  1. I love all 3 of these ideas! Of course I don't think I've enjoyed a single change Goodell has made to the game, so these will never happen. What do you all think? Out of the 3 I like the fair catch the least, but wouldnt mind any one of these https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/05/21/bud-grant-urges-nfl-to-change-rules-to-reduce-kneeldowns-fair-catches-touchbacks/amp/ I would complain to people about the idea that when the trailing team was out of timeouts, the quarterback starts kneeling down and the fans are leaving,” Grant said. The answer always was, ‘There’s nothing that can be done about it.’ I kept thinking about it and decided, ‘Yes, there is. The team on offense has to make a yard — 1 yard — or the clock stops. A few things can happen when trying to make a yard. You can get stuffed. You can fumble. You can get a penalty. And you keep the fans interested." There’s no fair catch in Canada, but the coverage also has to give the returner 5 yards. NFL people hear this and they’ll say, ‘It will increase injuries.’ The 5-yard cushion makes all the difference. My opinion is there won’t be a real increase in injuries, and the punt would become an interesting play.” “Why bother, if your goal is to make the kickoff the most-nothing play in football? They say it’s about safety. Injuries happen on every play,” Grant said. “They have made several changes on the way you can block on the kickoff. They can keep those. But you wait three minutes through a timeout, they come back, kick off, walk the ball out to 25. It’s ridiculous. Move the kickoff back 5 yards [to the 30], and if you don’t bring it out, you don’t get rewarded with the 25. You get the ball at the 15.”
  2. Damn them for putting josh on ESPN plus!!! He obviously has to be decent to get a celebrity invite. Anybody know if he started playing after he went pro? What a freaking athlete if he got that good in 4 years basically lol I played 10 years and didn't get to respectable even 😆
  3. When you're as loaded as these guys are, he's right. It's not exactly a multi millionaire play ground. People always try too hard when this comes up, its usually something like "Buffalo Chophouse isn't exactly an Applebees" lol We're pretty on par with Cleveland. Is anyone packing up and taking a one way trip to Cleveland tmrw if their powerball #s hit?
  4. If stopping run is our biggest weakness, the team will have been built exactly as it should. Nobody is going to be able to keep up with this offense by running. The run first teams we lost to last year were when our OL was a mess. Dawkins has covid. Bates hadn't been found. Daryl looked like a shell of the previous year, leading to rookie starting. We have Beach Chairs, added some vets and better continuity
  5. So you're saying there's a 1 in 5 chance this years rough? Lol I've dealt with worse odds 😅
  6. LOL i really dont blame anyone who chose to pass on that game, but i wouldve been there. What was it like -15? But it is true theres always cheap tickets avail close to the game in December. Having it be a cold weather already sucks, and then not many fans have the luxury of not working or leaving early on a Monday, to then be dog tired Tuesday Bummer. I prefer CBS to Fox, but I might just be biased from watching more CBS too
  7. Def wont argue against this. I like watching WS, and a few random games a year. Basically if a pitcher is a name i know, i assume theyre pretty huge. Especially in a market like LA, but shows ya what I know lol hows your kn-urve ball now 😆
  8. Look at that Bellichek coaching tree. He turns pee into wine. Every guy they bring in for a year or two, turns into a hot candidate by association. I think it'd be foolish for Beane to not attempt the same in the FO. That's the spirit of the rule, 3rd rd picks for multiple years? Crazy high yield. Let's be the reason they change that incentive to a lower payout lol
  9. This is a great fit for him. Easy side gig that pays well and gives him plenty of time home with the family. I'm not the type to care much either way for announcers, they're just kinda there to me (aside from liking Romo), but he'd instantly be my fav GameDay personality. Would even love to see him get paired up with Wood locally, but I think he deserves that national spotlight
  10. There was a story 2 or 3 years back about Jets forcing a guy to play through something unreasonable. Team doctors came back and basically said the guy was required to play, despite completely contradictory opinions by outside doctors. They fined him very heavily over the whole thing. I was pretty shocked at the time that team doctors ultimately had the final say over whether has to play or not https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/sport/2019/oct/29/kelechi-osemele-injury-shoulder-surgery-new-york-jets-nfl https://www.cincyjungle.com/2019/10/17/20919487/bengals-cordy-glenn-injury-concussion-nfl-rumors-news
  11. Another concession they made (at their expense) to entice him to Cleveland. Dude must really have not wanted to play there. Well see how motivated he actually is now
  12. I'd be interested in a flyer if Reagor shakes loose
  13. There's degrees to a crime. If this was at a Spa Envy, that would be absolute highest degree of gross... but there's somewhat of a middle ground here. Seems atleast several of these women were sex workers. Not something you sweep up and ignore, but also not the worst degree of the crimes either. I won't be surprised when the defense introduces evidence that these woman were tugging other dudes for money. Wonder how much if at all, that would change public opinion.
  14. I cant be sure but I don't think that's an option for CLE. I'm sure if he refuses to show up, they can avoid paying him... but I don't think they have the right to say we don't want to pay you, so don't dress up. They can tell him not to bother but I think they'd still have to pay him regardless
  15. But then his suspension would atleast be served into a year that costs him $, not the $500k he stands to lose now
  16. Black guy, do itttttt!!! Turn our FO into 3rd rd comp pick factory!
  17. Don't forget Giraldo! Norm was a sports guy though so that woulda been my favorite. This is an all time OJ joke lol norms fav https://youtu.be/c9EsIFBs26o Lol him n Snoop, Eli will hsve the death row chain on 😆
  18. Yes!!! Jeff Ross is involved, it'll be good. Calling it now Rob Riggle will be on it. He knows his sports and was freaking awesome busting balls hosting ESPYS. Peyton Manning is an easy call. Maybe MacAfee. Wish Norm McDonald was still around, he woulda been fun. Who has guesses on who else makes an appearance?
  19. So they do this weeks 14-18? We have a hard enough time selling out December games, this isn't gunna help! Shoulda built a Dome
  20. Bauer is bigger to baseball than Watson is to nfl too, I think
  21. I don't say this lightly, dumbest thread ever. 0 and 17, and pulls a Riley Cooper at Taste of Country... we can consider it. Aside from his coaching skills, who would replace him? How long would it take for the new guy and Beane to get in sync? Fire a beloved players coach? What players are you willing to lose. Process locker room, down the drain. Honestly, even if we lose in AFCCG every single year, I'm cool with it. If a coach can consistently get us as far as we have, at that point, players need to pick up the slack and be the thing that puts us over. I hope you sleep on the couch, wherever you are, and think about your actions
  22. This feels click baity in intent. This news story is always available in the back pocket when nothings going on. Mind as well time it with Watson coming to town, get all the engagement from jokes 😆 pretty smart really I completely agree. I'd rather they came out, said 1 game, we won't be taking any more questions and move on. I could respect "there's about 10 good qbs in the world, this morons one, and we gotta business to run". It's a slap in the face seeing Goodell mope around, talk all somber. The dude literally looks like a robot trying to imitate human emotions lol We all know what this is... don't treat us all like we're too dumb to understand.
  23. The longer they wait the more it simmers down. How many league altering trades, FA signings, draft pick implications have taken place to move media story lines elsewhere. You can't drop a 4 or 5 game suspension on the guy, like they ABSOLUTELY want to, when the fires burning hot. Cleveland is a hot mess, or as owners see it 1 of 32 (3%), is a dumpster fire that needs stability asap. Get this charade punishment over with, and get a premier player back in. I will be absolutely shocked if it's more than 4 games. If its messing with owners pockets, that's all they care about.
  24. I've been waiting for him to change his tune. I don't blame him for trying to force his way out, but clearly that times passed, no chance to catch on somewhere like Indy anymore. He'd be smart to go back to repeating cliche NFL speak, come out looking sharp/healthy, and hope for an in season trade or FA next year, showing he's valuable. Let's see if he's smart enough to look ahead here
  25. AND LIGHTS IT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP, and then Watson comes in and sucks. Really make them sweat out that fully guaranteed $$. OH how freaking sweet would that be, im salivating Im pretty sure the legal side of this is strictly civil at this point, unless a new accuser comes forward
