  1. Prove to me he didn’t. 😋 We don’t really know what goes on behind the scenes, and I’m certainly not taking the word of some outsider like Whitlock who lives for clicks. I think they have our roof?
  2. Which just reminds me that beer has that same quality about it! What a coincidence!!! 🍺
  3. You……I mean your friend, is fine. Anything goes on a game day. Everybody knows that!
  4. Similar story, I was working construction in Hilton Head, SC one summer. The boss man was named Ace, and we generally only saw him on Friday mornings. He had a special cooler built into the center console of his Bronco that would hold 6 Bud tall boys. He’d do a little four wheeling over the giant mounds of dirt, then he would call us one by one into the front passenger seat. He had a time sheet, a bag of cash between his boots….and a big gun in his lap. The gun was pointed at us. Rule #1: No joking around when Ace has been drinking and has a gun pointed your way. I tried not to even LOOK at that bag of cash! .
  5. It’s always nice to put a face with a name! .
  6. I thought this was going to be about his smugness…..
  7. I think the Universe is speaking to us. We have some REALLY sucky fans and their karma is holding us back.
  8. Yes, if only it were that easy. They start as a bunch of kids barely in their 20’s, most of their families never had money, and now they are swimming in cash. You can’t MAKE them do anything with it. They earned it. If only they could trade some of that cash for a bit of wisdom, and I don’t mean Uncle Bob who’s good with numbers.
  9. Ahh, the memories. Among the awkward ones, shortly after our wedding my mother-in-law was in town visiting. She was not originally from the US, English was her 3rd language and she lived life in a very formal manner. SO, there I am sitting with her in the living room when Why Don’t We Get Drunk and Screw comes on. My wife still chuckles about me trying to talk and keep her engaged for the next 3-4 minutes so she doesn’t realize what we are listening to. Ahhh, the good old days! 😂
  10. This is the same thread……AGIAN. And he wonders why people put him on ignore. Say it, think it, discuss it. That’s all fine. Just stop beating us over the head with it repeatedly and then say discussion other than how perfect things are is not tolerated. It’s not the topic, it’s the poster.
  11. But he knows this based upon what he has seen. I don’t know how you get more solid than THAT!
  12. I think 90% of the negativity comes from a vocal minority of a half dozen to a dozen posters. And we all know who they are. Many of you have at least some of them on “Ignore”, and I can’t blame you for that.
  13. It’s hard to keep up. I’ll check the spreadsheet and get back to you.
  14. Have you met your Go Fund Me goal for a new coffee pot already?
  15. It’s an absolute shame that so many people who earned some healthy paychecks could be in such need, but I don’t think that shocks any of us. Good for Bill for being there when they needed it.
  16. Please stop reminding me of how much I wanted to buy Citi at 50 cents/share. That pain is all I’m getting out of this.
  17. It’s pretty simple. We will vote with our feet and our wallets, while they will test the limits.
  18. I’m…..I’m…speechless. Can I get back to you about this? 🤷‍♂️
  19. Are you “serious?” It is theft. Can I decide if what I take from YOU is important? Or is that just being dramatic?
  20. Does the price of a nice tenderloin excuse shoplifting? Sorry, I know many don’t like that line of thinking, despite knowing it’s true. Not judging. I’m just a rule follower in general. I get that people will always skirt around the edges for an advantage. That’s life.
  21. Is that making you nervous?
  22. I don’t care how rich they are, stealing from them, or anyone, is wrong. If you don’t like the cost, stop watching and following. THAT will sting in all kinds of ancillary ways. Jersey’s and general merch and such. I don’t blame anyone for trying to protect their rights. EDIT: Important note here, it says they “are losing” millions/year, which is a bit misleading. They are more accurately failing to capture that money. “Losing” almost makes it sound like the media would want to enflame people by implying the billionaires are actually claiming they are losing money.
  23. I was in the stands on the road sitting by three guys scouting our opponent as they were coming up soon. They were from one of the Catholic schools in Tampa, I believe. One of the 3 played in the NFL, and the HC/OC was either Bernie Kosar or Vinny Testeverde. (SP?) They had former NFL players coaching every position group. If you are the best talent in the area, where else do you want to go to school if you are serious about moving up in football? Can’t afford the private school? I’m sure some scholarships are available!
  24. That’s just not right. You see and hear stories like that far too often. I know there may be many very different reasons, but we have to take better care of our kids in general.
  25. Football definitely has the most juice to it. EVERYBODY shows up for the football games. Our son was QB and the offense so took a beating. He’d come with two bags of ice for the bathtub soak (while his friends were drinking beer and smoking weed around a fire). He needed it! For that reason (plus a host of serious injuries, including ACL/MCL and broken arm), football wasn’t my favorite to watch. He got the most press for it, including 1st team all-area when Manatee High, FL right up the road was #1 in the country loaded with D1 kids. Florida has some serious competition and both kids played against multiple eventual NFL players. But I was always on edge due to the injuries. I really enjoyed watching soccer. It was somehow soothing and more….”polite”. Even cerebral in ways. Basketball was everybody just screaming at the refs and embarrassing themselves, and weightlifting is a total of six lifts, each taking several seconds. You hate to cross the state to watch THAT! They each have their own flavor, I guess. My son’s OLine averaged 285 lbs at a small catholic school. The teams they faced were incredible and included a bunch of guys who played in the NFL. You can look out on a field and say “OH! Yep, that guy and that other guy over there. Those are not like the rest.”
