  1. Seems to be a non-issue, meaning isn't that what all defenses try to do, disguise what the coverage is? The Bills are supposedly very good with this as Belichick has exclaimed. Even Brady could be fooled. It takes years for QBs to figure out what the D is doing, and O-coordinators set up pre-snap movement to try and help their QB decipher the coverage. I'm sure Allen would say he's constantly learning.
  2. I certainly believe after watching how the Bengals defended the chiefs in the second half of the afccg they learned some things
  3. Yes, it looks like they are grooming Morris for Gilliam's role too. While he's the better receiver, Gilliam is the better blocker. Yes, in the match-up he's describing--what looks like a run set can go into a 5-wide with that personnel. All about creating mismatches.
  4. I'm sure he wants his chance to be a starter. If the Bills do extend Poyer, then I'd expect him to test the market.
  5. While he's earned it, players also understand it's a business and teams can't pay everyone who has earned it, especially after their franchise QB earned and received it.
  6. ONce the season starts, the cap is no longer based on top 51, but 53 + PS (I believe).
  7. I was skeptical of your view initially, but after watching Beane's presser yesterday and reading between the lines, I think you are right. Beane took the blame for the draft mistake and said he'd have to go back and evaluate his processes, including assessment of player "intangibles".
  8. Your first guess was spot on. I don't think the others will happen though.
  9. Sorry, but even his name suggests he's done... Pau And he plays guard.
  10. I was wondering when someone would use this term--thanks!
  11. Yes, I have family there. I would too, but it's also well-known for its gray skies.
  12. Ha! He’s moving from Portland, OR, he’ll be used to it.
  13. They are very weak at TE too.
  14. I see your point, but I think Gilliam gives them stronger play than trying to plug an RB at FB and an OT at TE, and replace the second most snaps on STs.
  15. Gilliam is a hybrid HB/FB. He played TE in college and came in as an UDFA at TE. He played snaps at TE when injuries forced him to last year, so he adds to the mix there if needed as a 3rd or 4th. On STs, only one other player had more snaps, Matakevich.
  16. Yeah, they signed him after the dude from Washington reversed his decision.
  17. No, my first mistake was not starting the post with "Take it with a grain of salt...." It's one analyst's take on trying to rank the various positions. I don't view it as gospel--there are some I agree with, and some I disagree with, as I noted.
  18. Yeah, re-thinking it, they have two guys who have to prove themselves over full season in Davis and Lil dirty.
  19. Except GB's WR and TE rankings are 30 and 29 respectively, so AR has even less to work with (GB is ranked 1 at QB). So maybe #2...
  20. Sorry about that. Other position rankings not mentioned in OP for the Bills: WR = 12 (low imho) RB = 24 TE = 13 Edge = 9 LB = 8 CB = 8
