs!!! Having said that I am volunteering to be the table
  9. I want them to play the Chiefs with Mahomes at the helm..unless of course he risks a permanent debilitating injury..beating them with Henne would leave an asterisk on the win..of course then losing to Henne would be worse
  10. maybe Rogers gets an STD..so there could be an upside here
  11. ok I'll say it - letting the fans attend the game waa a big mistake
  12. ok I'll be the one...maybe the Bills play better with no fans..i guess I'll burn in Hell
  13. why stop at chickens? If you could get hold of that Emu from the Liberty Mutual commercials you would do the whole world a favor.
  14. I can't get over the role reversal here
  15. do you think Diggs knew he wanted to run some clock on that play-I found it interesting he didn't go to the sideline
  16. that's what happens when the refs begin to view the team as a winner and not a punching bag..the Bills are also going to start getting some penalty calls their way
  17. must be the Sarah Palin effect
  18. is that from a predisposition against the letter "K?" I'll bet you don't eat Special K cereal either because of that or have read any Kafka. Of course most on this board haven't read Kafka either so you are not alone there.
  19. Why bother the officials have already decided the winner...off to do something more productive
  20. its all about those compromising photos..you probably didn't realize it but Gase's college major was Double Secret Surveillance
  21. All those dropped passes-BR laid the ball right in there but the receivers were god awful..I thought that was the biggest reason it wasn't a blow-out
