  1. Very sorry for your loss. I know you will treasure the time you had together.
  2. TBD is like a box of chocolates! Better luck next time!
  3. Either give them something to feel good about or light a fire under them. That had to be a bad taste last week. FOCUS and enough with the penalties!
  4. Should we just go ahead and put him up on the Wall at the home opener? I mean, why waste time? 🤷‍♂️
  5. Yes, that was the hot topic I was wondering about tonight.
  6. So, did he “retire”, or was he just not going to make the team at that price?
  7. Exactly, you can’t say, for example, “we split”, because QB is weighted so much more heavily than any other position. It’s hard to overcome having a china doll at the most important position. Tua has some skills, but I don’t know how long he can last. I hope he suffers no lasting damage.
  8. Which begs the question, why would he give up guarantees to go anywhere? 🤷‍♂️
  9. OK, I might need to rethink this! I’d hate to miss an event like THAT!
  10. My consecutive streak is not as long, but I’m on level 22 in French. Years ago it would give you a percentage and it said I was 35% fluent, thanks to 6 years of French growing up that came back to me some. I picked it up again before our trip to Paris in the spring. It came in handy at times and I’m trying to keep it going. Speaking of handy, “donde esta el bano” came in VERY handy on a trip to Spain right before Covid! 😱
  11. My father in law learned his son could get financial benefit in med school if he checked an ethnic box. He absolutely refused to have any part of that. He was not accepting handouts for nothing. I admired that, and wonder what I would have done. Probably save on the tuition, but I want no part of panhandling by making a billboard out of a car. The first time I saw that it was kids on their way to spring break, and they were honest about it. It did make me chuckle. Speaking of which, we saw a guy on the sidewalk in NYC with a sign that said “Let’s be serious, I need weed money!” 😂
  12. Both families gave our son and DIL the same amount of money before they got married. We let them decide if they wanted to have a huge open bar bash for all of their friends, or if they wanted to have a nice down payment on a house. The DIL is a former wedding planner and knew all the tricks to keep the cost down while still having a lovely event. One thing she was adamant about was spending more on the band and less on the food. Nobody remembers the food, but everybody remembers the party that breaks out when the band get rolling. Either way, their life, their choice. Let them learn to live with their own decisions.
  13. Because it wasn’t a trailer park and I’d have been sued by the HOA to correct the roof. If they replace a fender on your car, you’d expect them to paint it, right? That is part of what you are paying for. Other insurers did the right thing and replaced the entire roofs for our neighbors. It wouldn’t “not exactly match”, they didn’t make anything like that anymore. It would have been two very different things.
  14. The camaraderie of the locker room and the orange slices at half time…..that is what they will cherish forever. I’m fine if you want to pay me three years in advance, for work I don’t have to do. 😋
  15. We know that, @Gugny. Wait! Is Hammers really closed? Are you just trying to drive down demand and sneak in at the late, late hour of 6:45am? .
  16. I share a source with Stephen A. and he says Beane says YOU are to blame! Take THAT! I didn’t think I could really ruin this thread.
  17. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that. 😋 But I’m with you! Sign me up, and pray it’s not a dumpster fire of an organization. That would be a HUGE deal to me. Avoid dysfunction. It has killed careers.
  18. Which is what you will be on one year sooner if you start playing with the big boys asap. At the back end of your career, that could be one more year at $75 MILLION DOLLARS. One more year.
  19. AWESOME! My college buddy/Best Man has Cincinnati tix for me as he still lives there. I could catch a Xavier hoops game the same weekend, so that was VERY appealing. And of course the home opener is special. I hope to run into you somewhere in London! I’m sure some things will get pinned down as we get closer. By the holidays I will probably have traveled more this year than in any previous decade of my life. That’s a good thing.
  20. I was in early on Meadcoin and would have paid you with that. I was the smartest kid on campus! If my Highmark ticket looks like someone drew it on cardboard with crayons, do not be alarmed.
  21. Hi Mike! Hope to meet you there! Big travel year for me already. Home opener and one road game is ideal. This year we have a puppy in the house, so I’m having guilt on multiple levels.
  22. Probably not getting a meth lab in a $2Mil neighborhood, but you never really know. It was more than “just a water tank”, this would take a LOT of gas but the tank might have been the leak. I thought the recent explosion at another property was thought to be from old wells not properly capped, but that could be off.
  23. Was is something about oil drilling and uncapped wells? I caught just a bit of that. PA has had a lot of drilling!
  24. He lost his mom to cancer at an early age, but you see that coming. This is like being the Powerball winner in reverse. The odds are incredible, but he didn’t even know there was a ticket. What shocking and painful news. Prayers for the family and friends.
  25. Do you mean in your nose and your ears? I think I got that covered. And the eyebrows seem to have a life of their own!
