THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - A Roster for McDermott to Work With
Augie replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m praying Bishop gets up to speed quickly, because having Rapp out there scares me. Heck, it should probably scare his teammates too. He just seems to be looking to hit something…anything….anywhere and any time. But yes, I trust these coaches to put a good defensive backfield out there. . -
Will there be a surprise trade or cut before this season starts?
Augie replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s the way I see it, some guy who is an NFL caliber player who is unlikely to make our team. BTW - The absolute worst click bait articles and threads are randomly proposed trade ideas. Just because you can dream it doesn’t mean it has to be in writing. . -
That’s how you can tell the vets from the rooks.

What they learn about blackjack and tequila during this “Summit” is immeasurable. I figure that Toledo probably didn’t have enough hotel rooms for this event, so they were forced to find another location.

I’m guessing she has already been “updated.” 😋

It’s not just the looks, this is the real deal. He likes her because her favorite things are long walks on the beach, sewing her own clothes and mud wrestling. The stars have aligned……or close enough.

Did you loot some popcorn and beer??? 😂

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

If you trade “argumentative” for “logical”, I can see the point. -
NFC Best Case Worst Case Season Outlook July Edition

I don’t think they are bad enough as a team for them to have the kind of season I wish for them, but a guy can dream! An early second round pick should be able to help our team, and if it went toward WR or Edge it wouldn’t break my heart (if the board fell right, of course). . -

Nothing personal, Vikings fans, but I hope they have a miserable year, worse than your worst case, making that 2nd round draft pick that much more valuable. 😋 -

Wouldn’t THAT be salt in the wound? The Chiefs get Taylor Swift, and we get a monkey with a clipboard! -

I think a monkey with a clipboard would get ENORMOUS ratings, so don’t be surprised if Goodell has something to say about this. -

Have you, ya know…..talked to any professionals? 🤷♂️ But I give you credit for not trying to sugar coat it. 😋 . -
Keon Coleman is as slow as @HOUSE reaching for the dinner check.

I think that is how the vote gets so skewed. -
It’s not personal, it’s business. It doesn’t matter if they “put him back out there”, he went and we are where we are. You don’t guarantee extra money as a “my bad, sorry your brain may be scrambled.” IF they can’t find a middle ground, I’d let him not make his $24 MIL this year. It’s rare that they don’t take the money, you never get that back. He can try to hold them over a barrel, and they can make a legit case for concern about his durability. I’m tired of arguing what the Dolphins should do. P.S. By all accounts I’ve heard, Tua is a good guy so I wish him well in all regards here. (Unless he’s playing the Bills.)

At some point it’s just not worth it……

So you understand it, and you just ignore it. Gotcha.

Some people would call that a great throw, a great catch, and a fantastic RAC! But feel free to be you. Sauce didn’t make the play here, so it is what it is. We lose by inches at times too. That’s how it works. . -
You are missing my point entirely, so maybe I wasn’t clear enough. Tua’s concussion and injury history make him a unique contract candidate. I’d want to see more than one healthy season from him before trapping my team into a long term contract with huge guarantees. His concussion history matters to me if I’m the GM, or even just a casual watcher of the NFL. Hell, forget the NFL fan part, anyone aware of his concussion history should be at least somewhat concerned for his wellbeing. It’s not just another QB deal. That is my point, and as clear as I can be. Have a nice evening. .
-
This is a story as old as time. They can tag Tua, and he can show up and earn about $24 million, or he stay home and NOT make $24 million. Tua doesn’t have the real leverage. This happens every year, and every year it gets worked out. I don’t mind paying him fairly. The only difference here is how much guaranteed money and Tua’s injury and concussion history. THAT is the difference.
-
Let him miss out on his $24 Million or whatever the number is. That isn’t an attractive option for Tua. I have no problem whatsoever paying him what he’s worth (which is NOT Mahomes/Josh kind of money). My concern if I’m the team is having outs in the deal in case he goes back to getting injured regularly. Heck, this guy might not be able to play football any more with a couple more concussions. How much guaranteed money do you want to throw at him?
-
I like the photo of the car buried under a HUGE chunk of white “climate.” 😂
-
Squeeze all you want, but if I’m the Dolphins I’m protecting the team by structuring the contract in a way that allows them outs during the deal. I don’t mind paying him as long as there is some insurance for the team. Another Tua injury would be like the Von Miller contract/injury gamble, but on a much larger scale. If they can’t find common ground, we get onto the path of tagging and year by year deals basically. It’s worked for others, and Tua will still be a very wealthy man. .
-
We still call them back spasms, no biggie. 😋 The first one where Epenesa just pushed him and he fell backwards and got concussed was odd. That didn’t look like it should have resulted in injury. That is hard for me to forget, even without the subsequent issues.
