Tygod suing the doctor who hastened Herbert’s ascension
Augie replied to FireChans's topic in Off the Wall
Not directly related, but my father in law was a dentist for many decades. He never had a claim against him until late in his career when a long time patient had a complaint. Small town, everyone knew this lady and what was up. The FIL wanted to fight it because he had no doubt he was right. The insurance company said after all these decades with no malpractice claims, we’ll just pay a small amount to make it go away. It broke his heart. That’s the other kind of loss. -
So……….the usual. Got it. Thx.

I can’t say for sure, because I have other things to do this afternoon and didn’t take time to read all that. It looked daunting. Anyone care to provide Cliff Notes? Gotta go check on Spencer Brown now……

What an awesome story! Happy for you and your daughter. On a side note, Spencer Brown is holding his head. Do you think it’s a concussion??? I kid, I kid……. 😋

THANKS for 25 years of the Stadium Wall, TBD!

Did you come thru Ellis Island? Did you know that is federal property with shared jurisdiction between NY and NJ? It’s where they sort of the good fans from the bad. You won NYS and the Bills, while the less desirable are banished to New Jersey with the Jets and Giants. CONGRATS! -
I know every time I have cost my employer an extra half BILLION dollars I have gotten a stern talking to!

Kids in their 20s and Early 30---worse then the panhandlers on the street?

Not to quibble, but it helps improve employability. Not having one does not make one unemployable. Sorry, picky there. Having said that, we have supported education at every step along the way. My wife got some money when her mom passed, and she said there is nothing her mother would rather support than education and a nice home for her grandkids. We would have done it anyway, but she liked the symbolism. -
I just want them to have the juice at the end of the year the way they started. Confidence breeds confidence. I know, a lot happened after that, but they showed their potential early in the season. Now we have probably morphed a bit and hopefully Dorsey has grown some into the job. .

It’s like going to the beach, you realize almost everybody should be wearing more clothes.

Gee, that sounds like a good deal. Are you sure we can’t all pay in meadcoin? Seriously, my nephew has a VERY expensive and pretty prestigious art degree. Now he paints houses and does woodworking. He seems happy, and I don’t care how he got there. He LOVES working with his hands making beautiful things. Do what makes you happy! Now, was the degree a waste? There is no answering that as we don’t know how he might have turned out, so I’m 100% good with everything. -
I totally agree, but my feeling is we shouldn’t get too high or too low. Backs and feet are notorious for difficult recoveries. I’m forcing myself to not get ahead of things and jump to conclusions without more info. It could be exactly what it looks like, but I don’t want to jump to conclusions.

Do you want your surgeon to be a guy who worked his way up the ladder from janitor? Some jobs actually require specific knowledge. Some times just having the credentials is necessary to get considered for a position, even if the knowledge from your degree(s) and credentials are not directly linked to the specifics of the job. People want to hire the most qualified candidate, and that is part of the game, for better or worse. Just going the extra mile to improve yourself is appealing to employers. But yes, for most people college is just where you go to finish growing up. I mean, I am STILL working on that! What a touching response. -
We all knew it was a risk, and now we know who told us so. 😋

IDK, I grieved over the loss of Bed, Bath & Beyond. Those coupons coming made me feel like being part of a family. And they were so kind when you bought something without a coupon. They look at you like the “slow kid” and tell you you can come back with your coupon to get your $1.37 back.
-
So, who you got, and what was the spread? I’m glad that’s not one of my problems. The list is long enough already.

Any C list or lower list celebs you find real interesting?
Augie replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
I don’t even find A List celebs interesting. Not at all. They are just people, and often an odd group. We have known some famous people, and they hate the famous part of “rich and famous”, but I suppose one often needs the other. -
I don’t listen to the local radio stuff, but I thought Mike Schoop was everyone’s worst nightmare. This is coming full circle for me now.

Dunkirk Donski, eh? Do you connect dots as a hobby? Do you wear fake glasses with a built in mustache? Nobody will recognize you!!! 😂
-
There is the time he missed, then the much longer time that he was hobbled. I’m not saying that excuses all, but it’s real, whether you like it or not. Let us all pray for a fully healthy break out year that earns him a fortune, because that probably means very good things for the Bills and their fans!

Josh Allen goes #1 overall to the Browns in a 2018 Redraft

If I could go back and do things over, I’d wait until the MegaMillions numbers come out, then go back and get myself a new ticket. 😋 Did BigFoot write that? 😋 -
Why would you say since no games have been played, we must logically say Miami has closed the gap? That’s not logical at all. If we are judging by last year, the Bills won 2 of 3, and the third was a farce in an oven. (The NFL still needs to address the inequity of that stadium situation.) The Bills owned all he stats and finished with a TE playing OLine with a torn ACL due to attrition from the heat. I can’t take much from that game. The playoff game was close only because the Bills shot themselves in the foot. Repeatedly. And still won. I suppose that game was a sign of things to come. Can’t play terrible six quarters in a row in the playoffs. If we need to see games played to judge anything, then the gap should be the same. If we are going by what has happened on paper, maybe the gap is closed, or maybe it’s become wider, depending upon your viewpoint. Or maybe it has in fact remained the same. If we want to be as objective as possible, I go back to the Vegas odds to win the Super Bowl. Vegas and the gambling world has the Bills somewhat behind KC (fair enough) with Miami significantly behind the Bills. They don’t have a dog in the fight. The Dolphins are a legit team and a threat every week. I’m not trashing them, though I don’t trust Tua to hold up over a season. Anyone can be hurt, but he’s been like a China doll in college and so far in the pros. If you want to go back and look at Super Bowl odds from LAST year, maybe they have closed the gap from last year, but they are still a good bit behind as we sit today as judged by those with no rooting interest. .

We’ve got our guy. There are NO do-overs! I can live with the rest to be right where we are right now. -
Oh, I don’t really disagree, but that 11 win team was loaded. Some people like to act like “11 wins! No drop off there!” But it was. I mean, who is NOT a drop off when they follow Brady. Belichick had a lot more talent to work with back then. I am still THRILLED that they couldn’t pull off the undefeated season!!!
-
Yeah, one way to look at it is 11 wins is good. Another way to see it is it was 5 fewer wins than the season before, so that’s a loaded team that won despite a BIG drop off at QB.
