  1. We don’t know what the paperwork says, nor what he was told about the paperwork. So, basically, we know nothing. His word is one thing, theirs is probably another. The truth is usually in the middle somewhere. If I missed stuff, my apologies. I’m open to what we know FOR SURE. Not emotional reaction.
  2. Michael Irvin was just holding his for a friend, trying to help him out. ‘Cause, you know, best friends return crack pipes later….. when it’s a better idea.
  3. I hope they haven’t had any drowning deaths with those things! Best to use the buddy system lest one might fall forward into an untimely death.
  4. How much did they make? And how much did he make? Did everyone sign off on this? Did someone fail to perform according to the agreement in any way? There is a lot of moral outrage here. If someone could give us the Cliff Notes on the facts and the contracts, that would be helpful.
  5. Yeah, this is not the private jet crowd. Gee, that would suck to go from private jets to the rear hump seat in an SUV for 7 hours in just a few years!
  6. I’m just glad to verify for others that it is NOT Peter Pan. You’re welcome. 😋
  7. Absolutely. This had to have started out as a real and genuine life changing gesture. Of that I have no doubt. As others have said, they had all the money they needed. We don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but this started as an incredibly kind act. Did they later squabble over some terms in the movie deal? Very possible but that was WAY down the road. Things go sideways sometimes, even with all kinds of families.
  8. I’m not taking a side on this, I simply don’t know enough of the facts. Who did they lie to, and what lies were told? Who did they deceive? How did those conversations go? I have no idea, so like so many topics I’ll just wait to see how it shakes out. He was a big kid, but far from a guaranteed NFL millionaire as a high schooler. They were certainly comfortable, so I doubt this was all about he long game and the movie deal. PowerBall has odds like that. All I know is what the movie wanted me to know, but I doubt that is enough to have a firm conviction.
  9. You made me think of something I’ve seen a lot more of up north - professional lifelong bartender. Guys who get established and stay at one place forever. Heck, I’d get there once a year, maybe, and I got to know who some of these guys are. And they REALLY know their regulars. It is like Cheers! I’ve not experienced as much of that in the south. I know it exists, but not the same way.
  10. Bologna? Maybe they should give him free Taco Bell for life? Would that be a good thing or cruel and unusual punishment? 🤷‍♂️
  11. Went there with my parents as a kid (when it was still Creekside), and still go back every trip. I took our boys to WNY for a Bills home game when they turned 16. A rite of passage, I suppose. It was a quintessential Buffalo scene - when the people at the bar learned why we were there they were all begging us to come to their tailgate. And they really meant it! I love that! I bumped into Ralph there, literally, one Saturday night before a Sunday game. He was coming out of the restroom as I was going in. Tight quarters and neither of us was paying much attention. I may have had an adult beverage or five. Then, in his revenge, his little Pope-Mobile almost ran me over driving him around at the stadium the next day! Ralph is………….…..vengeful! 😋
  12. I usually stay at the Hampton Inn on Main St in Williamsville. You can easily walk to multiple restaurants and bars like the Creekview, Glen Park Tavern, The Irishman Pub, etc. That was “home” to me, so I’m biased, but I think it’s a great area.
  13. I said that too…..about a year before I moved to Atlanta. Sometimes life throws you curves. 🤷‍♂️
  14. Looks nice. Has this been reviewed and approved by Tom Brady’s daddy?
  15. Sounds like a pretty solid recruiting job!
  16. We just like him because he’s tall, and are willing to overlook his questionable background. 😋 It’s actually a very pretty school, in case folks have never seen it. Probably a bit more expensive than the new club seats, but lovely just the same.
  17. A) It’s going to cost me more than a dollar, so I’m in the same boat. B) Knock yourself out. I studied all that crap too, but I live in the real world. Maybe you are familiar with that. I pick my battles carefully. You go be you, as only you can. .
  18. I am paying for it in ticket prices only, not property tax or PSL….but it gets passed along to some degree. What extra does it cost the average guy with an $300k house in property tax, anyway? I saw a number somewhere, but don’t know how accurate that was. Everyone can feel free to be as critical as they want. Just know that it won’t change anything. Feel free to waste your emotional energy if you think that is best for you. People complain that the stadium will be too expensive, and people complain that they didn’t go the extra yard and put a roof on it or move it downtown. Decisions needed to be made, and this seems like an acceptable middle ground to me.
  19. Which one did the Chiefs do to us in the playoffs? That was pretty effective, if they let you do it. Bitter? Who, me???
  20. A game ticket is another just drop in the bucket after airfare, hotels and everything else. 🤷‍♂️
  21. I’m not arguing with you because I have no idea how good the Lions will be this year, but it just looks funny having them in the Super Bowl hunt. They have a grand total of ONE playoff win in the last 65 years. GEEZ! Talk about droughts! At the very least I’ll try a little harder to see them this season to see what the hype is about.
  22. I can’t put the Bills ahead of the Bengals until I see us beat them. We match up better with KC, who seems to handle the Bengals better than we do. Getting a lucky path thru the playoffs with good matchups is half the battle. Peak in the playoffs!!!
  23. If I were to pick a single stadium to go visit (strictly for the stadium, not team, city, etc.) this would be the one. I don’t know if it’s as cool in person as it looks, but I’d like to find out. Having said that, I’m not going to have any angst over a problem that does not yet, and may never, exist. No need to make up things to worry about, especially when I have zero control over it. I’ve said all along, as long as the Bills remain in WNY, I’m fine with the stadium location and design that allows that to happen. If it means I have to be picky about where I sit when I visit, then I’ll just choose my seats more carefully.
  24. I saw some video clip from a guy at a new stadium (I think it was SoFi) that gave me a touch of vertigo sitting in my recliner watching on my iPad. I’m not saying it will or won’t be like that, but it is my biggest concern. I’ve been in places like that, and it is no treat!
  25. UNLESS the wife says “Sure! There is this new guy at work who’s really cute!” Not that there is anything wrong with that…..but it may not be what you were bargaining for. 🤷‍♂️
