  1. Bella’s is almost across the street. Bella is also the name of our 3 month old Golden pup. Pure coincidence. I could walk there but I don’t relish crossing Atlanta Rd. One of our neighbors got killed coming back from there a few years ago. It was dusk and some kid just didn’t see him. I’ve been to Bella’s (which is OK) and I opt to go a mile or two south to St Angelo’s both for pizza and wings. No jam sessions, I’m afraid. Maybe we can order from St Angelo’s and do a game here some week. We’ve got some local folks! If I’m going to have people around me on a game day, they need to be Bills people! As @Royale with Cheese said, the energy at Whitehall is awesome! That’s a fact. I just can’t do that all the time. We have a pretty nice setup and I like the advantages of home.
  2. This is relevant to nothing, but I would NOT want to be partners with Haslam in anything.
  3. Did you sign up for the Loyalty Program before you left? 😋 If you find yourself around the Vinings, try St Angelo’s wings. No, it’s not Duffs, but the owner is from WNY and they are better than most I’ve found around here. The sauce is good and you don’t usually have to mention crispy. The automatically come “wet” or “sloppy” or whatever places like to call it. I’d be curious about your thoughts. That’s my neck of the woods so it’s my go to for wings and often their pizza.
  4. I think the Bengals and Raiders owners are relatively “poor” by NFL standards. I remember the Raiders being unable to sign some guys because they lacked the cash, either for signing bonuses or guaranteed money. I mean, $219 Mil for one guy? Their two WR’s would cost as much as the QB. That’s not pocket change, even for a billionaire. We are fortunate to an owner with deep pockets.
  5. This is why I don’t get the whole Florio thing that it’s not necessarily required. The “may” vs “shall” argument, and the questions about whether the Browns actually put 100% of the guaranteed Watson money into escrow. Maybe they did, and he’s just stirring the pot. 🤷‍♂️
  6. Who knows this stuff? Does a team really have to put 100% of the guaranteed money in escrow when a contract is signed?
  7. @PBF81 You might want to quit while you are behind. WAY behind…..
  8. New Jersey! 😂
  9. We took a boat from Sorrento to Capri in May with 3 other couples. We are waiting a bit for the last couple so we can take off, and he finally shows up. Wearing a Bills shirt. We’re all good!
  10. @EmotionallyUnstable I’m not so sure? 🤷‍♂️ I’m lazy, so I copied and pasted from my college hoops board here: I’m not swearing this is the ultimate source of truth, but the first thing I stumbled across agreed with my understanding of the situation. https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comment...teed_money_in/ EDIT: from this article: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/n...ners-meetings/ “Per current league rules, all future fully guaranteed money due in a player contract must be placed in escrow at the time the deal is consummated. It's antiquated and has long been a bone of contention for the NFLPA. It was implemented long before the NFL became the 365-days-a-year revenue and content monster it is now, and it was put in place on the surface to prevent a team from defaulting on a contract to a player.” A team might need to park a couple hundred million plus in escrow if you’ve got some superstars. You need to have a bit of extra cash laying around, and not every team is on equal footing financially. It’s a function of the market/team and how many billions your owner has. I also find some other stuff that seems more fuzzy, but placing it in escrow on contract day was my understanding. There may be some wrinkles there that some capologist can help us with.
  11. Burrow gets $219 Mil guaranteed. His WR’s will demand a fortune next year. Can the Bengals afford to put $300 Mil+ in cash in escrow? How deep are those pockets? Didn’t the Raiders lose some guys a few years back because they just didn’t have the cash for the guaranteed portion? I don’t know what to believe.
  12. Current event topic, there.
  13. If Haslam “cheated” the normal process by not parking 100% of the guaranteed money in escrow, and if the league “may” require that, why did the other owners not force Goodell to require the full amount? He works for them. Were they afraid of collusion charges when it comes to light they were against fully guaranteed contracts? There are layers to this, I have to believe. I don’t usually get caught up in the money side of things, but this has me curious as to what is really happening.
  14. I went to college in Cincinnati and there is a Bengals thread concerning their future with el-cheapo as owner. I always thought the guaranteed portion of a contract had to be put in escrow up front, but now I’m hearing different things. I don’t know what to believe. I thought it was 100%, other people are saying there is some formula that is less than 100%, and then others throw out the league “may” require the money in escrow vs “shall” put the money up front. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfls-funding-rule-isnt-mandatory-did-the-browns-make-escrow-payment-for-deshaun-watson-deal Maybe this is a dumb question? Maybe Florio is just being Florio? Can anyone clear this up? I know many of you are FAR more informed when it comes to stuff like this. Thanks in advance. .
  15. I’ve had one skunk experience and it was on the UB Amherst campus late one night. My dog was curious in the wrong place at the wrong time. We got shampoo and tomato juice and did our best in one of the lakes on campus. Our best was not NEARLY good enough. YIKES! I’m voting with your wife on that one!!!
  16. I don’t think Knox gets his targets cut much. Kincaid will eat up the slot WR targets for the most part. I’d LIKE to see Knox get MORE targets, because that likely means the OLine can get the job done without so much help from our traditional TE.
  17. There will be a grassroots movement to add him to the Wall of Fame by the Bye week. He will be the OROY, and Super Bowl MVP, and he will find a cure for cancer before he turns 30.
  18. My wife caught a raccoon in our trash early one morning before the sun came up. She tried to scare it away, but this raccoon had no fear. He’d have flipped her off if he had fingers. I had a hopper of tennis balls in the garage and she started throwing them at the critter who ignored her until she connected with a good shot. He grudgingly moved on. We had flying squirrels in our attic. Those are pretty big creatures that squeeze themselves thru incredibly tiny openings. That was about $2,500 to get them trapped, removed and a mesh guard installed. It’s very creepy to hear critters scurrying about right over your head.
  19. That’s what you get for watching ESPN. 😋 I think we are OK as long as it’s not VERY concerning.
  20. I don’t know about you, but caterwauling from the permawhiners is why I get out of bed in the morning! 😋
  21. This reminds me of a time when our neighbors had a red headed pileated woodpecker living in the attic. They covered the hole pecked in the siding, and the woodpecker just pecked another hole next to the old hole and continued living in the attic. We were down there for drinks one night and he asked “do you want to go upstairs and see Woody?” It was at this point in retelling the story that our friend turned to her college age daughter and said “if you are ever asked that question, the answer is ALWAYS NO!” .
  22. If he’s not in the chimney, and there are no trees nearby, I see only one plausible explanation: Aliens beamed him up.
  23. But he was part of the conversation that pointed out the Chief’s OT is cheating. He is set too deep. Let that set in. Let that get more scrutinized. Let it grow……
  24. He is suing because it should not have been a dangerous situation. It’s like being hit by a drunk driver. It’s not like snow skiing where you hurt yourself with your decision. What if he’d been sitting on a pontoon boat and got hit? Should he have been at the gym? I’m sorry, life happens. And sometimes it sucks. But if someone was reckless and caused him this kind of harm, I can understand wanting to see it out.
  25. You want to compare one playoff win in 65 years to the Bills success over the same time period? Do you ever find yourself embarrassed by your nonsense?
